-Clein's POV-
"Boss!"
To say I was terrified is an understatement. It was great dread that I swear was written on the rogue who shot me's face as his bloodshot quivering eyes passed through my naked form and fell on the man behind me. Blinking in confusion, I murmured in my brain, 'Boss? 'Wait a second.'
I mistakenly assumed the man in front of us was the rogue's leader. Why is there another one?
"Kneel, pest," the so-called Boss, whose arms were around my waist, demanded in a bone-wrecking tenor instead of responding to the greeting.
To my total surprise, his subordinate immediately dropped to his knees and stooped down to the rough bottom. I forced down the lump in my throat. It's confirmed. It was the man who rescued me. He is the real commander of the rogues. As dismay permeated my entire body, my head swayed from side to side. I thought someone had come to my aid, but in the end, I fell into the hands of those crude and vicious wolves' rulers. Disgusted, I squirmed and attempted to pull myself away from the rogue's boss, but he wouldn't let me move even an inch.
"Be still, my whore." He tightened his grip on me even more.
My face contorted in bemusement. 'Did the mongrel just refer to me as his freaking w***e? Does he have a death desire or something?' I was going to lash out at him when my attention was drawn to something hard prodding my upper buttocks.
What on earth is that thing? I was perplexed once more because his rifle was on his side, so I was fairly certain it was not his gun.
Ninja giggles in the back of my head contributed to my perplexity.
'Damn it,' I yelled angrily at my wolf, which was a mistake because my gunshot wounds throbbed even more terribly. My nails sunk into the rogue's boss's arms as I breathed heavily for air.
It's excruciatingly painful! Was it a silver bullet that struck me?
"Is that pest aiming at you, my w***e?" "Would you like me to kill him?" The boss murmured in my ear, sending a trembling sensation down my spine.
He unhooked his right arm from my waist and gradually hoisted his weapon, aiming at his minion.
"What the heck!" I gasped, my eyes widening. "Are you insane?"
I'd always known they were cruel varmints, but what bothered me was how easy it is for them to erase someone's existence. And based on the tone of his speech, he's not joking.
The critter who wounded my leg's entire form stiffened before he crouched down and sobbed boisterously. "Please forgive me, boss!" I had no idea one of Charlie Moon's daughters was your woman. I'm not going to touch her again! Please, please, please spare my life!"
What I heard made my jaw drop.
What?
What is the lunatic jerk on about?
"I am no one's woman, you stupid mutt!" In a furious voice, I snarled at him. I had no intention of engaging myself with people like them or developing a friendship with the leader of the lunatic wolves.
The boss of the rogue hummed and spoke again. "Did he offend you with his idiotic words, my w***e?" "Do you want me to sever his tongue or rip him apart?" He murmured on the exposed flesh of my neck and put a little peck on my shoulder.
Something flared in the pit of my stomach and I inhaled harshly. "Stop it," I yelled at the man who was steadily causing havoc with my system. "I don't care if you m******e all your soldiers, you hear me? Just let me go-"
I hadn't finished my sentence when I felt something smelly touch my sensitive earlobe before being bitten by a set of fangs.
Oh my God!
To keep the moan in my throat at bay, I clinched my jaw and zippered my mouth shut.
Oh, no.
"Are you saying something, my w***e?" The rogue's boss murmured, and I felt the strange poking in my upper buttocks that made me flush bright crimson. Despite the fact that my chest vibrated, and my breathing became rapid, I quickly controlled myself.
No! I'm not going to be distracted. I will not be influenced by the jerk. That man is the Big Boss of those terrible beasts.
He is an adversary!
"Stop it!" I shouted at him and tried to break free from his powerful hands as he continued to tease me. "What do you believe you're doing?" Do you even know who I am, you perverted jerk?" Resentment risen to the surface of my mind. "I am a f*****g Moon!" You obnoxious mutt, a royal she-wolf that a lowlife rebel wolf like you has no right to touch!"
As soon as those obscenities escaped my tongue, the rogue's boss paused and stopped teasing my sensitive skin. His grip on me eased, causing Ninja to grumble and give me a cold shoulder.
Confusion flooded me, and I was about to ask her what her deal was when the rascal behind me unwound his arms around my waist and finally liberated me. "Bring Ms. Moon to the infirmary." "Tend her wounds and don't let my brothers get near her," he instructed his disciple.
My legs shook as I was taken aback, and I swiftly dropped to the bumpy ground.
Is he serious?
He's going to leave me in the care of that insane scoundrel who almost murdered me earlier?
Lifting my attention, I tried to catch a glimpse of the boss's face, but he swiftly turned around. I hadn't figured out who he was yet. But I had the opportunity to evaluate his other features.
He stands tall and has a well-toned figure. His sun-kissed skin was stained with an artistic tattoo while he was drenched in sweat, making him even more.... hot?
In disgust, I mentally cursed and roared at myself.
What the hell, Diane!
Stop flattering him. He's a f*****g bad guy!
I was preoccupied with those thoughts when I noticed the big boss moving and about to walk away when I called out to him.
"W-wait!" He can not abandon me.
To my relief, he came to a halt and stated in a menacing tone, "Just one little scratch, and he's dead. Rest well, my w***e, and I'll see you tonight." And then he continued marching away.
In helplessness, I exhaled and grunted, "Damn it!"
_______
WHILE AT THAT MOMENT, CC was trotting like there was no tomorrow, and she never looked back.
She escaped Mad Wolf's territory by using the passage inside the cave. She was panting vehemently, but she didn't dare to stop. She had no choice but to flee as fast as she could. To get as far away as her feet could carry her.
While darting through the uncharted jungle, she couldn't help but regret bolting away from their pack. Perhaps this is the cost of disobeying her elder brother. Yet, there is a part of her that believes she did the right thing.
Thanatos is a self-centered jackass. That he's the most horrible brother in the werewolf realm for selling her to the frantic Shade Sage. She hadn't seen or met the Shadow Stone's Alpha, but she had a sense he was more insane than Than.
That man is a moron for taking her as his bride simply because her name is similar to the Luna of the Raven Stone.
CC shook his head in disbelief.
He's f****d up!
An obsessive crazy jerk.
Even if Than disowns her, she'd never marry a person like him.
With all of those thoughts racing through her mind, she overlooked the fact that she was leaving the woodland and crossing a highway. She also failed to detect a car approaching until it was too late to avoid it.
CC grunted as the automobile hit her, sending her naked body flying into the air before landing a few meters away from the stated vehicle. She whimpered as her right hipbone prickled painfully. Her brain ceased working as a result of the impact. Groaning, she heard thuds followed by heavy footsteps advancing.
"Oh, hell! Miss, are you all right?" an imposing baritone voice inquired, anxious.
'I just got bumped, so definitely not.' Cc was contemplating shouting at him, but as soon as the man who had hit her knelt on her side and his gorgeous visage filled her view, those words wilted. Instead, she muttered, "Am I in heaven?"
The desirable man breathed out, relieved that she could still communicate. He murmured, "Not yet, Miss," after a few seconds. "I'm Shade Sage, and you're in my pack."
