The week has been busy and none stop I had trained Lexi she could do with a little longer, but we had no time we had a business meeting Monday which meant she would be my side taking notes and typing them up the next day so we had to shop she needed some new work clothes. Though hers were suitable they were old and she needed up to date ones. I’d drove her back Friday night and would be staying in the spear room though I would’ve preferred in sharing a bed with her it was not a good idea, not yet. I’d have to win her trust as well as her children’s before any of that until then I’d have to hold back.
I’d been up late I had met Cal at the gym to work out before we got the boys to go to kombat school, where both me and Callum taught combat to anyone above the age of twelve. The boys were looking forward to it , so were me and Cal seen as the boys were in different age groups Cal had Arron and I had Keiron. They soon picked it up. They’d soon be fighting against one another if they kept it up. We’d arrived back at the cottage at almost twelve pm the boys grabbed a coke and a snack before they said goodnight and went to their rooms Lexi was still up me and Cal both grabbed an energy drink form the fridge and sat down.
‘So how did it go?’
‘Really well they done really well.’
‘Are you sure?’
‘We are.’ Cal said. ‘They both worked really hard and if they stick to it they may be able to fight one another on the mat.’
‘Wow I never thought I’d see the day that they did something more than argue on the PlayStation. ‘
‘They just needed a nudge in the right direction.’
‘Thanks Corey you didn’t have to do this.’
‘I wanted to they’re good kids.’
She smiled. ‘So.. are you staying Cal?’
‘If you don’t mind I’m bushed.’
‘You’ll have to share with Corey.’
‘I’ll take the sofa.’
‘No you have the bed I’m okay out here.’
‘No I insist.’
‘Why don’t you share with Lex I’m sure she won’t mind.’
‘I erm don’t think that’s a good idea.’
‘Lex.’
‘He’s my boss Cal.’
‘I trust him. It’s just one night, he can sleep in the spear room tomorrow neither of us will be comfortable on then sofa. Put something in between you if you don’t trust yourselves.’
‘Fine.’ She huffed.
She didn’t look pleased.
‘Corey.’
‘If she’s okay with it then so am I.’
‘I’m going to bed you guys are welcome to eat and drink as much as you like.’
‘Sure.’
She pulled herself up. ‘Night.’
‘Night Lex.’
‘Yeah night Lex.’
She stormed off god I hoped this wasn’t going to be forever.
‘She doesn’t look happy.’
‘She’ll get over it.’
‘Are you sure I should be sharing a room with her? I can take the sofa.’
‘Rubbish. I trust you Corey even if my sister doesn’t.’
If only he knew what I wanted to do to her, how much I wanted to please her, how much I wanted to f**k her and about everything that we had agreed on in the contract.
We had some sandwiches and cokes before we both headed to bed. ‘Now don’t get doing anything I wouldn’t.’ He laughed.
‘I won’t.’ I promised though I wasn’t sure how long I could promise that for.
‘Night Cor.’
‘Night Cal.’
We stepped into the separate rooms I took my clothes of to my boxers and slid into the bed next to her.
‘Don’t get ant ideas.’
‘I thought you were sleeping. And I won’t.’
She turned looking at me. ‘I know we have the contract. I’m just not ready for any of that right now.’
‘I understand and I’ll wait til you are.’
‘Thanks Corey that means a lot.’
‘You need to get rid of your demons first. You need to talk through what happened so that you can move on.’
‘I know.’
‘Maybe tomorrow.’
‘Maybe. Night Corey.’
‘Night Lex.’
She turned over closing her eyes. I lay my arm over her, she snuggled into me I slowly closed my eyes.

After breakfast Cal had gone to the gym. Lola was taking care of Izzy Keiron and Arron were thrashing each other on the PlayStation. Me and Lexi had gone shopping in the next town there weren’t many clothes shops around where we lived so we had a forty minute drive into town. ‘Are you sure about this Corey?’
‘Absolutely you need some new office wear you can’t keep wearing what you have you need more exclusive lines.’
‘I can’t afford top notch Corey I’m not that sort of girl.’
‘So what sort of girl are you?
‘Jeans, tops and trainers.’
‘Well we can’t have that can we? You’ll need a new wardrobe.’
‘I can’t afford one.’
‘My treat.’
‘No Corey. I’d rather pay for my own clothes.’
‘Maybe I should’ve put it in the contract.’
‘Maybe you should.’
‘Okay look at it as a bonus, does that sound better?’
‘But I haven’t done anything yet.’
‘My god I can’t please you can I?’
‘Nope.’ She said smiling.
I laughed. ‘Just this once Lex let me treat you.’
‘Fine.’ She sighed.
I smiled. ‘Come on there’s something really good shops I’d like to take you in.’
‘And I suppose I have no say in it.’
‘And you’d be correct.’ I said smiling.
