Chapter 19: A Killer SnowmanShortly after noon, and two more inches of snow has accumulated on Channing. The doorbell at 393 Ross Street chimes once, twice, and three times. Jonah and Sandy are upstairs in their bedroom reading, snuggled shoulder to shoulder, enjoying words, sentences, and paragraphs, having just enjoyed Willa’s lunch: tomato soup with grilled toasted cheese sandwiches. Of course, Jake and Soozie Butterfly are in the basement doing who knows what, probably each other while smoking pot. Willa is in the kitchen, already preparing something for dinner; her choice, applying the numerous culinary classes she has taken. Bobo and Magnum are in the bathroom, showering, probably humping under a hot spray, although Jonah cannot hear them.
