When Drew finally closed the door, he went into the kitchen and made himself something to eat. After he ate, he took the trash out to the big trashcan out back and noticed several bags. He picked them up to see what they were and noticed they were clothes. Drew put the bags back and threw the kitchen trash in and went inside. He went straight to Shelby's room and looked in her closet. He then looked in her dresser. "Why did she throw away half of her clothes?" He said out loud. Drew had 2 clients this afternoon so he had to get ready to head to work. He wanted to be there when Shelby got home so he could talk to her but he also needed the money. Drew got dressed and before he left, he texted Bryson.
[Don't know what is going on with her but she was short with me last night and this morning before she left. Not to mention she threw half of her clothes away.]
Bryson: [She threw her clothes away? Yeah, she was short with me too last night when I ran into her at the park. I think our plan might be working.]
[How do you know?]
Bryson: [She yelled at me.]
[Just because she yelled at you, doesn't mean the plan is working.]
Bryson: [She was also being sarcastic.]
[That's nothing new to me.]
Bryson: [It is to me. She always gets flustered talking to me but not last night.]
[Well, wolf, you obviously got more out of her than I did and she is my best friend!]
Bryson: [Quit whimpering kitten. She won't stay mad. We need to come up with something else to make her jealous.]
[I'll think of something. Got to go, I have clients. Later, wolf.]
Drew started his car and headed to the gym. When he got there he had just enough time to get a small workout in before his clients showed up. After his workout, Drew began his sessions and ended up taking on four more clients. These clients were willing to pay a good chunk for his services. After work, Drew went and picked up a bottle of liquor and headed home. When he arrived, Shelby's car was in the driveway. Drew walked into the house and called out for Shelby. He got no answer so he walked to her door and knocked. No answer. He opened her door and saw her looking at herself in a stand-up mirror she must have bought when she went out. She had on a new outfit as well. Drew said her name to get her attention but she obviously had her airpods in and couldn't hear him. He walked a little further into her room.
"Ahhhhh. What the f*u*c*k, Drew?"
"Sorry Shelbs. I knocked and said your name."
"I have my airpods in ass wipe!"
"I see that now. I'm sorry for startling you, Shelbs."
"I'm sure you are."
"Where did you run off to this morning, Shelbs?"
"I went out."
"Ok. I get that but you said you were on a mission."
"Yeah. I was, and I completed my mission, Drew."
"Well, what was it babez?"
"Drew, we don't tell each other EVERY single thing the other does. All you need to know was I was on a mission and I completed what I set out to do."
"OoK then. Well, I bought a bottle of Patron If you want to come have a drink with me, Shelbs?"
"I guess I could."
"Are you ok?"
"Hm? Oh yeah, I'm fine, Drew."
Drew walked into the kitchen and got two shot glasses out of the cabinet. He made both of them a shot each. Shelby came out of her room and walked up to the counter. She grabbed a shot glass and downed it.
"Another one, Drew."
"Ok, Shelbs."
Shelby downed that one and held out her shot glass for another. Drew poured one more and She downed it.
"Shelbs, you aren't ok. What is wrong?"
"Nothing is wrong, Drew. I told you I'm fine."
"Bulls*h*i*t Shelby! How I know it's Bulls*h*i*t is because since I got home not once have you called me, Drewy!"
"So what if I haven't called you by the nickname I gave you? That doesn't mean something is wrong with me."
"Yes, it does Shelby! Is this because of Bryson and me in bed?"
"No Drew, it isn't because of me walking in on you and the guy I liked f*u*c*k*i*n*g. I told you to have at it and you did. I'm happy for you, Drew. This right here is the reason I am staying to myself in my room. Thanks for the shots roomy, I am going back to my room now."
"Shelby, Wait!"
"What, Drew?"
"Please don't shut me out like that, Shelbs."
Drew sat his shot glass down and walked up to her. He grabbed Shelby by the hands and stood there pleading with her. Shelby stared at Drew for a few minutes before she took a deep breath and moved her hands from his. She wrapped her arms around Drew's neck and she leaned in and kissed him. When she pulled away, Drew just stood there.
"I'm sorry, Drew." Shelby said as she started to walk away.
Drew grabbed her hand and pulled her back to him and he crashed his lips into hers. Shelby pushed away and ran into her room. Drew followed her but she shut the door in his face.
"Shelbs, open the door."
"I can't Drew."
"Why not?"
"Because Drew, we are best friends and we can't do things like that. I like Bryson and you know that. You and Bryson are hooking up now. I can't do that to him or you. We both had too many shots. Go to bed, Drew."
"But Shelbs, I only had one shot. I am fine."
Drew didn't get an answer. He sighed and went to his room. He plopped down on his bed and yelled "F*U*C*K". "Why did I have to pull her back and kiss her? I wanted her to want me, not run from me." He said to himself. Drew stripped out of his clothes and laid there staring at the ceiling. When Drew got up, He saw that Shelby's car was gone. He walked into the kitchen to make himself a cup of coffee. He saw a note sitting on the counter.
** Drew, I am so sorry for kissing you last night. I don't know what came over me. We are best friends and I don't want to lose you. I need time to think about everything that's happened between you, Bryson, and myself. Please don't try to talk me into coming home. Just give me time. I swear I'll be fine. I need to get over the jealousy so l can be your Shelbs again. I Love you Drewy and I always will! ~Shelbs **
Drew set the note back on the counter and he punched the wall. "F*U*C*K! She f*u*c*k*i*n*g left because I couldn't keep my f*u*c*k*i*n*g lips to myself." Drew said out loud. He grabbed his phone and called Bryson.
"Wolf, We have a problem."
"What is the problem?" Bryson asked as he got in his truck to leave for work.
"She left."
"Ok. Where did she go?"
"I don't f*u*c*k*i*n*g know, Bryson."
"What happened, Drew?"
"Last night when I got home, I offered her some shots thinking it would ease her into talking to me but instead she kissed me and I f*u*c*k*e*d up and kissed her back and she took off this morning because of it."
"How do you know she took off? Maybe she had stuff to do."
"She left me a note, Bryson. She told me to give her time to get over being jealous of you and I. Can we please end this s*h*i*t now? It's not worth losing the one person in this world I love with everything in me."
"Yeah, we can end it. Meet me later at the park and we will go look for her." Bryson said.
Drew hung up the phone and went to get dressed. He wanted to see if he could find her and apologize for kissing her. Drew drove around for hours trying to find her but had no luck. He met up with Bryson and they looked all over town for her but they had no luck finding her. Drew hoped that if he went home, she would show up. He headed home sat there and waited but she didn't come home. He texted her.
[Shelbs, Please come home. I know you said not to try and talk you into it but I need you to come home.]
Shelbs:[No.]
[Shelby, I am so sorry! I shouldn't have kissed you back. Please come home.]
His last text to her went without a reply. He laid back on the couch and fell asleep. When he woke up he ran to Shelby's room to see if she had come home after he fell asleep but her room was empty and her bed was still made. Drew had clients today and he knew he couldn't cancel on them. He took a shower and went to work. After work, he drove around again but still no luck finding her. He went home and made himself dinner then took a shower. He laid on the couch hoping she would walk through the door but another night of getting his hopes up. He decided to sleep in the living room so he would be able to hear her if she did come home. Days went by and Drew still hadn't seen or heard from her. He didn't know what else to do except go on about his day as if she was at home. He couldn't risk losing his job and them losing their house. Bryson kept Drew informed on his searches and Drew did the same for Bryson. What neither of them knew was, Shelby wasn't that far away.
