Chapter 4: Some guys are just rude

Raelynn “Oh, stop that nonsense,” a man’s voice commanded. “You knew we were coming and you knew we arrived earlier to keep an eye on everything.” A short, bald man stepped into the light and out of the darker than ever woods. He was pudgy and his clothes appeared to be too tight for his body. “We have a schedule to keep. Give us the demon and the wolf so I can leave this dreadful place.” Demon? What in the heck was he talking about? Who was a demon? I knew I had to be more than human with the issues I have caused in my life and the fact that I was more relaxed around the supernatural than I was humans. But demon never crossed my mind. I was thinking like a small pixie or a small amount of witch in my DNA. “I ordered them not to send you,” Jerrick stepped in front of us blocking the newcomers view of us.” I won’t send my daughters with the likes of you, Drake.” “Well, sorry to s**t in your cereal but here I am. I brought some back up so don’t try anything.” Drake sneered as he jerked his head back toward the woods. Two men who were the thing of wet dreams stepped out into the light flanking Drake. “At least you brought good back up. Greyson, how are you?” Jerrick stated as he shook hands with the guy on Drake’s left. He was one tall, muscled out guy who looked like he ate squirrels for breakfast. He had long dirty blonde hair and a scar across his face. Sasha took a step forward and then another. “Greyson….” She sounded nervous and unsure of herself. “Mate.” The last word was quiet, like she wasn’t as excited as she thought she would be. “Mate…Fuck. I did not sign up for this shit.” Greyson growled out. He stepped forward getting even closer to my best friend. “How old are you even? Eighteen? I don’t have time to be a babysitter!” He shook his head ignoring her pleading eyes and went back to flank Drake. He ignored her after. “Hey! You giant ball sack.” I yelled up at him as I walked in front of Sasha. She shouldn’t have to see his ugly face anymore. “You would be lucky to have her as your mate. I doubt you have many options with your sparkling personality and face that looks like a puckered asshole. Next time you address her it will be with respect or Ill cut your p***s off with a rusty spoon.. piece by piece.” I pulled Sasha toward dad and we hugged her from each side ignoring the yelling from the upset douche puppy. The guy flanking Drake on the right side chuckled with a big grin on his face. He looked almost feral with his smile which made him even more attractive. He had long black hair in a single braid down his back but I couldn’t see how far down it reached. He had almost pale white skin with freckles on his cheeks that made his stormy grey eyes stand out. He was tall enough I would have to scale him like King Kong scaled the Empire State Building while rubbing myself all over him like a cat in heat. Wait, what? Shut up you horny brain! “Keep your demon quiet. I won’t deal with disrespect to my team.” Drake scolded and glared at me. “Oh, shut up shorty.” I rolled my eyes. “And what do you mean demon? That’s what I am? That is not what I expected.” “Expected?” Jerrick’s looked at me confused. “I just told you about not being fully human. What did you think you were?” “I had always hoped I was more than human but when you admitted it my mind went a bit crazy.” I smiled sheepishly. “I was really hoping for part faery or something cool like that.” “Are you saying us demons aren’t cool?” The hot tall building of a man rasped out. “Once you get settled in your dorm I can show you how cool I can be.” He winked at me. Drake stared back at him with his mouth open. I guessed he wasn’t normally like that and it sent the good kind of shivers down my spine. I sniggered at Drake’s confused face. “Uhhhh…” I was speechless for the first time in my life. He knew he had gotten under my skin. “Zion, stop flirting with the unwanted,” Drake said. ““Grab them. Let’s get out of here before I start craving human.” Zion darted his eyes onto Drake’s face and hissed. He literally hissed. Drake flinched and stepped back. I guess I know who was scarier in this situation now. And I had learned his name, Zion. “Wait, this isn’t how you normally pick up your students.” Jerrick sounded freaked out. “I want to know why you are being so forceful with my daughters and not allowing them to go with you willingly.” Drake smirked and waved his arms at the guys to do as they were told. Why was this different? Was it because I was half demon? Or was it the half human part they were worried about? Zion and Greyson stepped toward us. I tightened my arms around Sasha’s, flinging my eyes to