Ray's face darkened at her moves. He picked up the bills between his index finger and middle finger, and then, a sneer appeared in the corner of his mouth.
It was the first time that he was paid with money. That woman really didn't know who she was dealing with.
If he hadn't recognized her that they had run into yesterday, he wouldn't have taken off his coat and put it on her at all.
But when he looked up, he found Lynnsey was surrounded by his childhood friends. His face darkened more and he quickened his pace.
Although Lynnsey was surrounded by seven or eight men, she didn't look panicked at all. Instead, her gaze drifted toward everyone present.
Felix Hoeber, the second son of the Hoeber family.
Isaac Beck, the heir of the Beck Group.
Also, the elder son of the Lampert family.
All of them were from wealthy and influential families.
Four years ago, no, it should be said five years ago, she had met these people more than once on some serious occasions.
All these people thought she was dead. They couldn't believe that the one standing in front of them was Lynnsey Bridge, who had been dead for four years.
"Miss, what are you doing in the river?" Felix quickly approached and tried to flatter her, "Your clothes are all wet. Shall I take you to the mall to get some new outfit?"
Since Ray couldn't win her attention, he wouldn't mind giving it a try, since he considered himself a master at handling women.
But Lynnsey didn't even give him a look and said coldly, "Get out of my way."
"Miss, we have reserved this place today. I don't think you can tell me to walk away. Give me your name and your phone number, and I'll get out of your way as you wish." Felix leaned closer to her with a big smile.
The next second, Felix screamed like hell.
No one saw what happened, but they did see Felix being thrown to the ground.
Lynnsey clapped her hands and said lightly, "Mr. Hoeber, you are still a jerk as you used to be."
She kicked Felix away, which shocked everyone present a lot, and no one dared to stop her at all.
"Felix, are you okay?"
"I'm fine." Felix stood up with difficulty, ignoring the pain in his body, and said in surprise, "Did you hear what she said? She said I was as jerk as I used to be. She knows me! I knew I was right! I just couldn't remember when I met her before."
Isaac rolled his eyes and retorted, "Everyone in East Plergant knows about you, Felix, a jerk."
Ray walked over with a cold look in his eyes.
Isaac noticed it and gave Felix a nudge, "Take it easy, man. Ray has his eye on her."
But Felix didn't care and said, "Do you think Ray is going to find a stepmother for his two brats?"
Ray snorted coldly. He didn't even plan to marry the mother of his two sons, let alone get them a stepmother. Besides, that woman seemed to have a daughter as well.
Just when he was about to warn Felix not to mess with a married woman with a child, his phone buzzed. He took out his phone to have a look. It was his bodyguards who gave him a call.
"Mr. Morgado! Spike sneaked out again!"
Lynnsey didn't want to take the risk of getting her car after she left Cadleigh Fort. She wrapped the black coat tightly around her and walked to the main road and took a taxi.
She was tall and attractive. The taxi driver kept glancing at her in the rearview mirror. She looked aggressive enough to startle the driver.
The driver sent her to the Watkins villa soon. Lynnsey tipped him and got out of the car.
However, just when she walked towards the villa, she heard someone call her name.
"Madam, wait."
The voice sounded quite familiar. Lynnsey turned around and saw a little boy standing behind her.
It was Spike who she had run into at the airport the day before yesterday, and she was surprised. "What are you doing here, boy?"
Spike fixed his eyes on her and watched her approaching. As soon as the bodyguard gave him the information about her, he couldn't wait and came over to find her.
He wanted to see her, though he didn't know why.
Lynnsey found that he was alone, and she frowned, "Did you sneak out again?"
"No!" Spike blurted out, but he denied it too quickly.
He licked his lips and added, "My kitty is gone. I'm looking for her. Can you help me with that?"
Lynnsey couldn't refuse a child who was about four years old. She said softly, "What color is your kitty and how old is she?"
The two started to search for a kitty around, while at the same time, the Morgado family was in a mess.
