CHAPTER 13 : IN THE ROGUE'S PACK

680 Words
AUTHOR'S POV Anthony and his warriors had been galloping on their horses for a long time, led by Aradia, the Witch of the Crescent Moon pack. The night was very cool, even though it was not raining or snowing. Aradia pulled the reins and the horse she was riding came to a stop. Anthony and his warriors, seeing Aradia stop, also immediately stopped. "We shall continue on foot from here," Aradia informed them, climbing down from the horse she was riding. "Why?" Anthony asked, still on top of his horse. "Just do as I have said," the witch replied. Anthony, with no other choice, gestured commandingly to his warriors to dismount their horses, and they immediately obeyed his order, each jumping down from their horses. Once on the ground, they led their horses to a spot close by, where there were some trees, and tied their horses to the trees. Anthony did the same, as did the witch. They resumed the journey on foot, following the witch closely. They were trekking, still carrying their kerosene lamps as a means to see. The night was silent, with the only sounds being the rustling of leaves as they walked, the gentle breeze, and the chirping of insects. They were currently making their way through a dense bush. They walked and walked, still following the witch as she led the way, without any of them uttering a word. Seconds turned to minutes, and their kerosene lamps began to dim as the fuel was running out, but they continued walking. Minutes turned to hours, and they kept walking, from bush to bush, still being led by the witch. The witch had her eyes closed the entire time they were walking. She seemed to be saying some incantation, but no sound was being heard, and only her mouth was moving, as if she was talking. "We have been walking for hours now. Where is this place we are going that we couldn't have used the horses? When are we actually going to reach our destination? Couldn't you just open a magical portal so we can just enter and appear at the exact place?" Anthony's deep voice broke the silence, but Aradia ignored him, as if she hadn't heard him, and she kept moving her mouth and continued walking. The witch's ignoring of his question made Anthony feel disrespected. If it weren't for the fact that the witch was leading him to the stone, he would have ordered her head to be cut off. Anthony doesn't tolerate nonsense. He and his warriors continued following her, as she was his only choice of getting his hands on the stone. One by one, their lamps went off until no lamp was left on, as their fuel had all finished. The full moon then began serving as a means of light for them as they continued walking. They walked for a few more minutes and made a stop after the witch did at a spot. Standing before them was a very tall mountain, which even with their wolf eyes, they could not see the top of. Anthony and his warriors stared at the witch, expecting her to say something. The witch opened her eyes, sniffed the air, and then looked up. Anthony and his warriors followed her gaze up but saw nothing other than large black walls in front of them. "The Dajbog's stone is located at the top of this mountain, I can feel it," the Witch said. Anthony sighed. "You really must be thinking I'm a little boy you would be playing with. How can a stone move from the Moonlight pack to the top of this mountain?" Anthony gritted his teeth, as he was getting angry. "That I don't know, but I can feel it here. The stone is at the top of this mountain. I can feel it and I..." Aradia suddenly stopped talking, closed her eyes again, and sniffed the air weirdly. Then she opened her eyes again, "I can feel the stone, Anthony, but I feel some dark powers surrounding the stone."
