Saving Ms. Ex-Princess

I sighed as I looked at the files that king and Li San gave to me.

These files contain all the information about Leana’s case before she was sentenced to exile at the palace.

The king wants me to study for me to understand the situation that they have right now. And also, he asked me some favors if I could use any of this to prove that Leana is really innocent.

That’s the only time they can give her title back and all of her privilege of being part of the royal family. They can also start commanding all their knights and private groups that have been working with them to start protecting her again.

And it is a second option for me if I can’t think of any method to use to rescue and save her.

Well, Kira Vitale has been keeping his eyes on her. He is always with her and when they go out in public, they are always surrounded by guards. Kira also has two or three people to blend in with the public, act like a simple bystander but they’re observing people that their boss encounters.

So I had to think carefully about what I should do to save that woman. And rejecting this request right from the king is not in my option.

“Hey.” I turned to my side and saw Adze sitting beside me. “What are you doing?”

“Studying and planning my next mission.”

“Oh.” He looked at one of the files and frowned. “You got assigned to save the ex-princess?”

“You know about it?”

He nodded. “It is not actually a huge scandal last year because the royal family kept this issue really private but they expelled Leana, the king’s youngest sister, because of leaking some military information.”

“Do you know some details about that?”

He nodded again. “I got curious about that issue so I begged Lancelot to get me some access with that case and I can say that this is a big issue.”

“What do you mean?” I closed all the folders that I put on the table and completely faced him.

Lancelot has many connections so I am really sure that what Adze’s going to say will give me more information about Leana that I can’t get to the palace.

“When she was younger, she attended normal school on the mainland and that’s where she met with Major Ditrim of Ruien, General Axel of Japan and General Co of NZ.”

“Wait.” I opened certain files where I read the names that he said. “Those are the military officers from different countries she met before.”

“Yes,” he said. “She was having a meeting with them not because she is giving the military information about Avenir. She was with them because they were having some reunion after not being able to see each other for a long time.”

Then, the king was right when he said that Leana was just framed.

“If you know that information, why did the palace think that Leana betrayed them?”

“Hmm.” He scratched his head as if he was thinking then put his hand on my shoulder. “It was a conflict inside the royal family and there is a rumor that King Leaster was thinking of giving up his throne and let Leana become the queen of this country.”

I know that rumor.

They said that King Leaster didn’t really want to marry another woman again aside from Queen Zepphiria but he didn’t have any choice because the one he loves is part of Xermin, the original owner of this land.

And most of the families here are afraid that the Xermin will just use the Avenir and just make them their puppets.

But we all know the truth. They are just hungry for power so they put another one or two families inside the palace and they will make connections with them. And there, they will have the power and influence that they want.

And now, Leana caught up with that conflict. To make sure that the king will stay on the throne, someone pulled some strings to get rid of the possible heir to the throne.

“Is your source even legit?” I asked him and he immediately nodded.

“Lance paid a lot of money to get all of that information.” he said that made me frown.

Adze and Lancelot are both guys who fell in love with each other. Though I am not against their relationship, Lancelot, a billionaire owner of a huge car company keeps spoiling this bastard and spends a lot of money on everything he wants.

Just like this information. He got curious and when he asked for some access, Lancelot gave him everything.

“And since you need those files, I can give you my copy.” He tapped on his cellphone and after a while, an email was sent to my phone. “And there you have it.” He smiled at me and tapped my shoulder. “Good luck on your mission. And I have to remind you that even though Lancelot’s source is legit, you cannot use that file as a solid evidence to prove her innocence.”

I scroll through the files that he sent me and I can clearly see that this is not enough to use as evidence. I still need to find something.

“You know what?”

I turned to him again.

“I got some leads that Kira will visit this country again next week,” he said. “And he will use a public airplane to travel.”

“Seriously?”

He nodded. “There is a possibility that he will be here with Leana so you could start planning on rescuing her with that opportunity. Because right now? Proving her innocence is far more impossible than rescuing and saving her.”

I sighed and messed my hair as I cleaned up all the files that I have on my table.

I guess, I will take his advice and just start planning to save the ex-princess of Avenir.
