I parked up and we took the shopping bags into the cottage. Putting them in the kitchen as she done us both a drink. Lola had just left, Izzy was in her room sleeping, Arron and Keiron on the PlayStation arguing again. We sat down. She placed the coffees down sitting next to me. ‘Carter is my ex.’
‘Oh..’
‘I was young, stupid and vulnerable. I was eighteen when we met he was in his late twenties. I met him through Amilia and Johnson.’
‘The same as Joker?’ I asked.
‘Yeah they were all friends . They’d got foul mouths I just laughed it off cause it was just how they were.’
‘Okay.’
‘My past was somewhat colourful for a eighteen year old girl. I ran away from home, had s*x, drank and took drugs.’
I looked at her a little disappointed. But she was young most people that age was trying new stuff even though I wasn’t. I was interested in s*x and one night stands. Until I came into money and taking over from my father in the family business. I drifted away from women they were only after my money and my name.
‘I know I know. I know what you’re thinking Corey, but I never done drugs till after joker used me and my ex decided to pump me full of e’s so he could have his way with me.’
I c****d my eye brow.
‘I screwed up real bad. I thought I meant more to Joker than a screw. I was warned, I chose just not to listen and I wished I had. I got pissed and stoned it wasn’t me but I’d lost all my self worth if guys didn’t care about me why should I?’ She paused. ‘After Kile I went with Carter, but it was more than just s*x we were together in a relationship and I went and ruined it. My dumb ex boyfriend took no for an answer I blacked out and when I woke he poped me with pills. I was so f*****g high I tried to stop him but it was useless I woke having no recollection of the night before.’
‘Did he f**k you ?’
‘Yes.’
‘Are you sure?’
‘I am I was as sore as hell and I’d been bleeding like the first time he f****d me.’
‘I see.. so where did Joker fit into this?’
‘I saw him a couple of weeks after I was dumb enough to give him what he wanted. I’d lost everything Corey and he was there to fill in the gaps nothing more.’
‘So.. I take it he wasn’t happy when he found out you were up the duff?’
‘No he lied to try and get out of it.’
‘So how did you two come to be together then?’
‘We all had a paternity test he found out he was the father the day I gave birth to Hunter and he never left.’ She cried.
I placed my arm around her pulling her towards me. ‘I’m here now.’
‘I’ll tell you everything I promise.’
‘When ever your ready.’
‘Can you stay with me tonight?’
‘Are you sure?’
‘Yeah.’
‘I bet it was a shock seeing your ex with his wife.’
‘A little we didn’t part on good terms. The last time we spoke was before he done his test.’
‘I see.’
‘I’m sorry Corey my life isn’t perfect.’
‘No ones is, mine never was. I’ll tell you one day, but first we have to get rid of all of your demons so that you can move forward and move on.’
‘I am.’
‘No you’re not you need to talk about it and cut no corners if not to me to your friend.’
‘So I can see him agian?’
‘You haven’t got to ask I trust you Lex.’ I said kissing her forehead. ‘Just let me know when you want to talk about it okay.’
‘Okay.’ She said laying her head in my chest, maybe give her a little more time she’ll open you to me and tell me everything.
