When know that we won’t see much of you once the festivities start.” Mother plucked a glass off the tray one and a time and dispersed the four of us. Mother started the toast. “My darling, I am so happy for you. You have grown so much through your adolescence. You are no longer a little girl, you are a strong and fierce woman. Once I slipped the ribbon off and opened the lid, I looked down to see the most beautiful pendant necklace. Noni slowly took it from my hands so she could put it on me. It was a bright purple stone with streaks of silver and black. “It is a Moon stone my darling, it connects all of our powers together. As long as you wear this, you will be able to draw powers from within yourself. You have know idea how much more potential that you can achieve. When I passed it down to your mother, she became connected to me, and now that you wear it, you will be connected to us.” she looked between me and my mother. I took the stone in my fingers and looked down. It glowed at my touch, it matched the same color as Noni and mother’s eyes. This is very special indeed.

Mother and Diane led me into my bedroom where they presented me with the large white garment bag. Diane clapped her hands enthusiastically, “Now for the dress.” Mother turned towards the bag and slowly unzipped it. She scooped her hand in and pulled out a gorgeous, floor length gown. It was a deep navy, it would look stunning against my porcelain skin. It had a deep v neckline and was lightly embellished with silver beading. There was a slit on the left side that went up to my hip. It was stunning, it was such an elegant gown with just a dash of edginess. Mother sensed my silence. “Do you like it darling? I wanted to pick something that you would actually wear.” I turned to her with tears in my eyes, “It’s stunning mom, I love it, thank you.” She beamed at my approval. Diane stepped closer to me and wrapped her arm around my shoulder, “You are going to be breathtaking in this.”

They all excused themselves to give me a few minutes to myself. I stood in front of the floor length mirror. I was really a sight to behold. I looked down at my new pendant, I vowed that I would never take it off. I placed my fingers on either side of the stone and looked down at it. It started to glow, I glanced back at the mirror to find my eyes were now illuminating purple. It took me off guard, what the hell was going on? As they walked away into the crowd I caught a glimpse of Matt talking to a beautiful brunette, jeeze the Moon Goddess works fast. You can’t tell me that two of my brother’s found mates in the same night?

My mind was drifting, Gavin came up behind me and nuzzled his face in my neck. “What’s going on in that beautiful brain of yours.” I spun around to face him. “Nothing much, except I think Matt is meeting his mate as we speak.” Gavin looked surprised. He stuck his neck up a little farther and surveyed the crowd. When he finally saw what I was talking about his mouth dropped open. “What, what is it?” He shook his head quickly. “nothing it’s just that that is the Luna Katie of Opal Moon.” I met his shocked expression. “Well, I guess the Goddess had a second chance mate waiting for Luna Katie. It still astonishes me at how many different plans are unfolding before us.” Gavin nodded his head and clasped his hands. “Well I think it’s about time to get this meeting started.”

It was definitely going to be interesting.
