Chapter 5 Not ready to share her

1439 Words
Zion I knew as soon as I went into the living area on our dorm floor the guys were gonna be all over me about the half-demon hottie and if I got to beat some shifters senseless. Shifters here in Purgatory were more feral it seemed than on the Earth plane and for that I was glad since that little spitfire had been taken in by them. I wasn’t sure if I should tell the guys so much about the bratty, beautiful female that ended up as the half-demon or how she made me feel. Even now I couldn’t get her off my mind and I knew that was dangerous here. “Zion… Is that you, man?” Colt, one of my soulbonds, shouted from inside our dorm. Damnit Colt, I literally just walked into the hallway, and you are all over my ass. “Yup.” I shouted as I headed straight passed the main room. “Come in here and tell us all about this trip you didn’t want to go on.” Colt teased. “Man, even if it was to use half power on my abilities and whip some shifter ass I would have been all over that shit.” Colt’s voice had some anger to it so I am guessing he sat here today thinking about what I was getting to do and he was a tad bit jealous. It kinda made me happy he had to sit back at our dorm while I got to go on a mission. It turned out more peaceful which would make him happier that he didn’t go. He likes his fights. “Yea, gotta take a piss. Open me a beer and I will tell you all about the best day I had.” I heard him cuss under his breath as I went into the bathroom. I got to my dorm slamming the door behind me and rushed to pull a shadow to me. “Go sneak into the dorm room with my little flower. Keep an eye on her and make sure she is safe. You won’t be happy if something displeases her.” A knock on the door brought me out of my thoughts. “Get your ass out here and tell us who the halfling was. We need to know how we should handle them and what their powers are.” Kia grumbled at me. I should have known he would be the one worried if we should take care of the new person or befriend them to benefit us. He was usually right so let’s see what he thought about all I learned today. I pushed past him and went into the kitchen to grab my beer. “What do you want from Demon Burger?” Colt asked without looking up from his tablet. “Number Six and Seven with extra Devil sauce.” I was starving for more than food but I knew this would tide me over for now. Kia made a sour face at my order. “Disgusting. I want a number three and make it extra crispy.” “Ok. Food is ordered. Spill.” Kia added after his order. Their eyes were trained on me. “Do we want to wait for Titus?” I said hoping that we could prolong this conversation. I didn’t want to deal with any of their negative bullcrap about fate being a lie or that our center needs to be hot and submissive. “Nope. Spill.” Colt ordered. He even put his phone down so I would have his full attention which was a hard thing to do. “Damnit Colt. You are so bossy. Fine.” I groaned before flipping him off. “Drake was an ass, as usual. He conned Greyson into going which caused an issue when he ended up being the shifter daughters’ mate and basically tried to reject her. To top it off Drake wasn’t supposed to be the one leading the unit to get the students. The Alpha King was pissed but before he could even go off on Drake the half demon laid into Greyson for being an ass. It was great.” “Damn. I am jealous. Did you get to use your powers?” Colt asked excitedly probably imagining all the damage he could do. “I think if I was able to push myself just a bit harder I would be able to stop from raising the dead of the whole cemetery.” He adjusted his pants, the little pervert. “Now tell us about her. The halfling.” Kia demanded. “I need to know if I am finding a new spot to hide a dead demon or if I need to work on making a new bestie to use when needed.” “It was a female who had spent the last several years with wolf shifters.” I replied. “I have no idea what her powers are or how powerful she is. She acted human, even freaking out when she saw us like she didn’t know what we were. She smelled of flowers before we made it back to purgatory. Then she smelled of flowers, power, and lust.” Colt was studying me when I finally pulled myself from dream land. “You are leaving something out, Zion. Explain yourself before I have to beat it out of you. I can sense it is something big. How about I start with bringing one of your annoying dead cousins spirit back to haunt you?” Colt had his serious face on. s**t. “Well, we all know I never believed in the whole fate crap. The ‘you will just know when you find your perfect center’ thing.” I stopped there hoping they would catch on without me explaining my feelings like a girl. “Please explain yourself. I need to do some digging since you are useless when it comes to getting the information and before you go all caveman about her, we need to know more about her.” Kia warned me but I wasn’t one to listen to him very often.” “I am not for sure on any of this but the way she smelt and felt against me…I can’t get her out of my head. I want to have her. I want to make her…Mine, Ours.” That word sounded perfect even with the shocked faces of the guys. It was the truth and I wasn’t taking it back. This girl would be ours no matter what they think or say. “I had my gloves on so I didn’t get skin to skin contact long enough to know but I swear I felt small sparks. She looked like she felt something too but I don’t know how it works with half bloods.” “So we don’t know her parents, her powers, or what her placement will be. Great.” Kia snarked at me. He is lucky I was in a good mood or Id have my shadows drown him the next time he takes a bath. “So tell us something you do know other than she smells like some ugly ass flowers and you already want to screw her.” “She has long black hair, curvy with hips for days, and she is super short. I would say under 5’5 so shorter than the normal females which adds to her cuteness.” I smiled bringing up her image while keeping my c**k down. “She has green eyes, a few freckles on her nose, and is feisty.” “Feisty? Huh?” Colt smiled at that. He preferred girls who didn’t lay down and get walked all over. “She called Greyson a ball sack and threatened to cut his p***s off with a rusty spoon piece by piece.” I groaned remembering how big of a turn on her sassy mouth was. “I might have came in my pants at that point. You know how violence gets to me. “She will have to prove she is worthy enough before we will even consider making her a friend, let alone our central bond. I make no damn promises about any of it.” Kia hit the table with his fist before storming off. I hated that he was the one who had hurt the worst when we had found a girl who could have been our center. She ended up not doing well with all of us and left without a word. “I know.” I agreed, rubbing my hand over my face.
