Following the viewing of Fight Club, Willa, Bobo, and Magnum head home to Elm Street, which is just seven blocks away. Pam slips into bed beside Bill on the opposite side of the house. Soozie Butterfly decides to spend the night with Jake in the basement, which isn’t uncommon these days since she claims to be in love with the young man; her pot prince in shining armor.
Upstairs, inside Jonah’s childhood bedroom, Jonah cuddles next to his fiancé. On his left ass cheek is a suntan-like burn, a smudge of aloe lotion, a square of gauze that is probably unneeded, and medical tape. Outside the wind whips as the snowstorm heightens. A hollow sound echoes within the night. The time narrows on midnight.
