CHAPTER FIVE

-CLEIN'S POV- In just a few minutes, I reached the torrents CC was mentioning. "There." Out of nowhere, the aforementioned woman appeared at my side, which surprised me. 'What the hell! Is this woman insane?' While Ninja whimpered, I inwardly rasped. I was still in my wolf form while she was in her f*****g naked splendor, and the sight was like a needle poking through my eyes. Snickering in my head, I took some distance back, raising her left brow. "Are you paying attention? This is what I meant. "The door to our freedom," she stated enthusiastically, resting her hands on both sides of her exquisite waist. She didn't give a damn about how she was displaying her perfect body in front of me. "What? Are you just going to stand there? Shift back right now!" My eyes dilated, and my canines gritted because I wasn't pleased with how she bossed me around. There were so many questions about her that rushed into my brain, but I opted to dismiss them because they were not my top priority at the time. With those thoughts in mind, I returned to my human form and faced her with a frown. "Now what?" Her brows lifted once again as she hummed and assessed my unclothed sweaty body. "You're hot, huh," she commented, smirking. "Too bad, I'm not into women." She winked at me before twirling around and eyeing the little falls a few yards away. "Follow me!" She marched towards the water's surface, creating splatters before swimming forward. A snicker chimed in my throat as I let out another big sigh. The brat is truly distinctive. 'Not into women, huh? As if she were my type!' Her beauty was unmistakable, but her demeanor reminded me of my sister. They were both annoying. 'Patience, Diane... more patience, please,' I calmed myself. To be honest, my alpha blood and Ninja resented being herded around, and even though I wanted to strangle the she-wolf I was with, I needed to calm myself because we had to get out of that revolting area first. When we are finally secure from those psychopathic wolves, then is the moment to confront her. After another gentle breath, I made my way to where CC was. I plunged into the water, and the chill gave me tingling sensations. Oh, yes. The water felt great, and as I went deeper, I felt invigorated. My throat tightened, so I drank a little to quench my hunger and thirst. How long has it been since I was kidnapped? I could hear my stomach gnawing at me, and I couldn't wait to get home or to Raven Stone for a festive feast. Yes, I will certainly do so! While my mind was preoccupied with grubs, I began to swim, but when I noticed CC nearing the falling waters, I cleared my brain and returned my attention to our dilemma. "Hurry up!" She waved at me before entering the small cave on the other side of the waterfalls. My annoyance level rose as I grumbled. "I swear, I'm going to break her neck the moment we step out of this place!" I muttered under my breath and swam more aggressively, only to come to a standstill as the sound of raucous footfall drew my attention. 's**t!' I mentally cursed and whipped my neck to where I could hear tremors on the ground. They're here! Ninja snarled to alert me of the presence of rogues. As a result, I dove under the water swiftly. I glided like a mermaid to the large boulder near the falls and hid behind it. I resurfaced barely half of my face and swallowed the large lump that arose in my throat as my chest raced rapidly. I kept my keen gaze fixed on who was approaching, and my eyes widened as I realized it was the scoundrels who had assaulted the omega slaves. "Pay attention to your surroundings and see what's around you. They're simply sheltering here!" A tall rogue with brow and lip piercings ambled out of the bushes, issuing commands to the two rascals and a mad wolf with a broken leash around his neck. 'f**k!' I sneered, hiding even more when they turned their attention to me. 'Damn it!' My jaw clenched, knowing that if they found me, I'd end up like their other victims. However, I would make certain that they lost limbs before touching my body. My thoughts drifted to CC, and my eyes widened even more. She's still in the cave, possibly waiting for me. With that, I prayed to the Moon Goddess to keep CC at bay and make her flee. 'You only think of yourself, brat! For the last time, simply think about your safety!' Still, the Goddess could have been resting and didn't hear my plea because I noticed CC's figure slowly stepping out of the pouring waters. She's returning to get me. My jaw constricted, and my entire body stiffened. 'What the hell! Please return!' How I wanted to scream at her, but I couldn't. I knew it would be suicide if I did that. If I behave rashly, I risk exposing both of us. "Look inside the cave! Maybe they knew about the secret tunnel!" The leader of the rogues roared to his men. No! I wheezed when I heard that. Someone snarled nearby, which was followed by the spattering sound of water. 'Freaking hell! Are you kidding me?' Alarmed, I ducked deeper behind the big boulder, nevertheless peering at CC. 