Elliot's POV
I sniff the air. I smell the werewolves.
"Just as I thought. I will f*****g kill them!" I panting with anger. I immediately open the door of the main hall. In the previous era, this place is where my parents, grandparents, King and Queen, the councils conduct gatherings and events. My eyes clouded with sadness when I remember them. But now this is like a museum. All the memorabilia and important weapons and history of the previous Kingdom are here.
I scan my eyes the light of the candles still on. Somebody entered the hall. I furrow my brows. How they are open the hall, Burdulf? This was enclosed by the powerful Elder Witches. How do they break the spells? I ask my Lycan, confused. It means one of them is from the Lycan loyal blood clan for the kingdom. I was stunned at what my Lycan said. I didn't think of that. So you mean, one of them is a Lycan that his clan is loyal to our kingdom? I asked again. Couldn't believe what I heard but it makes sense. Yes, any idea of how it was opened? How they killed, Muffy? It is the only reason. Remember only the loyal to the former King and royals can enter this hall otherwise they will die. He has blood that can break the spell and open the gate. My Lycan whimpered remembering Muffy. I keep silent. Burdulf is right. Who is the Lycan amongst them? But they smell werewolves, I never smell them as Lycan, I said. Well, since now they broke the spell we can tell the truth now if they are Lycans or not. Maybe they have a coating spell on their body you know. Burdulf says. Yeah, maybe you are right. They have coated spells on their bodies. Let's check it out. I wave my hand and the lights on. I walk inside. Scanning the area. I smell lycans. See? I told you. Burdulf said.
I walk to the center when I smell blood with poison and one is freshly spilled on the floor. I look down. I see their blood.
"Oh, one was poisoned. Where are they?" I asked him. They escaped. Burdulf answered. How did they know? I asked. My lycan rolls his eyes. Of course, his Lycans knew, i***t! It means his lycan is ancient, he knew the secret door to escape. So, we should hurry and find out who is this lycan. Burdulf said excitedly. Yeah, you are right. I said and follow him. I go to the secret escape room. I pull the candle holder and the secret door opens. I smell them. I go to another secret door, I push the wall and go outside, it is the back of the garden. They escaped. I go back inside the castle to go back to my bedroom. What we should do then? Burdulf asked. Well, let's go back to rest. Tomorrow, we will report to grandmother, I am sure she will be excited to hear the news. I said. How about Muffy? Burdulf asks sadly. I feel sad, too. We will tell grandma so that we can prepare to honor him a good and nice burial tomorrow. I know she will be sad, too. But I know Muffy is happy, too, for he knew he did his best to protect the door and he knew that one of the prophecies was fulfilled. He died doing his duty. So he dies doing his best. Let's be happy now for him. He is now with Moon Goddess and Grandpa. I said cooing him. He huffed and nodded.
********
The queen is in the garden early morning taking her tea.
"Good morning, grandmother," I take a curt nod to greet her.
"Oh, Elliot, good morning! Why are you here this early morning? You supposed to leave with Butler Ulfred, I supposed." Grandma Alice said, putting the cup of coffee at the table.
"Yes, I supposed but there was a change of itinerary," I reply as to take my seat opposite to her direction without waiting for her to invite me.
"Ok, leave us." She said to the housekeepers. They vow their heads and immediately live. She looks at me now.
"Now, what is it you want to tell me?" Grandma Alice asked taking again her coffee to sip. I took a deep breath before speaking.
"Grandma Alice, The Grand hall was opened last night," I said. Grandma Alice surprised, loosen the cup of coffee and spilled it at the table. I immediately get the table napkin and clean the mess of the spilled coffee and put the cup properly at the table.
"W-what did you say?" Grandma Alice asked again her eyes bulging looking at me.
"Yes, grandmother, the gate of the main hall was opened last night," I repeated.
"How did it happen? Do they steal something? Who are the ones who do it bravely?" Grandma Alice said.
"Please calm, mother. Take it easy. Nothing was lost but they looking for something, I guess. The prophecy is starting now, remember? The moment the main hall gate was opened, the prophecy was activated last night, do you think so?" I said. She was stunned looking at me. I let her like that for the moment. Birds chirping are the only sound in the garden and our breaths. After a while, grandma Alice speak.
"Yeah, y-you are right. The prophecy started to unfold last night. Then who are the lycan that opens the gate hall?"
"I am not sure who he was but I am sure he is one of the three visitors of Allyson," I reply.
"What? How they will open it when they are werewolves?" Grandma Alice gasps putting her hands on her mouth to cover it from shock.
"Grandma, they are lycans they are not werewolves. They have coated spells in their body so that no one knew that they are lycans. But didn't they know that last night they broke the spell so the coated spell on their bodies broke, too? So today we should find out who among the three has a loyal lycan blood that broke the spell last night." I explained to grandmother.
"Yes. Yes. You are right. We should know who he is." Grandma Alice agreed to my suggestion.
"And one more thing you should know grandmother, M-Muffy w-was dead." My voice broke with my last sentence. And can't help to cry.
"Oh!" Grandma was speechless on the death of Muffy. Her tear fell. She hugs me. We cried for the moment.
"It was written on his destiny, my child. I am very sorry for your loss. It was my loss, too. Muffy was our family. He fulfilled his duty. We will give him an honorable burial, my child. He now meets your grandparents and the rest of your family with our Moon Goddess." She said. I nod. I stop crying and sniff.
"Yes, grandmother that was I told to Burdulf. He was crying, too, for losing his friend."
"Yes, let's prepare the burial. Soon, we cannot keep the secrets from Allyson, we just have to wait for the right time to reveal everything to him. So all of us we should prepare." Grandma Alice said.
"Yes, grandma Alice, you are right," I reply. Grandmother stands.
"Ok, after the burial, I will start now on my journey. So I left all to you the castle and the King. It's time." Grandma Alice.
"Yes, grandma. I'll prepare everything and for your journey. I will talk to Butler Ulfred." I said.
"Yes. Come. Let us now prepare the burial for Muffy and call the trio. Let see who he is." Grandma Alice said. I vow my head before I left. But I stop on my track when I remember something.
"Ah, grandmother." As I called her again.
"Yes, my child. What it is?" She asked me.
"D-do you think we can trust this Lycan? and his two companions?" I asked her, staring directly into her eyes.
"We will know. So let us take action now." Grandma said.
"Yes, grandmother. As you wish." Then I stride to go back inside the castle to look for Butler Ulfred.
