Kidnapped

1009 Words
The footsteps fade away as Ainsley, Becky's sister, leaves, continuing her search for Becky. Becky has the chance to look at the dark stranger above her and scowl at him. "What did you do, you don't even know me! I will have you arrested..." "You will do no such thing. No one would arrest me for kissing my woman!" With those words, the strange man pushes her out of the way and leaves the room. In the short time it takes for Becky to follow him out and see where he is headed, she realizes that she is already late. He is nowhere to be seen. Has he vanished into thin air? Or did she imagine the whole thing? The tingling on her lips from his kiss linger on, telling her otherwise. That was quite strange, and she is willing to put it all behind her and pretend it never happened, but the minute she goes back into the hall, she is greeted with hostile looks, the eyes that looked at her with admiration and respect a few minutes ago now look scandalized, confusing Becky. Soon, she finds out why. On the huge LED screen on the wall that displayed video clips of the happy moments she and Edwin have captured over the time they've dated, the screen now displays the room Becky has just left, and she gasps when she realizes that the interaction between her and that mysterious stranger was witnessed by everyone in the hall, kiss and all. And that includes her husband, Edwin. Becky wishes she'd wipe the look of betrayal she sees on his face, because her heart twists painfully seeing him like that. She did not mean to kiss another man on her wedding day, but how is she going to convince him that? From all appearances, everyone believes she enjoyed the kiss. That must have been how it appeared. They probably watched the video on mute, and Becky can imagine how that must have looked like. People begin to whisper horrible things about her, not even bothering to lower their voices. "She is so shameless." "I heard that she is the bastard daughter of a rich man that I don't wanna mention here. Not surprising, if you ask me!" "She couldn't have waited until she was out of here to cheat on Edwin. I heard his parents have told him to end this marriage right now, before they left this place. It ends as soon as it begins! What a shame!" Oh. F*cking. No. What did she do? Were the events of the last thirty minutes planned so she could end up humiliated like this, or was it all a coincidence? Her mother, who was against her marriage with Edwin so strongly that she did not bother to show up for the ceremony, summoned Becky to follow her, and immediately, someone unexpectedly grabbed and kissed her! Someone is behind this, Becky refuses to believe that it was all a coincidence. But what is the motive behind it? If this was her mother's doing then Becky has no choice now than to think she needs help. She is humiliated and angry. She tries to walk towards Edwin, but he turns to face the other way and waves his hand for her to leave him alone. "Stay the hell away from me, Becky. I don't know what I did to you, but if you didn't love me, you didn't have to go to this extreme to hurt me!" "Edwin, listen, I..." "Leave him alone, you shameless b***h!" someone shouts from the crowd. At this moment, Becky becomes aware of her sister Ainsley coming from the doorway. Perhaps her sister will save her from this, this humiliating moment. But Ainsley gives her a judgy look just like everyone else, then walks right past her to comfort Edwin. Great, even her sister has turned her back on her. Becky and Ainsley's relationship hasn't been the greatest of all sibling relationships, but they've tolerated each other. She has always been aware that her younger sister has a crash on her boyfriend, but he never paid attention to her, but today, for the first time, he smiles back at her and lets her hold his hand as she tries to comfort him. This is enough for Becky, as she turns around and flees from the place. It feels like she is in a movie, unable to believe the things that are happening to her. She gets out of the building and, with tears glistening her face, she gathers the hem of her wedding gown and runs as fast as her legs can carry her. Until she can run no more. Then she stops to cry some more, but she is not allowed to do so. A long black car comes to a screeching halt right besides her, and two men jump out. She tries to run, but it's too late. "The lord wants to see you," she is told as she is shoved into the back seat of the car, then the two men sit on either side of her, as though to make sure she doesn't escape. The lord wants to see her? Who is that lord, and why on earth does he want to see her? Going as far as kidnapping her for it... Well, whoever that 'lord' is, they are going to get an earful from her. For she is not one to be messed with. She has a feeling this is all connected to the people that ruined her wedding, but she is yet to confirm. For a long time, her life has been ordinary, peaceful and quiet because Becky hates drama. And now the things she is going through make her feel like she is in a movie. She feels so out of control of her own life, and it seems that lord man is behind it. And her mother, could it be possible that she was behind all this? Can she go this far just to make sure Becky doesn't get married?