'Please remain inside. They're coming to find us!' I wasn't afraid of those knuckleheads. Instead, I was worried about the she-wolf who had been my companion since I landed in Mad Wolf territory. If they catch us, I'm going to have to fight them because I'm not going to allow those sons of a f*****g b***h to touch a single hair on my body. The only problem I have is with CC. Maybe she's an obstinate and selfish brat with a tongue as sharp as Christine's Silveria sword, but I doubted she could stand up to the rogues and the mad wolves. I did not wish to see another woman slaughtered in front of me. Fortunately, the she-wolf inside the cave came to a halt and took a step back, making me extremely relieved. She seemed to sense that something was wrong. I took a deep breath. 'That's correct! Just go back and flee brat!' I didn't mind if she abandoned me. What matters is that she would be safe from danger. I could battle the rogues, and perhaps the mad wolf as well. And if given the opportunity to run away from those disgusting scumbags, I would do so. However, things quickly got out of hand when I overheard someone grunting on my left side. I held my breath as I realized immediately who it was. The mad wolf. He tracked me down! I moved rapidly, my heart pumping at an alarmingly fast pace. When the rascal swam towards me, I ducked beneath the water and scampered away. The foolish insane mutt rumbled and hustled after me. "There she is!" one of the rogues shouted to their master. As my head poked out of the water and I drifted away from my attacker, I hissed in contempt at them. 'Are those shitheads thinking they can catch me that easily? Guess what, dummy. You've just made a tremendous mistake by making me your prey!' I arrived at the water's edge in the blink of an eye. Ninja growled and braced herself for the looming apparition behind us. The mad wolf! I whirled around instinctively and caught the beast off unprepared. "Got ya!" I smacked him on the side of his neck with my elbow, causing a loud cracking sound. "Take this, asshole!" My leg followed, and I kneed him in the side, damaging his left ribs. The huge beast howled before falling back into the water and grasping his broken neck. One down! While catching my breath, I searched for the angry wolf's friends. It would be effortless for me to defeat the rogues because the mad wolf had already been beaten down. I searched the area and caught one of my next targets' surprised reactions as he observed how effortlessly I dealt with their hound. It was an opportunity for me to assault the vermin, but before I could act, I noticed how he lifted his rifle and pointed the muzzle at me. Nonetheless, it is insufficient to deflect the scorching blood of a woman raised in an alpha household. "Not so fast, rascal!" My lips curled up as I rasped. I leaped into the air, whirled around, and gave him a tornado kick, unconcerned about my nakedness in full daylight. The rogue and his rifle took off in the air. He collapsed into the scrubs and passed out. "You b***h!" An enraged voice echoed across the waterfalls. Rogue number two, who was writhing in a rage, charged at me and struck me with his sharp claws, but I easily blocked them with my crossed arms. "Tsk! Tsk! Is that all you have?" I snorted and booted him in the gut, causing him to jerk up before dropping to the rocky coast and kneeling in front of me. With a sneer on my lips, I drew his thick mane, tilted his head to the side, and delivered a strong punch to the face. I hummed contentedly as the pathetic weeping mongrel rolled his eyes backward and passed out. I let him go and went in pursuit of the rogue's boss, who I assumed was not far away. To my utter surprise, the freaking asshole shot me before I could even face him. The bullet passed through my right upper leg, causing me to wheeze due to the rapid affliction. What the- I got knocked to the ground sideways, and I immediately grasped my bleeding leg. I gritted my teeth and cursed, "s**t!" "Well, well, well, if it's not one of our special prey," a voice a few meters distant mocked. He shot me in the same leg without hesitation before I could raise my eyes and respond. "f**k! Oh my goodness!" As another bullet shredded my flesh, I yelled out in agony and growled under my breath. "Y-you f*****g rascal!" I barked and looked at him as he climbed a boulder. The mutt smirked. He moved ahead after leaping on the uneven turf. Ninja expressed a warning growl, disliking how the barbarous rogue was crossing his way slowly and menacingly. I summoned all of my power and courage, pulling myself together. With my wounded and shaky legs, I rose and braced myself for a fight. I bit my lower lip and gave the pacing hound an obstinate look. Regardless, my gunshot wounds throbbed like they were being slashed by a thousand knives. My knees unexpectedly buckled, much to my dismay. No! I lost my footing as my eyes widened. I was anticipating dropping to the ground, so I was shocked when a set of imposing arms wrapped around my waist and caught me. 'Oh, that was close!' My brow furrowed as I bowed my head in gratitude, wondering who had protected me from the fall. I was set to put my hands around whoever it was when my savior interfered. "Fancy meeting you in my humble lair, my Moon." When a ticklish, deep, monotonous voice whispered next to my ear, my breath seized from my throat and my pulse missed a beat. What the hell is going on?
