C20- Back on Duty

Carlos's POV

I'm back on duty this early morning. I am reading the reports of my subordinates when there was a knock at my door. Knock. Knock. Knock.

“Please, come in,” I said. The door opened and my Deputy appeared.

“Good morning, Chief.” as the Deputy greeted me.

"Good morning. Take your seat, Deputy Sison." I said still looking at the reports in my hand.

"Thank you, Chief." And he takes his seat.

“So there is nothing new about the reports. The same goes as I left. Tsk! Tsk!” I sighed in a frustrated voice.

“Yes, Chief.” My Deputy answered.

“So, is there are something new or important matters you will talk about this early morning to me?” I questioned him. He looked at me.

"Yes. We have new police officers that were transferred here from New York. Here are the reports about them." Deputy Sison gave me a brown envelope. I raised my head and took it, revealing the documents inside. I scanned the reports one by one.

"Hmm…ok. Good. They are from New York headquarter, but one of them was born here. He was back home, and so he was assigned to our station. Good. Good. We need people. Tell him to report to me early tomorrow.” I told to my deputy as I looked at him. I was glad that we have additional force. Furthermore, I was lacked with people. One thing that it makes my duty hard

"Yes. Chief." Deputy Sison answers.

"Oh, by the way. Please call Gonzales. I need to talk to him."

"Yes. Chief. Permission to leave, sir." He said.

"You may leave." As I reply.

Allyson's POV

I was taking my late breakfast in the kitchen when I heard my message tone from my mobile phone. I pulled it from my pocket and read.

Deputy Sison: Good morning, Officer Alder. The Chief was back on a post now. Please, report tomorrow morning at eight o'clock. See you and good luck!

I replied to Deputy Sison.

Me: Good morning, Deputy Sison. Thank you for your message, sir, see you tomorrow.

Then I clicked the send button and put my mobile phone in my pocket again.

"Good morning, any good news?" Elliot said as he entered the kitchen with Colton.

"Yeah. The Chief is back, so I have to report tomorrow with Cris." I announced.

"Oh, that is good news. Do you think, the Chief will agree to your plan?" Colton asked, pouring water on his glass and drinking it.

"I think so. I heard he needs people and I know you can pass on the exam and interview if ever. Besides, this is good for you to track Vladimir, right? Oh, by the way, come with me, I will show you something." As I lead him out of the kitchen. He followed me. We went to my bedroom.

"Come in." As I opened my bedroom door, he followed.

I went straight to my drawer and opened it. I gave him the brown envelope.

"What is this?" He asked as he handled the envelope.

"Open it," I said. He did what I commanded.

"Oh, this is cool!" After he read it.

"And this looks genuine," Colton said in surprised.

"Yes, it's genuine. I have my contacts, so I requested to make it for you. Now, base on that, it will be easy for you to report." I explained.

"Yes. I agree. Ok, I will pass this tomorrow." Colton said, smilingly.

"Maybe it's good to pass it today. So tomorrow you can report, too. I will drive you there." I said to him.

"Ok. Good idea. But what will I tell them about you?" He asked.

"Nothing. Just say we just met." I answered him and he agreed.

"Ok, no problem." As he closed the envelope.

"Where are the twin?" I asked. Searching my eyes expectedly to them.

"They are scouting. Maybe they are now coming back." As soon as Colton said this, his eyes seemed he was in a trance. Then, it turned a lively blue again. What was happening to him? I thought.

"What happened?" I asked anxiously.

"The two are back. They mind linking me." He said.

"Mind-linking? What is that?" I curiously asked him.

"It is telepathy. Wolves can speak with this mind linking." Colton explained to him.

"Oh, that is good. Come let us meet them and let us know what they've got." As I lead him to the door.

"Yes." He agreed as we went out of the bedroom.

We met the twins at the yard.

"Gamma," as they bowed down their heads.

"Yes, what did you get?" Colton asked. The twins looked around at their surroundings first.

"Colton, let us talk about this privately. Something is interesting might happening. You should know." Lex said.

"Ok, but we should include Allyson in whatever it is, can we?" Colton requested. The two agreed.

"Yes, gamma. But let us talk only the four of us first." Alex said.

"Ok," Colton said and looked at me.

"Ok. There is a secret garden at the back, let us go there." They nodded and followed me. They were amazed at the beautiful and amazing secret garden. It had a central gazebo. A nature-made small pool that had white stones underneath. The water was crystal clear. Vines, wildflowers, and wild plants grew beautiful that seemed somebody took care of them.

" Wow! Amazing place!" Colton said.

"Yes," The twin nodded. Their eyes went wide when they noticed the four posts of the gazebo in the center were filled with gemstones of emerald, ruby, sapphire, and diamonds.

"I-is this real?!" Alex exclaimed with amazement on his face.

"Yes. One reason why this is a secret garden." I said.

"Oh, no wonder."Lex agreed. The gazebo was large, and it had a table at the center and chairs, good for our meeting. We took our seats on the chairs.

" So, what important things you discovered?" Colton said. The twins looked at each other and Lex took a breath before speaking.

"Colton, there is a powerful vampire that can easily diminish the fledglings." Lex started.

"What?!" Colton and I both asked in surprise.

"How can you say that?" Colton said.

"Yes, Colton. It is true. We saw it with our own eyes. We were in the open field when we heard the sound of the vehicle and the sound of vampires. We immediately hidden from trees and watched." Alex said.

"They are chased by countless vampires. The she-vamp was stood on the roof of the van while fighting vampires. Then she uses her powers because they are so many." Lex said. Colton and I looked at each other.

"She has the power of the elements. The Earth, The sky, the water, and the fire elements powers were on her hand." Alex said.

“You mean, She is that powerful? Having the four-element powers?” Allyson asked.

"Yes. If the supernatural beings have four elemental powers on her or his hand, she or he is like God to command this power and kill his or her silly and in the blink of an eye" Colton explained to Allyson.
