▒ AUTHOR'S POV ▒
With full force, Anthony broke the door of the remaining room open. He and his warriors rushed into the room with speed, but to their disappointment, there was nobody in the room either. They searched the room but still didn't find the stone, not even anything close to what they believed it would look like.
HOW COULD THAT BE POSSIBLE?
Anthony shifted back to his human form. He walked to the window and noticed a red rope tied from the window frame to the ground. He saw some of his warriors stationed close to where the rope touched the ground.
"Did you see anyone trying to escape? Any strangers come your way?" He mind-linked the warriors who were near the spot where the rope touched the ground.
"No, my lord. We saw nobody. Since we arrived, no one has passed through here, not even an insect."
"Are you sure?"
"Yes, my lord."
"You better be telling me the truth, because if I find out you're lying, you'll be six feet in the ground."
"I'm telling the truth, my lord."
Anthony broke the mind-link.
"f**k!" he growled.
"Lord, do you need our help? We are done searching downstairs. We did not see the stone or anyone. All we found were some old, worn-out properties," one of his warriors downstairs informed him.
He didn't reply; he ignored him.
"How could this be possible? Does this mean that Aradia was lying to me? She told me the stone was here, and not just the stone but also a person with dark powers. But no one is here, not even the stone. Was this why she refused to follow us here?" Anthony wondered.
"You and you," he pointed out two of his warriors, his voice filled with anger, "bring me the witch! If she refuses to willingly follow you, forcefully drag her here. I don't care how you do it, just do it." The two warriors bowed and left the room.
He walked frustratingly around the room, his mind filled with many thoughts. He then sat on the bed, running his hand through his hair out of frustration and anger.
The warriors he sent to fetch Aradia returned with her. She had not resisted them, walking willingly from her previous position to the room after they informed her that Anthony called her.
As soon as Anthony saw her, he stood up and walked angrily toward her.
"What the hell is all this? What kind of prank are you playing with me, bastard?" he cursed angrily at Aradia, standing in front of her.
"What is the problem? Where is the stone?" Aradia asked. But Anthony didn't reply; he gave her a very angry look, showing he was on the verge of losing control. "What is going on here?" the witch added.
"I think I should be asking you that! What is going on? Where the f**k is my stone?" he asked, gritting his teeth, his rage-filled eyes narrowing.
"The stone must be somewhere in this house. My magic detected its presence here a few minutes ago, so what—"
"If your useless power detected it here, then where is it? Find it for me right now," he commanded angrily, his nails growing longer and his fangs now visible.
Aradia stepped away from him. She tapped her long staff on the floor of the room 15 times and began speaking incantations, though no sound came from her mouth. The blue glowing crystal on the top of the staff changed to red, glowing with a red light.
She continued speaking her incantations, her voice now a whisper. It grew louder and louder until everyone could hear her, but they still did not understand what she was saying.
She suddenly stopped, opening her eyes wide in shock.
"How? How could this be possible? I can't detect the stone anymore. It's no longer here," her face was still filled with shock.
Anthony chuckled evilly and angrily.
"You must think I'm a fool. You first told me the stone was in the Moonlight Pack. After killing the whole pack, you told me it was here. Now, after searching for it, you have the f*****g guts to tell me the Dajbog's Stone is no longer here?" Anthony said in anger. "Nobody has left this building since we arrived, so how come the stone is not here?"
"My lord, I'm not sure of the answer to that question. I can't feel the presence of the stone here anymore or the presence of the dark power protecting it, so I'm confused. I believe the person with dark powers detected our presence and disappeared into thin air using their dark powers."
Anthony's blood kept boiling in anger. If not for the fact that he still needed Aradia's help to get the stone, with the level of anger he felt, he would have killed her on the spot.
"Who is this person with dark powers, and where are they now with the stone?"
"I can't tell who the person is. It seems they shielded their identity with their powers or maybe a spell. But as for the stone, I will try to detect where it is now, but I need hours to do that."
"Hours?"
"A few hours," the witch replied.
Anthony growled in anger. He walked back to the bed and kicked the bedside in frustration before sitting down.
"Detect the location of that f*****g stone for me now! I swear on my blood, I will kill whoever is making it hard for me to get my hands on that stone," he growled.
The witch sat on the floor of the room and began speaking incantations to detect the Dajbog's Stone.
Now the question I would ask: Where the hell are Colton and Amelia?
