I went out of my room after taking a quick shower. My mind was confused and couldn't process what I just discovered minutes ago. I didn't know why or how did that happen. I couldn't imagine him with me but there was this feeling that attracting me to him.
I saw my friends bothering the cook and I could still smell him. His scent still lingers in the house even though he wasn't there anymore, and it seemed like it was measuring my ability to restrain myself from finding him.
I shuddered thinking of hugging him and sniffing him until I got tired of that intoxicating scent. I felt dizzy but it was bearable.
I licked my lips and curled my hands into fists as I sighed. I cleared my throat catching all their attention. Gwen was the first one to react and screamed, announcing to the world that it was my birthday. She almost wakes the dead! I silently thanked Brett for poking Gwen's head making her glare at him.
"Happy birthday, man." Todd said extending his hand on the air and I slapped it with mine, laughing.
"Thanks." I said and everyone greeted me after. I didn't really want to celebrate my birthday, especially when grandma wanted a party as if I was a girl who turned eighteen. Grandma would say that we only turn eighteen once every time I refute her. Oh goddess.
"I'm only here for the foods." Brett said, grinning and I shook my head. I know they all were.
We went outside to help because grandma wanted to celebrate it outside when we bumped into Jack who was walking back inside with heavy feet and with a sulking face. He glared at me making me frown.
What the hell's wrong with him?
I grabbed his arm when we passed each other making him stop walking and my friends continued to walk leaving us on the porch.
"Why are you looking at me like that?" I asked because I didn't want to have a misunderstanding with my twin.
"Yeah? Why don't you ask yourself?" He said and continued to glare at me.
"I'm asking you because I don't fvcking know." I said patiently. I didn't want to lose my cool.
"You kept on doing it again and again. What the hell's wrong with you?" He sounded pissed and I didn't understand what I just did to make him act like that.
Please, I don't like answering riddles.
"What the hell's wrong with me? I don't even know what you're talking!" I didn't want to raise my voice to Jack but he was really getting in my nerves. So much for not losing my cool.
"Boys, everything okay?" We both turned our heads to dad who was talking to his people who were checking what was going on. I released my hold of Jack's arm and nodded at dad.
"You did a good job chasing Rain away, again." Jack said before walking into the house and I looked at him confused.
"So, it's my fault why he flew somewhere far here?" I walked after him.
"Yeah. Because you're the only factor why he shouldn't be here. Why do you keep on bullying him? When will you ever grow up?"
"What the fvck! I didn't bully him! I didn't even lay a finger at him!"
"But you gave him those go away looks!" He turned to me and sighed. "Let's stop arguing. Just don't talk to me for a minute."
I watched him climb the stairs with his heavy feet and I just ran my fingers through my hair. We always argue about him, about Rain before and it was happening again now that he was back and I couldn't help but hate him.
"Hey." I turned around when I heard Greg, one of my friends. "You guys okay?"
"Yeah." I said and sighed.
"Your grandma sent me to check you guys." He said and I nodded. "You're not having a fight during your birthday, right?" I just looked at him and he sighed. "I guess you are."
"I think grandma's looking for you now." I said.
"Yeah? And you're not helping us?"
"I'm not—" I was cut when Greg held my arm and forcefully dragged me outside no matter how I told him that I would be going with him even without him dragging me.

The lawn was filled with people during lunchtime. I didn't even go outside and I only stayed in the living room with my friends. We were watching a movie, at the same time eating when grandma Cathy walked in. Brett eyed me and I fought myself not to roll my eyes.
"Zach, honey, the crowds are looking for you." Grandma said making me growl silently.
"Let Jack handle it." I said and she gave me that strick grandma pose and glare that could make dad shook when he was still a kid. That was what he told me before. "Okay." I said and her face immediately lightened up.
Todd, just because his back was facing grandma, laughed at me silently and I just wanted to smack his face with a shoe.
Jack was already there, talking with the familiar people and they all turned to look at me and clapped. What the hell, it was so awkward. I mean, why are they clapping? Did I just win a lottery?
My eyes met with daddy and he was clapping his hands so fast like a little naïve pup, and dad who was beside him only smiled.
"Let's sing a happy birthday song!" Grandma announced.
"Uh, please, you don't have—" I was cut when the pack of wolves in human form started singing in chorus. "Oh, God." I muttered and I tried to shut my ears but I wasn't Jack. I didn't even know if he could completely shut the noise.
