And as expected, the group of werewolves didn’t believe him and eyed Lilia who was quietly sitting on the bed, with Uril as their representative, he asked, “How can we know that you’re not lying?”
Lerio smirked and took a step side to give Lilia a better view of them. Liliech was confused but he heard Lerio speak to her, “Look at them Lilia, do you recognize any of them?”
Liliech turned her head towards them and saw the group more clearly now. They varied in height but they were all big in stature, biceps popping hard as their masculine faces would make a child cry. Lilia saw that they were staring at her intently as if she was a witch, well she is, but she was sure that this hatred coming from them was because of the body she has now.
And since Lilia had no interest in any weak being, she stopped pretending as if she was trying to remember them and turned to Lerio, “None.”
But before she answered, the group had finally believed that she lost her memory since she didn’t make any scenes or tantrums. Lilia was known to be someone who could do anything she likes and if she doesn’t like you at first sight or she was displeased by your appearance, she’ll have Lerio beat up someone and that was one thing that she casually did when she transferred in the Crescent Moon Pack. Majority of them had tasted how ridiculous can this young lady would be, she started ordering the werewolves around the pack with her wants and expenses, especially to the kindest healer who was known to be the only person that the alpha had loved. Lilia was so toxic that she even tried to have the lady be married to someone else and disappear from their sight forever. But the alpha didn’t allow that and made her wreak more havoc on the pack.
It only stopped when Lilia’s former pack was wiped off by the vampires that her life changed drastically, from being a princess to nobody. Now that the source of her strength had completely disappeared, everyone started to bully her, including this group of werewolves that she wanted to kill so badly.
“Maybe she’s pretending.” One of them spoke
Lerio sighed and said to them, “I won’t force you to believe since it’s already a fact.”
Uril replied, “Even if it’s real, how many days will we wait to have her recover her memory? We were sent by the alpha and the council to get her since the investigation will start.”
Lady Beth who was just listening to the side can’t help but to intervene, “I just don’t understand why do you have to prioritize the investigation on your Luna’s health! This is your Luna! One of the leaders of the pack, a chosen of the moon goddess! You should show some respect!”
“She was never been our Luna,” Uril replied.
“You…!” Lady Beth was enraged and wanted to discipline the man, but Lerio said she shouldn’t.
“We’ll send a message on the camp and will wait as we monitor Luna Lilia until there was response,” Uril said without considering any of their opposition. They went out of the room to send one of their men to go back to the camp while the rest would stay to keep the Luna from running away.
It enraged the elders since this is their sanctuary, a land for those werewolves who retired from worldly affairs but since Lady Beth already intervened by protecting her former student Lilia, then she couldn’t longer take the group of werewolves away from their place.
“Lilia, don’t worry they couldn’t harm you under our protection.” Lady Beth turned to her, “And because the council was already involved, they wouldn’t do something against you.”
Liliech quietly listened, the voices and steps of those men were yet to fade but she could still sense the hostility that they left right in that room.
“What will happen if I was proven guilty? Will I get killed?” she asked Lerio who was still glaring right at the door but the man snapped back and softened his expression upon facing her.
“No, but once you’ve proven guilty of such crime, you’ll be transferred to the Witch’s Dungeon.”
Liliech’s eyes widened, Witch’s Dungeon?! Are they for real?
Liliech was a witch but there are higher and more powerful witches that govern the land with their power and authority. It is said that they maintain the peace and balance of different beasts around here that’s why once a heinous crime is committed, they’ll interfere and get the punishments for them. Liliech had already killed several beasts but luck was with her that she was still not being caught by their guards.
It is not really that scary for her but she was afraid to die the second time around and get reborn into another hideous beast.
“Then what should we do? We need to get her memory back.” Lady Beth said in all worry
Lerio stared at Liliech, it seemed like he could no longer predict her future actions, “Letting her recuperate around this room would not bring her memory back, we must guide her around to have her mind refreshed.” he turned to Liliech, “We must track back the place she could mostly trigger her memories back.”
Lady Beth raised her head and asked, “To the old Pack?”
Lerio shook his head and said, “I am sure she had her happiest moment there.”
“What do you mean?” Lady beth asked
Lerio sighed and turned to the window, “Her happiest moments were just fleeting, I am sure she must have forgotten most of it.”
He continued, “Lady Beth, with your permission, I’ll take Lilia back to the West Woods.”
Aside from Lady Beth, Liliech snapped back to reality hearing it.
“The West Woods? The place where she almost died?!” Lady Beth exclaimed
But Lerio was firm on his statement, “It is the most painful part of life that a person can acknowledge his existence. I believe that her hatred and anger will bring her back.”
