Divorce

"What's going on here?" A deep male voice sounded and everywhere immediately went as quiet as a graveyard. "What else? Your sister thinks that I'm below her." Mira told Jason wondering what he would do in this situation. "I didn't!" Eli protested and immediately began to cry, "I really didn't do it!" She ran into Jason's embrace. Someone came forward and explained the situation which made Jason frown in displeasure, "Do you have proof?" He turned to meet Mira's gaze. "Proof?" She chuckled, "These are proof" She pointed at her bloody arm with claw marks, "Or you think I gave this wounds to myself?" She snorted. "Its not impossible. Everyone here knows how much you hate her." At his words Mira saw how the others started to doubt her as they looked between her and Eli wondering who was lying. She clenched her fists by her side. Taking a step forward towards Jason, a crisp sound of flesh being hit followed and everyone froze and went quiet. Extremely quite. As if there was not a soul present. She slapt him! She finally did one of the things she really wanted to do after waking up and... She couldn't describe how satisfying it felt. "What did you just do?" Jason took an intimidating step forward. His eyes were already red with anger. A growl left his lips. "Ha!" Mira laughed, "I'm your wife, Jason. In case you have forgotten that little fact. Yet here I am wounded by your sister and you dare to say I did it myself? A true Alpha will investigate and find out the truth before taking a side but you... You know what?" She raised a hand as if in surrender, "Let's get a divorce!" Ignoring Jason's shocked gaze trained on her, the whispers of the people and all the gossips, she stormed inside, heading straight for her room. A smile formed on her lips the moment she closed the door and leaned on it. She was right about one thing. Jason could not bear to lose her at this moment. Seeing the slight fear that flashed in his face for a moment was proof. Of course she wouldn't really divorce him now, that wouldn't let her have her befitting revenge. She had to be with him every step of the way and slowly crush him until he could not longer stand on his own. She was going to destroy his pack, this one he cherished so much, the one she build up to this state from the moment he had taken her as his chosen mate and they got married. She would strip his Alpha title from him and turn him into garbage until she was satisfied. Although he hasn't done much harm to her in this present life but he was already planning to. He had his plan laid out and that includes killing her. A knock on the door made her startled. She could tell it was Jason's beta from the scent that wafted into her nostrils. She opened the door. "I came to treat your wo..." "No thanks, its healing already." She closed the door back on his face as if she was really angry but only the goddess knew. "Luna, we are all on your side, Alpha is just confused I'm sure he'll come back to his right seses..." "Leave, Andy." She said coldly. After a long while, she heard his footsteps and it faded away. "Such a faker!" She snorted. She remembered it was him who led the guards in on her after Eli ordered them to take her. She was accused of murder and this same beta stood there without question and watched as she was being executed. They weren't exactly close but she thought they had a good relationship then but now she could see clearly. That was all in her imaginations. Mira spotted the calendar hanging on the wall. She moved closer to it, her eyes moving past the dates of each day and finally rested on one. 7th of May. That was the day she had a big task to do. She was going to save someone and that person in turn will become her ally. Someone who could make her stronger and more powerful with just enough influence. The legendary Alpha. She circled the date with a marker and laid on her bed. Her eyes closed as she slowly plotted her next step. Remove Eli. That was it. And she had to do this without making herself look bad. The packs support was something that will be very helpful to her in the future so she couldn't let them think bad of her. Eli had the ability to turn the pack against her. That's why she had to leave. She could make Jason remove her. She bet it wouldn't be that simple but if that doesn't work... She curved her lips into a wicked smile. If it doesn't work, she will have no other choice than to set her up. Didn't they like to do that to her? Well, good thing is she learnt fast. She was a good Samaritan in her previous life. Always tried to do things the right way but where did that get her? This time, she didn't mind turning into the villain as far as she gets what she wants. Damn it! She had no idea scheming against people was so thrilling. Meanwhile, at Jason's side... He paced around in his room only stopping when his beta entered. "What did she say?" Andy shook his head with a sigh, dropping the bag on his hands, "She seemed really angry alpha. I think you overdid it." Jason sighed, running his fingers through his hair, "I will never give her a divorce!" "Not if she forces you to. Remember her father..." "I know, okay?" Jason interrupted him with an annoyed growl. There was a knock on the door and Eli came in looking very worried. "I'm sorry." She bowed her head. Jason couldn't stand seeing her so sad. Even though he was annoyed, he still pulled her into his arms. "I know." He pulled away to look at her, "Tell me, what really happened? You aren't the type to lose your cool and do that to her in a public space. Putting yourself out there." Compared to how he looked at Mira, his gaze was filled with love and tenderness for this woman and then something else, hidden in the depth of his eyes. "Something's different about her." Eli narrowed her eyes as she thought about it, "The way she looks at me." "What do you mean?" "She gave that injury to herself just like you said. When you came in and defended me, she seemed angry and slapt you then asked for a divorce." "Isn't it normal to be angry in that situation?" Said Jason. Puzzled about what she was trying to imply. "It is." Eli nodded, "But I have a bad feeling about this. That look she gave me sent me chills." She looked at him, "We have to be extra careful from now on. I think she already sensed something and she's trying to counter it by doing this." "Luna is not the type of person to do something as scary as giving herself an injury just to frame you." Andy chimed in. "Then you think I'm lying?" Eli glared at him. "You two. Stop it." Jason commanded, "The task at hand now is to make sure she gets her head from this divorce thing and we can talk about the rest later." Eli smiled at Jason. She tip toed to give him a peck on the cheeks and said, "I know what to do brother." Then she left leaving him with his beta. "You know very well, Luna isn't that kind of person." Andy started. He strongly believed this because he had seen her so many times being so annoyingly nice to people who don't even deserve it. She had a simple mind and he could say that he understood how her mind works. He couldn't say thesame for Eli and that's why it was hard for him to believe this. "People change Andy, you never know when. We just have to be on our guard and focus on the important task. Our main goal must be carried out soon." "I understand." He bowed and left. Jason watched him leave with narrowed eyes. He started to think deeply about this. Mira has been his wife for years now so he knew her well or maybe he thought so? She was a quiet person normally except for the time she needed to socialize. She could handle politics way better than him and that was her strength. It is also the thing that irked him up about her. She wasn't the type to raise her voice at him, disagree with him in public or display such temper and she wasn't a submissive woman either. She was... rational, matured. But now... He couldn't say the same. In just a few days he noticed the change in her. Her eyes that was usually filled with love when she looked at him was gone replaced by only coldness. She use to be ecstatic if he gave her just a tiny bit of his attention but now, that didn't seem to be the case. It was from that moment she announced to everyone that she didn't hate Eli and it was only the stress of duties that came with being a luna, weighing her down and making her act out that he started to doubt her. Well, he knew that was a lie. He knew better than anyone else that she didn't like Eli. In fact, they hated each other so why had she pretended to be nice to her? Except she wasn't all they thought she was all this while. A fool. "Mirabel..." He called letting his lips curve into a smirk, "What are you up to?"