‘Okay let’s get this over and done with.’
I slid my hand into hers, she looked at it uncomfortable but said nothing.
We walked around for hours, her constant moaning that I was spending to much. I ignored it of cause it was my money and if I wanted to splash it out in her I would.
We finally sat down for lunch in the Italian restaurant in the town centre.’
‘My feet aren’t killing me.’
‘My head’s killing me.’
‘Well you should listen to me when I say no.’
‘I don’t even know the word.’
‘Gathers.’
‘Well at least you have some outfits now.’
‘Yeah.’
‘There are a few more shops I’d like to take you in before we head back.’
‘Ergh.’ She groaned.
‘Just a few more I promise.’
‘Okay.’ She sighed we ate our lunch and headed of to the last few shops.
We trecked around the last few remaining shops at least she’d have more clothes to wear now. ‘Thanks for this Corey.’
‘My pleasure any time. I’d like to take the kids shopping to.’
‘You don’t have to .’
‘I know I’d like to besides if the boys decide to take up combat training they’ll be needing the proper outfits and gear.’
‘That sounds expensive.’
‘It is but it’s worth it.‘
‘Do you always splash out your money.’
We put the bags into the car I talked into her ear. ‘Your mine and I like to spend my money on you.’
‘You should’ve put that into the contract too.’ She said nervously.
‘I did.’ I said into her ear the hairs on her arms prickled up. ‘You must’ve missed it.’
She looked at me. ‘I’ll finish putting these into the boot go sit in the car.’
‘Okay.’
She walked away whilst I began to put the remainder of the thirty bags into the boot of my car.
He walked towards us a girl on his arm. I continued what I was doing.
‘Lex is that you?’
She turned looked straight at him then her completion paled she wasn’t really sure of how to react. ‘Yeah.’ Was all she could manage. ‘Wow I haven’t seen tho for what twenty years. How are you?’
‘Carter.’
He smiled.
‘I’m fine how are you?’ She stuttered.
‘Good good. Ohh this is fia my wife’
She looked green. ‘Wow congrats.‘
‘Thanks.’
She paused. ‘This is weird.’
‘It sure is... so you live around here?’
‘Next town down you,’
‘Just visiting fia’s parents live here. We live out in the countryside.’
‘Wow you’ve come up in the world.’
‘Yeah I work for a really large company. I believe one of their offices is here in town.’
‘Oh.’
I closed the boot time to introduce myself.
‘So are you and Joker still..’ He said looking at me. ‘I guess not.‘
‘Hi I’m Corey Jacobs. I’m Lexi’s boss.’
‘Your him oh MFG. I’ve heard so much about you.’
‘All good I hope.’
‘Yes sir. I’m Carter Green I work in Jacobs plc in the city with your brother I work along side him.’
‘So your the new computer genius.’
‘Yes sir. He speaks highly of you.’
‘Please call me Corey I hate formalities.’
‘Sure. Well Corey this is my wife fia. Fia this is Corey Jacobs he owns Jacobs Plc here in town.’
‘It’s nice to meet you.’
‘The pleasure is all mine.’
‘How rude am I. Fia this is my erm friend Lexi we used to hang when we were kids. Lexi fia.’
‘Nice to meet you.’
‘You too I’ve heard so much about you.’
‘Oh.’
‘Don’t look so worried it’s all good.’
She smiled unsure giving her and Carter’s history.
‘So have you seen the guys?’
‘Not since we moved out here.’
‘So they don’t know you’re married?’
‘No you’re the first. We sort of drifted apart after you know everything.’
‘Yeah.’
‘So do you see any of them?’
‘I did before I came here.’
‘So Joker what’s the story.’
‘We’d all like to know that one.’ I said.
‘I left him.’
‘I wondered how long that would take. I honestly thought he wouldn’t stick around after he found out he was a dad.’
‘I wished he hadn’t.’
‘He was a d**k Lex and so was Kile for abandoning you.’ He paused. ‘Have you seen or heard anything from Kile?’
‘No and I prefer not to either.’
‘I understand. Well I just thought I’d come and say hi.’
‘Don’t tell anyone you saw me Carter.’
‘You ran away didn’t you?’
She looked at him.
‘We’ll catch up and you’re telling me everything. You’re leaving nothing out.’
‘Okay.’
‘Here’s my number call me.’ He said handing her his business card. ‘We’ll do lunch and share our stories okay.’
‘Okay.’ She said nervously.
‘It was nice to finally meet you Corey.’
‘You to.’
‘Don’t stay a stranger Lex.’
‘I won’t.’
He smiled and they walked away.
‘Well that was awkward.’
‘Tell me about it.’
‘So are you going to tell me who he was.’
‘A friend.’
‘He came across to me to be more than that.’
‘Okay I’ll tell you at the cottage.’
‘Okay hop in.’
We got into the car and I drove away.
