The next morning

‘Miss. Evans, Mr. Jacobs. It’s seven thirty.’
‘Mmh.‘ Lexi said slowly coming around.
‘Good morning Miss. Evans.’
‘Lola you’re here early.’
‘It’s seven thirty I’m not early. I’ve already given Izzy her breakfast.’
‘Thanks.’ She yawned stretching. ‘Corey.’ She said shaking him. ‘Corey wake up its morning.’
‘Mmh.’
‘It’s morning.’
‘s**t I must’ve dozed off.’
He stretched pulling himself up onto the chair. ‘I’m sorry Lex I was going home.’
‘It’s fine it’s your cottage.’ She looked at him. ‘Do you want a coffee?’
‘I should get back. I need to shower and change.’
‘You can shower here if you like.’
‘Are you sure?’
‘I am. Cal has some suits here you can use one.’
‘Thanks. I’m sorry for all of this.’
‘Don’t be go and have a shower and I’ll get us both a coffee.’
I pulled myself up.’Thanks Lex.’
‘My pleasure. Use the shower in my room or Kieron and Arron will be screaming at you through the door to hurry up. My room is the last on the left. Cal left some suits in the spear room last on the right.’
‘Thanks.’
I walked upstairs quickly finding her room and smiled it was spotless how did she do it? There were a few pictures of her children. I smiled maybe one day when she trusted me enough we’d have children too. I walked into the en-suite putting then shower on gathering a towel, getting in showering. I turned the shower off and wrapped the towel around my waste and went onto the spear room opening the wardrobe. Cal had at least ten suits in here I hoped one would fit he had an athletic body, but it wasn’t as muscular as mine. I dried and got dressed, it almost fit, It would do for today I’d get it dry cleaned and return it.
I walked down stairs. She smiled. ‘Lola done us a coffee and toast I hope you don’t mind.’
‘Not at all.’
I sat beside her taking a sip of my coffee placing the cup down.’ It looks good on you.’
‘It’s a little tight.’
She giggled. I simply smiled.
‘So what are we doing today?’
‘Training for the next few days. Monday we have a meeting so you’ll be taking notes.’
‘Okay.’
‘Saturday I’m taking you shopping.’
‘Why? I don’t need anything.’
‘You do. You need suits that fit.’
‘They do.’
‘How long have you had them?’
‘A while. I didn’t have any need to use them. He wouldn’t let me work, he said a mother’s home is her house not in the world of work.’
‘What era was he from ?’
‘That stone ages.’
I laughed, she smiled trying not to laugh with me. ‘Mommy.’
‘Izzy.’ She said kissing her cheek.
I smiled.
‘Who is he mommy?’
‘Izzy this is my boss Corey Jacobs.’
She looked at me, she looked like her mother but with curls. She had the cutest smile I’d ever seen if butter could melt. ‘Hello Corey Jacobs.’
I smiled she was adorable. ‘Hello sweetie and you can call me Corey.’
‘I like him mommy.’
‘I like you too sweet heart. How’s about me and your mom take you out next weekend? we can do what ever you like. ‘
Her smiled beamed. ‘Can we Mommy please.’ She begged I tired not to laugh.
‘I don’t know.’
‘I don’t mind Lex I’ll take the boys out the week after I know a good arcade.’
‘Did I hear arcade?’
‘Busted.’ She said smiling
A handsome fourteen year old leaped down the stairs, his hair dark and he was slightly tanned his younger brother in suit, his hair a little lighter and scruffy. He looked like he’d just got out of bed. ‘You did.’
They looked at Corey. ‘Mom.’
‘Boys this is my boss Corey Jacobs. Corey this is Arron my third eldest and Keiron my youngest son.’
‘Nice to meet you.’
‘You to is that Cal’s.’
‘It is.’
‘It’s a little tight you’ve got a better six pack than Cal.’
‘And abs. ‘Keiron added.
‘Thanks I guess.’
‘Do you work out?’
‘I do you can join me if you like.’
Lexi laughed.
‘What’s so funny?’
‘Yeah what’s so funny mom?’ Arron asked sarcastically.
‘You two bench pressing that’s what’s funny. You’d rather sit in front of the playstation and argue it out.’
‘They could do kombat at the club let their aggression out.’
‘Can we? I want to beat his ass.’
‘Not if I beat yours first.’
‘You’ve started something now.’
‘They can join me. I don’t mind teaching them a thing or two and they can let their aggression out.’
‘Can we Mom?’
‘If Corey doesn’t mind.’
‘I don’t I’ll ask Cal to join us we can both teach them.’
‘Cool. I like this guy mom he’s cool.’
She smiled.
They ate their breakfasts and went to get the bus to school. ‘They don’t have to catch the bus I can put a car on for them.’
‘You don’t have to.’
‘I’d like to.’
She simply smiled sending my heart racing. ‘Come on we best get going work waits for no one.’
She kissed and hugged Izzy who hugged me too. I smiled we said good bye to Izzy and Lola getting into the car driving away. ‘My kids like you.’
‘I like them to.’
‘Have you got any kids?’
‘No. I haven’t found the right girl yet.’
‘Oh.’
I squezzed her hand. ‘That could all change.’
We got to the office and she done us both a coffee before I began her training again. We had lunch and began again she was slowly getting the hand of our system she’d be ready by Monday. ‘May I offer you a lift home.’
‘I’ll get a taxi.’
‘Rubbish I’ll drive you back and pick you up in the morning.’
‘You don't have to.’
‘I know I want to.’
‘Okay.’ She sighed and I smiled.
I drove her home. ‘Thanks Corey.’
‘Any time I’ll pick you up at 8:30 okay.’
‘Okay and thanks again.’
She opened the door of the car Arron and Keiron walked up.
‘Is Corey staying for supper.’
‘No he has to go home.’
‘Come on Mom he’s cool.’
‘Would you?’
‘Maybe another time.’
‘Come on Corey we want to whoop your ass on the playstaton.’
‘What game do you want to whoop my ass at.’
‘Street fighter.’
‘Nagh mortal kombat.’
‘You’re on. I can’t argue with that.’
I slid out the car closing and locking the doors.
‘I hope you don’t mind.’
‘Not at all you can change into some of Cal’s more casual clothes if you like.’
‘I will this thing is killing me.’
She laughed as I opened the tie from around my neck.’
We all went in and I changed. After was ate supper Arron and Keiron dragged me upstairs to play on the PlayStation they were suprised that I knew how to play the games that they had picked. I showed them some of the more experienced moves and they ended up whopoing my ass in the end.
I went down stairs after Lexi had told them it was bed time it was almost eleven. ‘I had a really good time tonight.’
‘The boys sounded like they were too. They’ll be talking about it tomorrow.’
‘The offer stands I’ll take them down the club it’s Friday night so they’ll be late back if it’s okay with you.’
‘Sure they need to let some steam off.’
‘If it’s okay with you I’d like to stay. I’ll take the spear room and I’ll bring some clothes over and we can go out Saturday.’
‘Okay.’
‘No need to be so nervous Lexi I don’t bite. Unless you want me to. ‘I said in her ear. It sent shivers through her. I kissed her cheek . ‘Thanks for supper I’ll see you tomorrow.’
‘Okay.’ She said a little breathless.
I opened the door walking out, closing it behind me.
