Clearing The Misunderstanding

Suddenly Grandma Lia spoke, sorry for interrupting but can I meet the baker I really want to compliment her personally.

 Some how Myra knew this was coming so she told Emily to call Mrs. Lin who was busy preparing cake for a birthday party.

Grandma Adele spoke, “Oh, Lia you will love her she is the best baker in town.”

Finally the tea arrived and after handing the tea to everyone Emily left.

 Soon after that Mrs. Lin walked in with a tray filled with cookies, she smiled and greeted everyone then offered the cookies to everyone.

 “Ohhhhhhhhh! These are delicious, Grandma Adele took a bite and complimented her and then everyone agreed.

But grandma Adele was extremely disappointed as she had found a little hope that her little girl might be alive but now it was shattered. She thanked Mrs. Lin for the cake and reminded her sister that they need to go to the market.

Both the ladies got up and thanked Myra and Mrs. Lang ford, gave her the cheque which she had it in her purse and walked outside.

Meanwhile Carlos also got up but waited for his grandmothers to go out then spoke to Myra ‘‘ So how about my proposal did you think about it?’

Myra was taken aback as she had completely forgotten about the proposal because of all the excitement in the morning and had not yet discussed it with Lauren but she took a decision and said, “Well since you came to us first, how can we refuse please sent me the details of how you want it to be and we will arrange it accordingly.”

Well I don’t have any preferences, but you can come to the office and have a look at it and decide it yourself. I will make the arrangement for you to meet my assistant and he will accompany you there then you can decide and give him the layout. Carlos said and got up and walked outside.

Myra followed him till the exit and watched them drive away.

Lauren was getting restless sitting alone at the coffee shop as the flower had not yet arrived at the warehouse and she had to get back home early to prepare dinner. She called Marian and checked on Kai and was informed that he was playing games and did not want to be disturbed. Hearing this she smiled and hung up.

 Then she called up the guy to ask if the flowers had arrived but he informed her that they will take another half an hour.

As she had nothing to do she decided to go to the supermarket and do some grocery shopping. she paid he bill and went out.

Meanwhile Carlos was driving his car towards the supermarket and he got a call from Jacob telling him that  the mayor was coming to meet him within an hour.

 He apologized to his grandmothers and dropped them at the supermarket and left.

 Once they entered grandma Adele pulled Grandma Lia to the clothing store. Grandma Lia helplessly followed suit. she was never fond of shopping but her sister would spend hours in shopping for herself and everyone. It amused her to think how her brother-in- law would react when he sees the shopping bags. But he loved spoiling her.

 Finally, after buying gifts for everyone both walked into the departmental store as Grandma Lia wanted to buy some Christmas decoration.

 Lauren who was going through the racks in the store searching for her favorite chocolate chips heard something drop near her. She looked up and saw Grandma Lia staring at her with tears and happiness in her eyes.

 She was speechless as she was not prepared for this encounter and stood still in her place.

Mia, Grandma Lia said softly and came towards her.

Though Lauren was fighting with her emotions she controlled herself and said, “ Madam, I think you are mistaking me for someone else, my name is Lauren and not Mia, I  bent down to pick up the box of decoration which had fallen down and gave myself some time to wipe away my tears.

 She got up handed it to grandma Lia but grandma Lia did not respond she kept on staring at her and then suddenly she started crying and said, “ Mia, my child I know its you don’t lie  to me and she started crying.

 I was in control of my emotion but when I saw Grandma Lia cry I couldn’t help myself and tried to explain, “Madam you are not the only one who has mistaken me for someone else, I am Lauren and not Mia. Even your grandson Carlos thought so but I am assuring you I am not Mia.”

 Just then Grandma Adel walked towards them and said happily, Lauren you are here too, so finally we get to meet you she came and walked past her and gave me a big hug. And then turned towards her sister and saw her teary eye and she asked in concern, “Big sister are you alright? Why are you crying?”

I intervened immediately and said she has mistaken me for somebody else. I just clarified her doubt.

Grandma Lia was still staring at me but did not say anything, just nodded her head and said she was not feeling well, and she wanted to go home.

Grandma Adele nodded but did not seek any more question and turned towards Lauren and introduced her saying,

‘ Lia this is Lauren the co-owner of the Mystic boutique and also Myra’s  sister. Isn’t she lovely just like her sister?”

Grandma Lia came back to her senses and thought how can so many coincidences happen at the same time and this girl certainly looks like Mia though her hair color has changed and she is looks more lean. Her accent is also different, but it can be changed, something is not right. she just nodded her head and said I am sorry for the confusion Miss. Lauren you look like somebody I knew so reacted like that.

“Oh! you are not the only one even your grandson thought the same thing but now he knows. So, no need to apologies I can understand. Lauren tried to make it clear.

Grandma Adele lovingly looked at her sister and confirmed again, Lia I have known Lauren for a long time she is Mrs. James’ stepdaughter and has been running this business since the past five years after her father passed away.

 Suddenly, Lauren’ phone started ringing and she excused herself it was the call from the flower guy he told her that the flower had arrived. So Lauren said her goodbyes to the two ladies and left.

 Lauren ran out of the supermarket and called up Ben to pick up the flowers as she did not have the mood to go to the office. Then she rushed outside.

Meanwhile grandma who was observing Lauren's expression all the while they were talking was disturbed with the current situation and thought something was fishy but kept it to herself and thought of finding it herself and headed back with her sister.