I roamed my eyes around the crowd and my eyes seemed to look at a certain someone even though I knew he wasn't there because I couldn't smell him. My eyes widen when I realized I was searching for Rain. Rain! I sneered.
What has come to me!
Why the hell am I searching for him?
My heart suddenly beats faster when a small hint of his unique smell caught my nose. My eyes found him hiding behind a tree. It was good that I was standing at the two steps elevated porch so I could see him clearly without the crowd blocking my sight.
I never took my eyes away from his and so was him for I didn't know how long and didn't notice that the birthday song was long finished when someone bumped my shoulder making me jump in horror.
"Fvck!" I exclaimed at grandma who just slapped my shoulder.
"What are you staring blankly for?" She said.
"Nothing." I said and looked back to where I saw Rain but he wasn't there anymore. "Umm. . ." I muttered when grandma was about to turn around, but she faced me again.
"Yes, honey?"
I was about to ask her something about what Rain and me have, but. . .
"Nothing." I changed my mind. Maybe I'll ask later since it wasn't the best place.

I had time to sleep a few hours after lunch. I pulled my phone from the back pocket of my jeans which I forgot to get when I slumped lazily on my bed. I looked at the time. It was still early in the evening and I was waiting for Brett's call for tonight's activity. I sat and removed my jeans that were suffocating my legs and threw them on the floor. It felt better without pants and threw myself back to the bed.
I kinda felt lazy standing up for dinner just when I heard a couple of knocks from the door. It was daddy. I could smell him.
I stood and opened the door without wearing a short, just my boxers. I cracked a lazy smile at daddy.
"You okay?" He asked.
"Yeah." I said. "Why, everything's okay?"
"Yes, everything's fine. You go down after you dress up properly for dinner."
"Okay." I said, leaning on the door frame. "Um. . ." I muttered when daddy was about to turn around.
"Yes?" Daddy asked with a gentle smile.
"What if. . . I don't like my mate?" I didn't even know why did I ask that. That question just popped out of the place called nowhere inside my mind so suddenly.
"You don't like your mate?" He just repeated my question with a confused look on his face.
"Okay, let me rephrase that. How did you like dad when you knew he was your mate?"
I heard from grandma, she said that dad and daddy used to hate each other. They were oil and water, cat and dog, Tom and Jerry, Oggy and the Cockroaches and other programs related. Haha.
Daddy laughed. "You'll learn to love your mate." He smiled and I bet he remembered the first time they met each other then his face changed. "Wait. Did you find your mate?" He suddenly sounds excited, his eyes sparkling.
I scratched my nape even though it wasn't itchy. "Uh, sort of. I guess." I said, hesitant.
"You don't like your mate?"
I didn't really hate him. I was just jealous, maybe because Jack's always on his side. I just realized that!
Daddy tapped my shoulder when I didn't answer. "Don't let your mate suffer. Try to really get to know that person and there's a reason why that person became your mate. Don't reject your mate because I swear, it feels so bad and I also don't want you to experience it also."
"Did dad rejected you?" I asked and daddy nodded. I couldn't even imagine dad rejecting daddy because he was so head over heels with daddy. He does everything that daddy says. Dad's a slave of love.
"He did." He cracked a smile. "He—I mean, we really hated each other before to the pointed that we always fight every time we met. We even tried to kill each other when we turned thirteen." Daddy chuckled. "We found it hard to believe. He even said that he refused to accept me as his mate and I felt like dying inside hearing those words even though I also wanted to say the same. So, don't do what your asshole dad did to me to Rain, okay?" He ruffled my hair and I usually tilt my head because I felt like a kid when he does that.
But then I realized what he just said.
"Did you just say Rain?" I was surprised. How did he know?
"Yes. He's your mate right?" Daddy said, grinning.
"How did you. . !"
"Come on, you're so obvious, and I saw you staring at him. . . with lustful eyes." He whispered the last three words making my face heated up.
"I fvcking didn't!" I exclaimed and daddy just laughed at me.
"You're blushing. You should learn to control your lust and your wolf, Zachy." Daddy teased and I just wanted to go back to my room.
"I don't know what you're talking. I think I need a shower and you guys should eat dinner without me. I'm not that hungry." I said with my face heating up and went inside immediately without giving daddy a chance to speak.
Did I really look at Rain with lustful eyes like what daddy said?
I must have gone insane!
