"You cannot accept that job. Ronnie." Reginald visited his brother, something he never did.
"I didn't ask for your permission," Ronnie replied.
Ronnie was the most dominant of the twins. Also, he was schizophrenic.
Ronnie's schizophrenia made people stay away from him because he was prone to occasional violence if he did not take his medication.
Also, he loved to be alone. It had to do with his illness anyway.
Reginald was frustrated. His hair was dishevelled. After all, he had been under tension throughout the weekend.
"Ron, this is a different fight. It's no longer about who can run the family's company better, it's about us. Can't you see that Scarlet is taking advantage of us?" Reginald hoped his brother would see reason with him.
"How?" Ronnie asked.
"When brothers are at loggerheads, who do you think benefits from it? It's strangers. Outsiders use that as an opportunity to get what they want..." Reginald was explaining that when Ronnie started to shake his head.
"I have the opportunity to prove to dad that I can handle the family's business. The only reason he hasn't given me the responsibility is because of my so-called illness, coupled with the fact that we have the reputation of being irresponsible. If I run Juvy Group well, then it would be enough proof for dad to change his mind," Ronnie explained.
"Nothing can stop me bro." He added.
Reginald stared at his twin, not knowing what to say or do to make him have a change of mind.
What did he expect in the first place? If he were in Ronnie's shoes, he also would not reject the offer to be the CEO of Juvy Group, so it was glaring that he was just trying to deceive his brother into not progressing.
The following week felt like heaven for Ronnie Cray as he started off as the CEO of Juvy Group.
"Hope your meds are your best friend. I know about your mental illness." Scarlet knew she was taking a risk by employing Ronnie as her CEO, but what did she want more than anything? Revenge. Revenge on Reginald Cray.
"You do?" Ronnie appeared to be somewhat frightened as he thought that Scarlet only found out he was schizophrenic after she had hired him.
Scarlet nodded.
"Yes. I've always known. You just have to watch it while you're at work. I mean, you are the CEO, so you don't have to answer to anyone. If you feel you're about to have a crisis, just grab your meds." Scarlet didn't look Ronnie in the eye as she was advising him.
It was like advising a mad man to stay out.
It was embarrassing.
Of course, Ronnie felt embarrassed, but he was also determined to show up and take the Juvy Group to a height that would encourage his father to trust him.
"Got it," Ronnie replied with a low voice.
"Can I ask for something? I don't imagine that it would be a big deal," Ronnie added.
Scarlet looked at him.
"I'm all ears," she replied.
"Change everything in my office to some advanced fibre that doesn't break." Ronnie looked around his massive office as he made the suggestion.
Scarlet's eyes widened.
"What do you mean?" She asked.
"I'm just being extra careful. If I happen to suddenly get into a fit, I might destroy the company's properties worth millions of dollars. I'm sure you wouldn't love to see that. So? It's best we not ignore the fact that the worse can happen even though I always have my meds and I intentionally try to remain calm, sober and avoid triggering situations." Ronnie was sincere.
Scarlet stared at him for a moment and, for the first time since they were together in the CEO's office, Ronnie looked Scarlet deeply in her eyes.
Ronnie's blue eyes were magnetic. His stare carried something intense and mysterious in it. Was it because he was a mental patient.
His aura was also very different from Reggie's. He carried more power than his brother.
Scarlet felt herself being blown away. She was lost in his sauce as she stared at him until Ronnie called her back to the moment.
"Is that a yes?" He asked.
Scarlet blinked rapidly, realizing that she had been lost for a while. She hoped it had not been too long to raise an eyebrow.
"Sure. I mean, okay, why not? As far as you promise to hold yourself back and not have too many crises. Just pay attention and don't depend on the fact that you have unbreakable items around you." Scarlet quickly darted out of the office.
"One more thing," Ronnie called after her.
Scarlet held the door handle and turned to look at him.
"Thank you," Ronnie said with deep appreciation and a husky Baritone that knocked Scarlet sideways.
Her head was spinning.
Scarlet went straight home after instructing the HR to adjust the furniture and other items in the CEO's office to unbreakable fibre.
The HR manager didn't know why Scarlet made such a request, as she was not aware of Ronnie's mental illness, but who was she to ask questions?
She quickly got into it and started out the purchase of new items for the office.
Scarlet sat in the back of her Bentley while her chauffeur drove to her house.
The entire time, her mind was on Ronnie.
She had come across Ronnie a couple of times while she was with Reggie, but it was never this intimate.
Yes, intimate.
Scarlet was never even aware that Ronnie had such blue eyes.
She remained in deep thought to the extent that she didn't know when the chauffeur pulled up at her house.
"Ma'am... ma'am..." Eli the chauffeur called Scarlet.
Scarlet snapped out of her dazed state and looked at Eli with a smile.
"We are here." Eli was ever so polite and gentle with his employer.
Scarlet swallowed hard and stepped out of the car, knowing fully well that her life was about to take a drastic turn of adventures.
