CHAPTER 19 : MOUNTAIN TOP

1006 Words
▒ AUTHOR'S POV ▒ A portal glowing a golden color appeared at the top of the mountain. One by one, Anthony's warriors stepped out of it until all of them were out. Then Anthony emerged, followed by the witch Aradia. As soon as she stepped out of the portal, it closed and vanished. The first thing Anthony noticed on the mountaintop was a house. "Now I'm starting to truly believe you. But who the hell would build a house here?" he asked. The house was still a distance away, but they could see it clearly with their wolf eyes. "I do not know who owns the house or why they chose to build it here, but I do know that whoever lives there has dark powers running through their veins like blood and possesses Dajbog's Stone," the witch replied. "What could the person be doing with the Dajbog's stone?" Anthony wondered to himself. He had no answer to his own question right then. Well, that wasn't even his main goal; his goal was to obtain the stone tonight and use it to achieve his other goals. "Like I told you earlier, old witch, I, Anthony Reyes, don't care what power the person with the stone has. All I care about is getting that stone," he said to Aradia. Turning to his warriors, he commanded, "Get ready. We're going into that house, and we're coming out with the stone. No matter the challenges or obstacles we face, there will be no retreating and no surrender. Fight with all you've got, kill any living thing you see, show no mercy! All I need is the stone, and I need to get it tonight. Is that clear?" "Yes, lord," the warriors replied in unison. "Did I make myself clear?" Anthony asked again. "Yes, lord!" the warriors replied. "Good. Now let's get going. Move!" Anthony ordered, and his warriors proceeded toward the house. Anthony joined them, but he stopped as he noticed that the witch was not following them; she stood still in her position. "Why do you still stand there? Come on, we have to get to that house," he gestured for her to join them. "I won't. My job is to lead you to the stone, and that I have done. I will wait here," she told Anthony. Anthony sighed and continued his way to the house, running after his warriors to catch up with them as they were some distance ahead of him. Finally, he caught up with them, and after a few minutes of running, they reached the house. The entrance of the house was closed. They observed the surroundings, and everything was quiet; no one was around. Anthony gently pushed the entrance door, but it was locked from the inside. He divided his warriors into two unequal parts. The smaller group was to stay outside and surround the house, while he and the rest would break in. With bone-cracking and reforming sounds, they shifted into their wolf forms. Anthony, in his wolf form, broke down the door, and he and the warriors he had chosen to go inside with him moved into the house. The door's loud bang echoed in the quiet night, but Anthony didn't care. Inside the house, Anthony noticed rooms on the ground floor and stairs leading to more rooms upstairs. So, again, he divided his warriors into two equal parts. The warriors he had chosen to search for the stone on the ground floor began breaking into different rooms, while Anthony and the rest proceeded upstairs. Despite all the noise they had made so far, there was still no sign of a living thing in the house, let alone someone with dark powers, just as the witch had said. The only thing indicating that someone was living there were the old, worn-out properties in the house. The warriors on the ground floor broke into and scattered All the Rooms, searching for the stone, but there was no sign of it. You might ask how they would be able to identify the stone if they saw it, since no one knows what it looks like? Well, though no one knows how the stone looks, legend has it that it glows at night, and werewolves believe it must be some kind of crystal-like stone. That's what they were searching for - a glowing stone that might look like a crystal. Anthony and the rest of his warriors, who were upstairs, began breaking into different rooms and scattering in search of the stone. Their main aim was to get the stone, not the person with dark powers as the witch had described, but they were ready to attack and kill them if they saw them. There were more rooms upstairs than downstairs. They continued breaking into and scattering different rooms, but still didn't find the stone, not even anything close to it. The only glowing things in the house were candles and fiery wooden torches. The house looked as old as one could ever imagine, in fact, as old as their ancestors. The warriors on the ground floor waited for Anthony and the other warriors who were upstairs. Anthony and his warriors, apart from those on the ground floor and those outside the house, searched and searched, scattered and scattered, but still no stone. They didn't even see an insect in the house, let alone a person with dark powers. Since there were still rooms they had not searched, they continued breaking in, scattering the rooms, and searching for the stone until finally, only one room remained. The stone must surely be in this room, since they had searched the other rooms in the house and had not seen the stone, right? And it should also be the room where the person with dark powers, as described by the witch, would be, right? But why had he not attacked them, with all the noise they had made and how they were scattering and damaging his home? Was he afraid of them?
