Chapter 5: Boss Kissed Me? (2) *** “I need to rest for a bit... Can I sleep here?” Astar asked in an unusually polite manner, usually whatever came out of the man’s mouth would be rather demanding but now he seemed like an injured puppy begging for help. “Of course, sir! It’s not an issue, but please let me guide you to the bedroom, the sofa isn’t comfortable and-” He was interrupted by the man that laid down as if he wasn’t paying attention to him at all. “Just for a bit...” Astar said once more while resting his head back. He felt sick as if he would throw up at any moment. He was visibly unwell, you could tell he was having some sort of reaction to the possession just now. “Eh... how strange, for a man that seems like he’d have a strong mental fortitude to be in such a bad condition after getting possessed once.” Weiss remarked in a sort of carefree manner while floating about around Astar who didn’t seem to be able to hear him at all. “You’re saying you’re the one responsible for him being ill?” Ezikiel asked as he followed after the ghost that passed through the living room wall and entered into the kitchen. “Well... I might be, yeah...” Weiss said while turning his head upside down and attaching himself to the lower ceiling of the kitchen like a spider. “I’m not too sure how this possession business really is anyways, but I’ve heard that the weaker the person is mentally the harder the possession will be on their bodies... something like that...” He shrugged his shoulders as if he didn’t really know what else to tell the man. “You’ve been a ghost for how many years, and you can’t even get your ghost facts straight, you good for nothing piece of--!” Ezikiel stopped himself as he heard his boss groan in pain. “...waste of space ghost...” He lowered his voice and whispered to him as to not wake up Astar. “Damn, you really have a grudge on me...” Weiss remarked as he crossed his arms and rested on top of the kitchen counter. “Don’t worry about it! When he wakes up he’s not going to be able to remember anything of the possession, you’ll just tell him he hit his head or something and that’s that!” Weiss said while crossing his arms and puffing out his chest as if he had fixed the issue completely. “You’re saying he isn’t going to be able to remember?” Ezikiel asked with a sigh of relief leaving his lips. “Probably, I don’t know.” Weiss shrugged his shoulders then felt the other’s hand hit the top of his see through head. “OUCH! What was that for?! And how did you even hit me?! Are you punching me with your life-force!? That’s low!” Weiss hurriedly moved at a further distance from the man as to not get hit again. “Even though I haven’t done anything wrong, it’s his fault for being easy to possess.” “You’re not at fault, huh!?” Ezikiel looked like he was about to popo a blood vessel if he were to become any angrier than he already was. “Then it’s going to be my fault for accidentally killing you, isn’t it?” He asked while moving forward trying to grab the ghost once more. “Woah?!! Wow! Wait, a second! If it’s you than I don’t think it’s going to be accidental!” Weiss said while moving from side to side and floating through the air in zick-zack motions. “You’re damn right it won’t be! I’m going to make sure you can’t even go to the afterlife after I’m done with you!” Ezikiel cursed under his breath while chasing the man like a child chasing a helium balloon that had slipped out of its hands. “Why are you being so aggressive with me, huh!?” Weiss asked as he continuously avoided all of the man’s advances to try and grab him by flying around. “I want the old Ezikiel back! Hashtag the old Ezikiel!” He said while slipping though the man’s fingertips just barely before he could get caught. “I’ll give you the old Ezikiel’s special treatment so now come here!” Ezikiel said as he jumped up to hit the ghost once more. “Look... I can see you’re angry and all...!” Weiss said while looking at the man with a pair of apologetic eyes. “Woah! That was a close one!” He remarked as he moved to his right but in that moment Ezikiel finally managed to pin him down to the ground. “Oh, you haven’t seen the start of it yet!” Ezikiel said while holding him down, glaring at him, his previously unfeeling eyes and indifferent look on his face all disappeared in that instance where all he could see was red in his eyes. As if pure rage guided all his decisions. “EEEKK?!!!” Weiss squeaked almost like a dog toy while flailing his transparent arms around trying to escape the man’s tight grip but it wasn’t possible. “For a stupid ghost like you, only hands on discipline will ever work...” Ezikiel threatened while raising his hand up again, this time he wasn’t going to let out the ghost so easily as he did before. “I don’t see why you’re so attached to him, it’s not like you’re in love with him or something...!” Weiss said while placing both his hands in front of his face. “........!” At that Ezikiel stopped, he completely froze in place as if he wasn’t certain what he was supposed to do. He was obviously caught off guard because of what the ghost had said to him. “Wait...” Suddenly, the previously carefree and mischievous look on the ghost’s face had disappeared as he asked in a more genuine sounding voice. “...are you really in love with him?” Ezikiel stood still for a bit, his eyes drifted away and his face looked almost beet read as he burst out: “Do I love him?!” Ezikiel suddenly seemed even angrier than ever before. “Of course not! Why would I be in love with my boss?! He’s cranky and he hates people getting too close for him, he’s arrogant to say the least and a germophobe with OCD.” He began rambling on the top of his lungs, as if his loudness was to compensate for something else. “Why would I ever like someone like that!?” “Ezikiel, you should stop now, I get it...-!” Weiss tried to calmed the man down but the more he tried, the more the other went off on his own tangent. “He’s constantly nagging me to do one thing after the other and I work my ass off without getting a bonus for the past three years so to answer your stupid question, NO I DO NOT!” Ezikiel finished yelling and by the end of it was left completely out of breath staring back at the ghost that looked a bit worried. “WHAT?!” Ezikiel lashed out one more time, finding the ghost’s constant staring annoying. “He’s behind you.” Weiss said while pointing at Astar who was positioned only half a meter away from the other man. “........?” Ezikiel glanced at his side to see that Astar was in fact standing right behind him with a complex look in his face. The look in Ezikiel’s eyes instantly dropped as he realized in what kind of a mess he had gotten himself into. “As I was saying... my boss is really amazing... I admire him so much for being so hard working despite the hard times the company has been on for the past few years!” Ezikiel decided to play dumb and continued speaking whatever else came to his mind as a silly attempt to erase what he’d previously raged about. “And I totally understand why he’s acting the way he does because-” “You can stop that... I don’t really care what you think of me.” Astar said in a cold tone of voice while interrupting the other’s meaningless rambling about. “Woow~ You have a really cool boss, he says this hasn’t affected him.” Weiss remarked while floating around again with a casual smile on his face. “Sir, I’m really sorry about saying that... I was just...” Ezikiel ignored Weiss completely and focused solely on his employer that. He couldn’t tell what was possibly going on inside Astar’s head and in all honesty he didn’t really want to know in the first place...
