Asper Reign’s POV
“Long time no see…”
“Oh f**k!” Muntik nang mahulog si Jyn sa railing ng balcony ko nang batiin ko siya habang prente akong nakaupo sa sofa na ipinalagay ko pa dito at nagkakape. “Asper!”
I smiled and put my cup on the table. “I have been waiting for you.”
Kumunot ang noo niya. “What?”
Tumayo ako at nilapitan siya. Akma pa nga siyang lalayo sa akin ngunit agad kong hinatak ang braso niya at niyakap niya. “It took you long enough to finally visit me.”
“Damn it!” This time he hugged me back and buried his face in my neck. “I missed you so much, Asper.”
“I missed you, too, Cee.” Alam kong hindi naging maganda ang huling pagkikita namin. I even said things that surely hurt his feelings. “Good thing you finally came here for me.” Bumitaw ako sa yakap at dumungaw sa ibaba kung saan nakatanga ang mga kasama ni Jyn habang nakatingala sa akin.
“What the hell, Asper?” ani Miracle. “H-how did you know that we are going here tonight?”
“Come inside and I will explain everything,” I said. “Manang Judith will guide you to the room that I prepared for us.” I turned to Jyn again. “And you, Mister. Let’s go. We have a lot explaining to do right now.”
Hinila ko na siya papunta sa special room na ipinagawa ko months ago just for this kind of conversation.
“Are you expecting me here tonight?” Jyn asked and I nodded. “Who told you?”
“I already planned everything right after I talked to Reina,” I said. “And as far as I can see, it was all worked out.”
“W-what?”
“Yes.” I glanced at him and smiled. “I am not the same baby girl you met back at Yain City, Cee. I learned my lesson and I will not let the same thing happen to me back then so I had to do a little more to lay down all my cards on one side and fish out everyone who tries to hurt me.”
“This is what you planned!” Iyan ang salubong sa amin ni Azure nang pumasok kami sa secured room kung saan ko tinipon ang lahat.
Jyn and his underbosses are present here. Maliban kay Dashyu na kinailangan na bumalik sa Avenir dahil sa biglang pagdating dito ng leader ng Chess. Miracle is also here and the Asper’s squad.
“You played all your cards to stop us from reporting to Jyn,” Lair said. “You used us to get him here. Alam mo na hindi imposible para sa kanila ni Rajiv na mapansing mayroon kaming itinatago sa kanya. And that forced him to sneak inside here, where you were just waiting for him.”
I closed the door and looked at them with a smile on my lips. “Well, yeah,” I said. “Maliban sa operasyon na ginawa niyo para pabagsakin ang Cerillo Familia, ang lahat ng ito ay para masiguro na pupunta dito si Jyn na ang tanging kasama ay mga taong lubos niyang pinagkakatiwalaan.”
When Reina told me that Hector had nothing to do with what happened to her back then, I immediately suspected that someone inside Rioghail was behind that. And since that mafia has a lot of members and all of them are close to Jyn, alam kong hindi magiging madali para sa kanila na imbestigahan ang lahat.
Lalo na’t anim na taon na din ang nakalipas mula nang mangyari iyon.
Malakas ang kutob ko na nalinis na ng taong iyon ang lahat ng lead na posibleng magturo sa kanya sa kung ano ang nangyari kay Reina.
They don’t even know who leaked my information to the underground world, so I told my father that I needed someone who would work for me to uncover a lot of things that are involved in this matter.
That someone is uncovering all the leads that Rioghail’s traitor buried and he is now reporting everything to me piece by piece.
“What the hell?” Miracle exclaimed. “Have you been manipulating everything just to make this night happen?”
I nodded. “Parang ganoon na nga.” Iginiya ko sila upang maupo na agad naman nilang ginawa. “Oh, before you ask, Hector doesn’t know anything about this plan. Kung ano ang nalalaman niyo, ganoon lang din ang alam niya.”
“How did you pull this all off, Asper?” Jyn asked. Inilapit niya ang swivel chair na inuupuan niya sa akin. “You said you only started this plan right after you talked to Reina. Hindi mo pa hawak sa leeg ang sinuman sa tauhan ko ng mga panahong iyon.”
“I have someone working for me, Cee,” I said. “And of course, you don’t know that someone because they never report to me personally. Siya ang katulong ko para sa lahat ng imbestigasyon na ginagawa ko.” Bumaling ako kay Miracle. “And no, you don’t know him but he was the one who gave you the idea about the bugs that were probably planted around Jyn and everyone in Rioghail.”
“s**t!” Napatayo siya at gulat na napatingin sa akin. “That man is working for you, Asper? The Rogue is working for you.”
I smirked. “I didn’t know that you knew his alias,” I said. “But you are right. The Rogue, a person who was known for his great skills in gathering information that surpassed the skills of Chess and Miracle, is working for me.”
To be honest, hindi ko alam kung saan nakilala ni Daddy ang taong iyon. Sinabi ko lang sa kanya ang mga skills na kakailanganin ko sa taong magtatrabaho sa akin at ang taong iyon nga ang nirekomenda niya.
I met him in person once, when we were sealing our deal, so I had come to know his real identity. But that was all. Hindi na ako nagtangka pang alamin ang ibang bagay tungkol sa kanya.
It is none of my business and I want our relationship to remain professional. It is not good to be too close to the person that eventually leaves my life.
“The Rogue started his job for me when I approached Hector and offered him to live here,” kwento ko. “He has been giving me leads on possible things that happened to Reina’s case back then. All were just theories since evidence has been tampered with and erased by multiple parties.”
Maging ang mga Azaria ay pinakialaman ang mga ebidensya na posible sanang magturo sa mga tunay na nasa likod ng nangyari kay Reina. We had to eliminate their involvement here to lessen our suspect pool.
Bumaling ako kay Jyn at mataman na tumingin sa kanya. “I am sorry to tell you this, Cee, but Rioghail has been compromised.”
Kumunot ang noo niya. “W-what do you mean?”
Huminga ako ng malalim. “There has been a mafia inside your mafia.”
