Chapter 10

Wade's Point of View

I am staring at Mia who is still waiting for my answer. She is really eager to stay here because she would have taken it back if she already knew that I was going to disagree with her request, but she deserves it. I know that her family is going to help her heal.

“Don't let her. She is only using her wound for us to let her go home again." Wade is already protesting about it.

“Just let her, Knight. Don't you want her to heal? It will help her since she will not be stressed. It will also be fast." I am convincing him. “She will not take long and she will be back to our place."

Knight seemed to be thinking it through before agreeing with me.

I am not my wolf's pet, but I always make sure that we are on the same side. We are both in the same boat, so why would we argue about some small things? It will just be a hustle.

“Alright. I will let you stay here but make sure that you will be back as soon as you are healed." I said sternly, so she nodded.

I look at Dominique and he is also looking at me.

“I am going to leave her here but make sure that I can take her when she is already healed. Don't ever try to hide her from me, because I will find her no matter what you do," I said.

“Show off." I heard Mia's brother say.

I look at him and he is just staring back at me without any fear. He looks so confident that I can't put him here because Mia is here.

“I am not being a show-off, alpha who doesn't have a luna," I said to insult him and I could see that he was already furious.

He was about to attack me but Esther stopped him from doing it. That is why he is looking at me with so much hate. I know that he is already dying to make me suffer because of what I have said.

“Remember what I have told you all. I am going to leave now, but in a week, I will be back to take her again." I left her there without any word from me.

Days have passed but it is not a week yet, but Knight is already going wild because he can't sleep when she is not around. It seems like we are going to visit her there, even though it's not been a week yet since Knight is already going crazy as if he is not going to see his mate anymore.

“Let us visit her already," Knight said.

I sigh because this is not what we agreed upon. We told her that we would be there after a week, but here we are. We are going there in a few days.

“Alright."

I went to Mia's pack and I could see that she was starting to heal slowly. She can already stand and she is reading a book with some kids. They are all listening to her quietly as she reads it out loud.

Her eyes went to mine, which made me look the other way because I suddenly felt awkward because of her looks. I don't want her to look at me like that.

“We can read this story again later." She said before walking towards me.

I am starting to panic because of the way she looks at me and I already know what she is going to tell me. This is so awkward.

“What are you doing here?" She asked as soon as she reached me.

“Well, I just want to know if you are okay," I said.

Mia is now staring at me as if she is reading if I am telling the truth, which made me even more nervous about her because she might know that my wolf is already eager to see her at the moment.

“Are you sure?" She asked.

I know that she wants to know if I changed my mind about letting her stay here until she heals up. She also looks worried while waiting for my answer.

“Yes, I am sure," I said.

She is still staring into my eyes.

“You didn't change your mind?" I laughed because of how cute she was.

“Yes, I didn't change my mind. All I want is to know if you are alright," I said.

She looked pleased at what I said. I am glad that she is, even though Knight is already driving me crazy for overreacting a lot because he wants her to go back with us already.

“Just let her stay here for a little bit. She needs this." I said.

“I also need her," he said back.

I knew that this would just be an argument, so I just ignored him. He keeps on saying that he is not the only one who needs her, but also me.

To be honest, even though we are not that close, I can feel our bond. I always feel lonely when I don't see her and I feel bad that I yelled at her twice. I wanted to say sorry but the last time I wanted to apologize, I ended up yelling at her once again, which was annoying as fvck because I couldn't even control my emotions.

Having a mate who is from the nightshade pack is very hard for me since they are the ones who killed my parents. Their alpha is also the one who planned it all just because they were against him to kill all wolves who hadn't shifted yet at their eighteenth and those who were too weak. My parents told him about that and they were wrong. They only lost their lives. But I am here trying to be nice towards her and her parents see it even though I have planned on making them overthink that I am doing many horrible unthinkable things to her while she is on my side.

“I am glad that you decided to make me stay here." She commented with a smile which made me stare at her in amusement.

I have never seen her smile when she was in our lair because whenever I see her, she looks like she is praying to the moon goddess for me to die already. She has so much hate in her eyes that I can't even look at her.

“No problem. I know that you will be happy when you are here." I said.

“How about you stay here for dinner again?" She asked which surprised me because I thought she didn't want to see me.

“Are you sure?" I was assured because I couldn't believe that she would want that. “I can just leave and still let you stay here while you heal. All I wanted was to check on you."

She laughed for a bit before smiling at me again.

“I insist. You also saved so I want to thank you properly by letting you eat dinner with us." She answered. “I hope you won't decline my offer."

“No, not all. It would be a pleasure to join you." I said.

“Thank you." She said.

I am getting lost in her smile but I shake it off because she is still the daughter who took my parents from me. She is an item for me to use against Dominique.

It was already dinner time and Dominique was surprised to see me at the table. He was about to say something against me but Esther stopped him from doing so.

“What is that rogue doing here?" I guess she should have stopped her annoying son too.

“I asked him to stay here as a token of my gratitude," Mia answered.

Joshua looked at her in surprise and was about to say something but his mother stopped him already. I guess they are all afraid of their Luna.

“It is a pleasure that you have joined us, Wade." She said with a genuine smile on her lips.

She has this motherly vibe which creeps me out because she is Dominique's wife. There is a huge chance that she also approved of what her husband has done. The thought made me feel disgusted so I didn't say anything back.

“Alright. I would make her stay but tell them that you would also stay." Knight interrupted while I was having a nice meal.

“Are you insane?!" I asked in disbelief. “I don't want to stay here for that long!"

Staying world not be easy because I would always make me plan to kill Dominique and it would be hard for me to not do so. My hatred towards him is just too much.

“They are not going to approve of it too," I added.

“I swear that I won't bother you if you just ask them." He said which made me sigh.

Knight is a very persistent wolf and I know that he is just going to annoy me more when we go back to our lair. He would not let me rest by talking too much about Mia being too far away. It won't hurt if I won't try just for him to shut up and I also know that they will not agree with it.

“I want to stay here while Mia is healing up," I said which made everyone choke including Mia.
