Chapter 11
Megan lost no time dialing the phone number that was now familiar to her. It was a cell phone number that went directly to Sheriff Green. While she waited for the sheriff to answer her call, Aiden put the car in reverse and hit the gas. With a mental apology to Carol Bloomquest for all the stones his wheels were throwing up, he pulled out onto the main road from her driveway.
When the sheriff finally answered, Megan relayed the message from Aiden, cringing as she did.
"Sheriff, it’s Megan Cassidy. I'm with Aiden Tory, and we need to report a body in the preserve end of Neptune's Trident. Yes, we’re safe. As a matter fact we've left the scene to take a witness to safety. I realize you will have questions for us. We’ll be at Lucy and Paul's when you're ready."
