Mia's Point of View The sun is now shining down on me which woke me up. It was already morning so I stood up to get ready for breakfast because my father always wanted us to eat together. He said that this would make our family's bond stronger since we could talk about all the things that we should discuss. We can all share our problems and help each other out. Some find it cringe but for us, it is not. “Good morning, Mia." Freya greeted me. I can see how happy she is and I already know why because she can't stop talking about it since the year changed. She even talked about it more frequently this month because it is almost her birthday. Well, she is not actually excited about it but she is excited about finding who her mate is. “Can't you believe it? In two days, it will be our birthday!" She exclaimed. Our mothers are best friends and even got pregnant at the same time as if they planned it all. They both even gave birth together. Their closeness made us best friends too but we also have a friend who she likes so much. “I can't wait to know who my mate is." She said while smiling from ear to ear. “I hope that it's Hunter." Freya had a crush on Hunter since we were still young or can it be more than that? I can't believe that a simple infatuation will last long like this. We are almost eighteen but she is still head over heels to him. “Are you sure that this is still a crush?" I asked. “Well, the truth is this is not just a simple crush." She admitted which shocked me. I am not against if she loves Hunter but she already knows that Hunter already has someone and praying for the moon goddess that the woman would be his wife. We both don't know who the woman is so we are not sure if they are already in a relationship. Hunter is hiding it from us since we are not allowed to have girlfriends or boyfriends unless it is our mate. He is just making sure that it will not come out. “You know that he is in love with another woman, Freya. You are just going to hurt yourself." I said with concern. She looks down and I know that she had been hurt by what I said so I hugged her. I just want to tell her the truth rather than comfort her with lies because I know that it will make her expect more from Hunter even though we both know that there is nothing to expect. “I am sorry for being harsh, Freya," I said and she looked into my eyes. “There are other men out there who would die just to have you as their mate." Freya shakes her head like a child. “No, Hunter is the only man I want." She said with a childish tone. I laughed at her and messed up her hair which made her groan since she doesn't like it when her hair is not properly styled. She always wants to look good whenever. The members of our pack came to the table one by one and my father was already sitting in front of us. Besides him are my mother and my brother while I am sitting beside my brother. “Good morning, everyone." Father greeted us. Well greeted him back. I look around and see how our pack members look at him. They have so much respect for my father because of how he leads us. He is not trying to use his power just to get what he wants. All he does is to make sure that everyone is safe that is why she made a big wall around our pack house. He doesn't even act like he is the highest person here, he acts like everyone's family that they can lean on. Everyone appreciates how he leads and I am also grateful that I have become the daughter of a man like him. He is a great father to us and she is also a loving husband to my mother. “Is there any news that I should hear?" He asked after the greetings. “Are there any rogues wandering around our pack house?" “Actually, there is none. It seems like they became afraid of what we can do after killing half of them who are camping around." Freya's father said proudly. There are some rogues camping around for a few days. We ignored it at first but their number started to grow as time went by so we already assumed that they are planning to attack us so my father decided to send them a signal that we were going to fight. Maybe they are that vulgar when it comes to planning for their attack because they thought that we are the kind of wolves who would not fight back but they are wrong. Our pack might be the quietest one because we chose not to get anyone as our enemy for our peace however we are not having second thoughts about fighting back if they ever try to attack us. We are not cowards for choosing to be peaceful. “That is good to hear. They will learn who to mess with and that is not us." My father said. Everyone started to talk about random things after discussing important things that would help our pack. There are no problems happening here except for those rogues however they are gone now so there is nothing for us to worry about. “By the way, Freya and Mia. Your birthdays are almost up. You two can meet your mates already so we are going to plan a banquet on your birthday." My father said. “You might also meet your mate there, Joshua." My brother is older than me but he still hasn't found his mate yet even though we held a lot of banquets already. He is starting to get frustrated because of that. “This time, we will make sure to invite even packs from other countries just to be sure that my kids would not end up being alone." My father said. For some of us, finding a mate is the most important thing but for me? It is just a waste of time. All I am focused on is helping my pack from everything that they need which is why I am doing my best to study everything that we need like a nurse, doctors, psychologist, and anything. Those things are more important than finding my mate however if I really do find him, I hope he will let me stay with my family and move with us instead of taking me to his pack. I know that it is quite greedy but that is what I need. He should put what's best for me first and that is what's important. “You think I will find my mate?" My brother asked. I can see in his eyes that he is already worrying so I pat his back while smiling. We are in the living room now. “Yes, she will be there." I said.
