Dinner date

It was the weekend in the blink of an eye. In the evening time, Mira arrived in front of a luxurious mansion that was so familiar to her. The guards and maids immediately greeted her and welcomed her home. They led her towards the dining where her father was already waiting.

She was surprised as he was the only one sitting there. She thought the others will be present too but this seems more like a private dinner.

She went over with a huge smile on her face and kissed both of his cheeks.

"Look at you. Why do you look so thin?"

"Do I?" She peered down at herself and laughed. She wanted to take the seat beside him but he stopped her and pointed to the seat opposite, "Sit over there."

She didn't bother asking why and just took the seat. The food was already served but no one was eating. They were both waiting for one person, which was the guest he wanted her to meet. This made her furrow her brows in displeasure.

This person surely is rude, to keep them waiting like this.

The aroma from the food made its way into her nostrils and she found herself sighing and being impatient. Just when she thought she couldn't take it, the door opened and the maids led two ridiculously handsome men in.

One with brown hair and the other with black hair. Her eyes landed on the brown haired guy first and she recognized him instantly. She remembered his name too. It was the beta if that pack. Casper!

She tried to hide her shock as her eyes moved to the other man with black hair. He was more than handsome. If there was another word to surpass the word handsome, she'd use it. His features were so ethereal but dark in a way that you'd just want to stay away from him.

Her heart started to beat faster than usual and in that moment, she heard her wolf say the word 'Mate'. She almost couldn't control her wolf's excitement and had to close her eyes for a while to focus 'Calm down, Leia. Let's not be rash' She told her wolf and thankfully she listened not without a grumble though.

She watched as he came closer, naturally taking the seat besides her. She took a gulp of her saliva and shifted her gaze to her dad who well... Wasn't looking at her. His gaze was fixed on this man.

A slight smile on his face as he said, "You're here?"

"Mmmm..." The man replied and Mira couldn't help but frown.

Why was he so cold? The close proximity they were in made her unable to sit still. She wanted to get closer to him, touch him. No it was her wolf who wanted to do all those things to him.

'Pretend Mira, I have to pretend like I don't now we are mates. Yeah that was the best and safest thing to do at the moment.'

"We meet again." Casper smiled at her and she finally shifted her attention to him.

She smiled sweetly, "I never thought I will see this pretty of yours again." She joked but the growl that came from beside her made her almost jump out of her seat.

"I see you already know each other." Her father said then pointed at the black haired man, "This is Henrick Conall, Alpha of the night demon pack and alpha rick, this is my daughter. She's the luna of blood moon pack as you already know." He introduced them.

Alpha of the night demon pack, her mate? Mira didn't know if she hid her shock well. She looked up at him.

"Nice to meet you, alpha Henrick." She smiled sweetly and outstretched her hands for a handshake.

"Its Rick." He told her, taking her hands and kissing the back of it. His gaze held hers for a long while that Mira started to panick.

"Is there something wrong, alpha Hen... Rick?"

" No." He said and finally averted his gaze.

They all started to eat but Mira could feel his gaze constantly on her. She did her best to ignore it. Chanting the mantra in her head 'Pretend'. But he should know right? Why wasn't he saying or doing anything? That left her puzzled.

"You married quite early. Why did you chose him?" He finally said something breaking the awkward silence that filled the room.

"I just felt it was right." She shrugged her shoulders.

"Without searching for your mate?" He was now looking at her seriously. She could see a hint of anger in his eyes making her gulp.

"I didn't want one." She told him, staring back at him seriously and it took all of her will power not to look away from his dark eyes, his dark expression as she said that and the dangerous aura he was now emitting. It looked as if he was suppressing that aura all this while.

Alpha Rick looked into her eyes that held seriousness. It didn't look like she was joking but he also felt as if she was trying to pass a message. She didn't want a mate?

He clenched his fists by his side as he heard her say that.

He waited for her everyday and now, when he finally found her, she said she didn't want a mate. Ha. He wondered if the goddess was trying to punish him for all the sins he has committed.

'You're going to scare her if you keep letting your emotions control you Rick. Do something' His beta mind linked him making him avert his gaze from her and close his eyes.

He could barely control his wolf who just wanted him to get closer to her, take her in his arms and mark her as his!

He opened his eyes again and the dangerous aura he was letting out vanished completely like it was never there. He was good at this.

"I wonder what a mysterious Alpha like you is doing here. Do you happen to know my father?" Mira asked.

Last time she checked, her father had no project with the night demons pack so how did they know each other?
