Eric Parker :
So, Ammaline is the name of that woman. But why my parents have to ask her here for lunch?
"Who is Ammaline?" I asked my parents.
"Ammaline Pearson" dad said.
"The daughter of Robert Pearson and Patricia Pearson." mom completed dad's sentence.
"And?" I raised my eyebrows asking for more details.
"Her parents are our best friends." mom added.
"And she will become my daughter-in-law." dad chuckled.
"Who's she going to marry?" I asked without thinking.
"You're my only son so who do you expect?" dad asked back.
"What?! Are you SERIOUS?" I asked and mom nodded.
"I already talked to Robert and Patricia about this." mom said.
"And they're agree???" I raised my eyebrows.
"Of course." mom said.
"Your mother has been asking them for a million time. It's not easy to get a yes from them." dad told me.
"And she agreed about it too?"
"You mean Ammaline? I guess she's fine with it." dad answered.
"But I'm not fine with it." I said coldly.
"Whether you're agree with this or not I don't care." mom demanded. "You must get married. You're getting old now."
"Mom, I'm just 30." I protested.
"This time is different, Eric." she said. "Ammaline isn't any random woman."
"That's what you said with the women you arranged for my dates."
"This time is really different." dad added. "We worked so hard in persuading Robert to come to this agreement."
"Dad, you sound like this is a business deal." I commented. "This isn't any type of business deal, dad. It's about MARRIAGE."
"You still can't forget Courtney?" dad asked.
'Courtney' that name is like a disaster in my whole body especially my heart.
"Don't mention that name again, dad. She's nothing to me." I said coldly.
"Eric, it's time for you to open your heart again." mom suggested.
"Mom, you should know that I'm not interested in women anymore."
"So, you're into MEN?" dad asked.
"Dad, stop joking around. I don't like it."
"I will arrange you to meet Ammaline. When I'm done with Ammaline's side you should listen to me, OKAY?" mom said.
"No!"
"Why no?" she asked. "I'm not sure whether Ammaline will agree to come and see you or not. She's tough unlike other girls."
"She rejected your mother twice, son." dad chuckled.
'So this girl rejected my mom twice. What is she to do that to my mom?' I said to myself.
"Mom, whether you can make her to go out with me or not, but the previous women that you matched with me can't stay with me for more than 1 hour." I said.
"But Ammaline is different." mom protested.
"Let's bet, mom."
"Bet on what?" she asked.
"If this Ammaline Pearson can stay with me for more than 30 minutes, then I'll marry her without saying anything." I said.
"Okay, deal." she said.
"But ....." she looked at me.
"But what?" she asked curiously.
"But if she failed then you have no rights to find me any other woman or force me to go out with any other girls and not to mention force me to marry." I said coldly.
"Deal." mom said while swallowed her saliva hard and looked at dad.
"Okay that's it." I said happily. "I'm done eating. Now, I'm going back to my office."
"Why are you rushing?" dad asked.
"I have lots of works to do." I told my parents.
Knowing that I'm going to win the game that I play with my mom, I said bye to my parents and left home proudly. I entered my office still thinking about what I talked with my mom.
"I'm going to win." I told myself. "But what if I made a mistake?"
"If I lose this, this will be my biggest mistake that I make. Whatever! Whether it's a mistake or not. You just said it out, Eric. You must bare with what's going to happen." I tried to coax myself.
I didn't know how much time I spent to think about this matter. I lost in my thought for a while.
'Knock knock'
I came back to my senses when I heard some knocked the door.
"Come in." Nathan my personal assistant walked in.
"Boss, your meeting is going to start in 20 minutes. Everything is ready." Nathan informed me.
"Ok, I'll be in the meeting room soon."
Nathan left my office and I got ready for this meeting.
Ammaline Pearson:
I left the Parker's mansion and went home. I rejected Mrs. Parker for the second time now.
'What should I do when she invites me again?' I kept thinking about this until I got home.
"You're having lunch here?" Olivia greeted me with her question.
"Yes. What do you have for lunch?"
"Nothing!" she smiled guiltily.
"Please cook me something." I begged her.
"Ok! But why are you here? Aren't you busy?" Olivia asked me.
"It's a long story."
"Tell me everything. I have time for your long story." she chuckled.
"I lied to someone that I'm going to have lunch with my friend. That's why I'm here." I said.
"Is that all?" she asked me.
"No."
I told Olivia everything while she was cooking.
"So, you're going to marry Eric Parker?" Olivia raised her eyebrows.
"I'm not sure. It depends on my parents." I said. I made a sad expression.
"It's okay. That Eric Parker is handsome. You don't have to worry that your future husband is ugly." she laughed.
"Is it that funny?" I said coldly. Olivia shut her mouth and finished her cooking.
About 10 minutes later, Olivia put a plate of fried rice in front of me.
"Here's your food. Eat it."
"Thanks" Olivia sat on the chair facing me.
"You know what my mom kept giving that Eric compliments, saying that he's handsome, perfect, highly educated and stuff." I told Olivia.
"Actually, what she said is true."
"What?!" I freaked out. Even my best friend thinks that he's handsome.
"You don't think that he's handsome?" Olivia asked.
"I don't know." I said.
"What do you mean? You don't know?"
"Have you seen him?" I asked.
"Yes."
"Even you have seen him." I rolled my eyes.
"You haven't met that guy for sure." she laughed.
"Whatever! Please let me eat my food peacefully."
"Okay Okay! Hurry and eat it."
"Aren't you working?" I asked.
"Nope. I don't have any work."
I nodded.
"Am, thinking about Eric Parker, I think I met him many times. His company always hires our crew to plan their events." Olivia finally started to talk about Eric Parker again.
"O, I feel sick hearing 'Eric Parker' so please stop mentioning that name." I begged her.
