When Shelby woke up, she looked around her hotel room and sighed. She had been dreaming about Bryson being there with her in the bed. Shelby sat up and pushed the covers off of her. She grabbed her clothes and went into the bathroom to get dressed. After she got dressed and brushed her teeth, Shelby headed out to get some coffee and something for breakfast. She knew she couldn't go to her normal places due to Drew out and about searching for her so she headed further away from the city and found a nice little coffee shop. She ordered her coffee and ordered a blueberry bagel and a chocolate eclair. She paid and went and sat down at one of the tables. When her order was brought to her, she took a sip of her coffee and noticed a red-headed woman sitting on the other side of the cafe staring at her. Shelby turned away and ate her eclair. She decided to save her bagel for later and she got up and headed to her car. As she was pulling out of the parking lot she saw the same woman walk out and get into a white Mercedes. Shelby shook it off and headed back to her hotel. She opened her laptop and began working on the next chapter of her book. When she took a break, she looked at the clock and noticed it was lunchtime. Shelby ordered wings and fries for lunch and had them delivered to her. After she finished her food, she went back to working on her chapter. She finished it and decided to start the next chapter. She was on a roll today and didn't want to break away from the screen but her phone went off and she looked over at it to see Drew's name. She unlocked her phone and clicked on the message. Drew: [Shelbs, I miss you! I know you asked for a little more time to think but I need you here with me. I am losing my mind and I don't like the places it keeps taking me. We have never been apart like this except as teens and even when we first met, You and I talked every night but we aren't doing that now. I'm scared of losing you Shelbs. I honestly don't know what I will do if I lose you. I'm sitting here on the couch where I have been pretty much every night since you took off and all I have done today is cry. I had to call out of work because I couldn't even bring myself to get up and shower this morning. I love you Shelbs. Please, please, please come home Shelby.] Shelby sat there reading the text over and over again. She knew Drew was going crazy not having her at the house but she needed this break. If she went home now she would not be able to think about what she wants or who she wants. Yes, Bryson knowing where she is was making it hard for her to think about everything but even if she told him not to come here anymore, he probably wouldn't listen. She started to reply to Drew but just sat there staring at the phone. What was she supposed to reply? "Hey Drew, sorry but I can't come home yet." If she was to send something like that he would probably think the worst and do something stupid. After sitting there awhile she decided to text him. [Drewy, I am sorry you are going crazy without me being there. I promise you I will be home soon. I promise you nothing in this crazy f*u*c*k*e*d up world we live in would ever cause you to lose me including what I am fighting. Please Drewy, get up and shower, and don't call out tomorrow. You can't afford to lose your clients because of me. I am getting somewhere with what I needed time to think about and I have been working on my book. Text me and let me know you are at work tomorrow. I'll expect pictures as proof. I love you too Drewy.] Shelby sat back and sighed. She knew she was going to have to go home. She couldn't keep doing this to Drew, Bryson, or to herself. She decided she was going to check out tomorrow and go home before Drew got off work. She knew if Drew wasn't even up for showering that more than likely the house was going to be a mess. Shelby closed her laptop and looked around the room. She decided to get up and go ahead and start packing up her stuff. She called down to the front desk and let them know she would be checking out in the morning. Shelby ordered herself dinner and then took a shower while waiting on it to be delivered. After she got out and ate, She crawled into the bed and lay there. She hadn't heard from Bryson and it made her wonder what he was up to. She grabbed her phone and sent him a text. [Hello Big Bad Wolf, I just wanted to say I hope you had a good day and tell you good night.] Bryson: [Hello, pretty lady! Sorry, I haven't texted or called today. Started a new project at work and got busy. I did have a good day. Hope you did as well?] [It's been an ok day. I got some work done and I thought about some stuff. I am going to go ahead and head to bed. Sweet dreams Big Bad Wolf. :* ] Bryson: [Glad you got some work done. I am patiently waiting to read this book and glad you were able to think about stuff. My dreams are always sweet when you are in them. Good night, pretty lady :* ] Shelby laid her phone on the nightstand and plugged it up to charge. She pulled the covers up to her shoulder and she closed her eyes. When Shelby woke up, She grabbed her bags and went down to the front desk to check out. The clerk gave her the check-out paper and Shelby headed to her car. When she pulled down the road to the house, She checked for Drew's car. It wasn't there. She pulled into the driveway and grabbed her bag. Shelby opened the door and was met with exactly what she thought she would be. A mess. Drew hadn't cleaned anything since she left and the dishes were piled up on the counter and all in the sink. His dirty clothes were all over the living room and there was trash everywhere. Shelby sighed and figured since she was going to stay, she would clean it before he got home. Shelby began cleaning the living room and taking Drew's dirty clothes to his room. She put them in his laundry basket and closed his door. As she was picking up the food containers that sat on the coffee table, she got a text. It was Drew letting her know he was at work and he attached a picture to prove it. Shelby sent him a smiley face in response. She finished the living room and then got started on the kitchen. She was ready to beat Drew for all the dishes he left sitting. As soon as she finished the dishes, she began sweeping and then mopped. She lit some candles to air out the stench of Drew's dirty clothes and unwashed sweaty body. She then took her clothes to the laundry room and put them in the washer. Shelby decided to order dinner and have it already plated when Drew got off work. After she placed the order, she went to her room and took a shower. After the food arrived, Shelby went ahead and began plating everything. She knew Drew would be walking through the door any minute now so she wanted to go ahead and have it ready. Shelby took the plates to the coffee table and sat them down and made herself and Drew something to drink. She sat down and waited on the car to pull in. She was right. He was right on time and when she heard the keys unlock the door, she got nervous. The door opened and at first, Drew didn't see her sitting there but he must have caught a whiff of the food because he stopped and sniffed the air. He turned his head and dropped his gym bag. He ran straight to her and picked her up off the couch without her even getting a word in. He squeezed her tightly and broke down and cried. Once Drew put her down, Shelby told him to sit and eat. She couldn't look him in the eyes but neither of them needed to say a word. Drew knew she was sorry for leaving like that and she knew he wasn't mad at her. After they ate, Drew turned to her and all he said was "Start talking, Shelbs."