Jerrick. “Dad, I love you. Please make sure you get in contact with us.” He nodded and kissed us both on the forehead and gave us the biggest bear hug. Greyson grabbed Sasha pulling her away from us. She tried to keep a hold of her dad but she wasn’t as strong as Greyson. She growled out and started fighting him. “Let me go! I wasn’t done with my goodbyes.” She yelled as she looked at her dad with tears in her eyes. “Daddy. I love you.” “Love you, baby girl.” I heard the sorrow in his voice and held onto him tighter. Zion slowly walked toward me. He at least gave me extra time. He was much better than the giant butt puppy. Hopefully things didn’t change once we made it to Hell. I looked back at Sasha as she called Greyson a German Shepard which is a huge insult to a wolf shifter. She had scratched his face up pretty good and he was walking with a limp. You go girl. She was still fighting tooth and nail when he grunted slamming his forehead into hers. Her head sagged down with her unconscious. “Are you freaking kidding me?!” I let go of Jerrick as we both ran toward Sasha. “Big man has to hit a woman to keep her down. You are the biggest piece of trash I have ever seen.” I only made it two steps before Zion grabbed my arm and pulled me toward him. He was holding on to me while holding Jerrick back from attacking Greyson. “Shhh. Everything will be ok, little flower. I have you.” His tone had taken on a softer quality when he was speaking to me. It was darker and more melodic like a sad song was being sung when he spoke. It pulled at me to get closer, know more, see him more, and it was making me think I was crazy. “Alpha I will make sure they are both fine and they have a phone waiting in their room to call you.” Zion told Dad as Zion wrapped me up in his arms with me facing out. “Give us some time to get them tested and orientation.” Jerrick nodded and stepped back. I could feel his wolf fighting for power and control. I looked back toward Sasha and saw that only Drake was standing there. “Where is Sasha, you overgrown butt face!” I tried to wiggle away from Zion but it resulted with him pulling me closer, tightening his hold around my waist. “She is fine,” Drake replied dryly. “Tomorrow her head will hurt but that will fade.” “You need to focus on you now that we have found you. I, for one, won’t be letting you go.” Zion whispered in my ear before he licked up my neck sending shivers down my body. So the attraction was mutual… Maybe this school wouldn’t be so bad. “Where did he take her?” I asked as I relaxed in his hold. “My sister better be safe. No matter how hot you are if she is hurt Ill hurt you.” Zion’s smile got even bigger at my threat of violence. “Where she needed to go.” Drake answered impatiently. “Zion, take her back to the school. She is rooming with her sister. I am done here.” He looked at Jerrick and smiled with an evil glint in his eyes. “I will be seeing them again on the first day of classes. I can make sure they have a great time.” Jerrick growled and shifted into his wolf. Zion let go of me and grabbed onto Jerricks fur. He held him back the best he could but his grip was slipping in just a short few seconds. “Ignore him. Get back to your pack and start training. There are some things you need to get ready for. I will send the wolf demon leader to explain.” He stared at him, letting his dominance out. Jerrick submitted and quit fighting him. He licked my hand and ran off. I knew there was nothing else he could do. I stared at Drake and laughed. “Small p***s complex, Drake?” “Shut the f**k up, b***h. You don’t want me to put out the word that you’re an angel lover.” He laughed like it meant something bad. I furrowed my brows at Zion when I noticed how angry he seemed. Zion pulled me back against his body again and started ignoring Drake. His rock-hard abs hit my back making me hold back a moan. I didn’t even notice that Drake had left. “It’s time to head to your new home.” Zion whispered to me. “Take one last look at the human realm because everything you know is about to change. Not all of it will be for the better. I will try to help where I can.” I stared at the stars remembering how they looked brighter after coming here. I glanced at the pack lands already missing our runs with me on Dad or Sasha’s wolf’s back. This place helped me forget the foster homes where I meant nothing and the parents showed me that as often as they could. I just have to hope this next place didn’t withhold food or throw me in a closet for asking a question. I looked at Zion and smiled, hiding my true feelings about him bossing me around. He whistled and everything went pitch black. What the…
