▒ AUTHOR'S POVl ▒
"We have been standing here for minutes with you repeatedly closing and opening your eyes, saying something we can't even hear, and sniffing the air like a dog. Are you sure that Dajbog's stone is at the top of this mountain?" Anthony asked the witch, Aradia.
Aradia opened her eyes, turned to Anthony, and nodded.
"How sure are you?"
"Are you doubting my powers?" Her voice sounded annoyed.
"With everything happening right now, you can't blame me for doubting your powers. First, you told me the stone was in the Moonlight Pack, and after destroying the Moonlight Pack, now you say it’s on top of this mountain. Look around. Who in this world would be living here, isolated in the pack, let alone on top of this mountain? So, answer me: how sure are you that the stone is up there?" Anthony asked, pointing at the mountain top.
"I'm very sure. My magic never lies to me. I'm 100 percent sure."
"Good! Now tell me, how on earth are we going to climb to the top of this mountain tonight?" Anthony asked.
Aradia turned her back on him, ignoring his question. She closed her eyes again and began her silent incantation, her lips moving without a sound. She stretched her hand up into the air and opened her palm wide.
Anthony was getting tired and increasingly angry at what he saw as useless theatrics. He believed the witch could simply transport them to where the stone was without all this drama.
A breeze began to blow, followed by a flash of lightning without thunder. The breeze intensified, blowing dust and debris into the faces and eyes of Anthony and his warriors. They shielded their eyes with their hands to avoid the dust.
Suddenly, a long wooden staff appeared in Aradia's palm, topped with a blue glowing crystal. She touched the staff to the ground, and the breeze stopped. Her eyes opened, glowing blue like the crystal.
She slowly turned to face Anthony and his warriors, who stepped back slightly in fear. Another flash of lightning lit up the area, but again, there was no thunder. Her eyes slowly returned to normal, but the crystal on the staff continued to glow.
"I need some time to prepare a portal that will lead us to the top of the mountain," she told Anthony.
"You need time to prepare a portal, which any witch could do with a snap of their fingers? Anyway, be quick about it. I need to get that stone tonight, and it shouldn't take longer than that," Anthony replied.
"I promise I will lead you to the stone, but I can't assure you that you will get it. As I said earlier, I feel a dark force surrounding the stone that I still can't identify."
"Look, old witch," he said loudly, pointing a finger at Aradia. "I don't care if a dark force is surrounding the stone or not. Whatever force is protecting it, I will destroy it and take the stone. Even if the devil himself is guarding it, I will kill him and take it. So please, focus on your duty and lead me to the stone," Anthony growled, his face contorted with anger.
The witch sat on the ground, picked up some sand, placed it on her palm, and spat on it. She began her incantation again. Anthony and his warriors stood waiting.
The sand in her palm slowly began to transform. After a few seconds, it turned into a golden ring. She stood up, placed the ring on the ground, struck it with her staff, and a large portal opened.
"This portal will lead us to the top of the mountain. Please, one by one, enter the portal," the witch gestured for them to walk through. Anthony gestured for his warriors to enter first. One by one, his warriors stepped into the portal until only Anthony and Aradia were left. Anthony entered the portal, and immediately after, Aradia followed. The portal closed and disappeared.
