Chapter 8: Gemini Twins

*Lilith*

               I woke up in a big room, the walls were red with gold streaks on them, I was laying on a big bed that had golden colored sheets and blankets, from the ceiling a golden veil covered the whole bed. I got out of the bed trying to figure out where I was.  I headed towards the door, I needed to get out of here, as I headed to the door, it opened, and a small woman walked in holding a utility bag in her hands. “You should really start getting ready, the master doesn’t like when people are late” she sounded annoyed, “where am I?” I asked studying her, she rolled her eyes, grabbed me by the arm and pulled me to where the bathroom was. She pushed me in the shower, turned on the cold water and gave me an evil looking smile “make it fast, and meet me back in the room when you’re done” she started to walk out “what the hell is your problem?” I screamed at her, she turned around mad, showed me her fangs before she slammed the door closed.

               I was not expecting that at all I was a little startled, those were not werewolf fangs. I turned the water to hot and removed my clothes so that I could clean myself. After I was finished there was only a robe hanging from a peg, so I put it on and walked back out to the room. The woman was sitting on the edge of the bed looking bored like she had better things to do than to be here. “Well it’s about time” I instantly got annoyed at her, great I thought to myself “take a seat over by the vanity I’m going to do your hair and makeup before you get into your dress” she immediately got to work on my hair. “So?... you didn’t answer my question from before, where am I?” I asked annoyed at her, she looked at me through the mirror before answering “that’s not for me to say, I’m only here to help you get ready before we head down.” I hadn’t paid too much attention to her before, but now that I was looking at her while she worked on my hair, I saw that she was wearing a royal blue dress that sparkled when the light hit it. Her hair was done in a fancy looking bun, her skin was light, and the color of the dress made it stand out, it looked really good on her. She wasn’t wearing too much make up but the eye shadow she had on made her blue eyes pop out “like what you see?” she caught me looking at her and smiled, I quickly looked away, “so why are we getting dressed up for?” I pretended like I wasn’t just staring at her “I honestly don’t know, but I’m guessing it has something to do with you” I looked at her again questioningly and she just shrugged her shoulders and kept working.

               After a couple hours, she was finally done and exited the room; My hair had been curled and put up half way, while the other half cascaded down, my eyes had black eye shadow and black eyeliner, my eye lashes had been curled up with mascara, it made my brown eyes look dangerous and sexy. The look was finished with a matte maroon lipstick that made my lips look plump and delicious, I winked at myself in the mirror and smiled, I have never looked this beautiful before. The woman came back into the room with a long black dress “put this on” she handed me the dress and went to sit down on the bed. I walked back to the bathroom and put the dress on, when I came out, I walked straight to the mirror to look at myself, wow, my eyes widened at the sight; the dress looked beautiful on me. It was a one shoulder dress, tight on my skin that came down all the way to my feet and an opening on one of my legs that started just below the hip. The woman came up to me and handed me black 4” stilettos with an ankle strap, I put them on, having the heels made the whole look, look so much better.

               We walked out of the room and headed down a long corridor, I noticed that all the walls were decorated with some type of gold, whoever lived here really liked that color I thought to myself. I couldn’t help but to start feeling uneasy, there was something about this place I just couldn’t put my finger on it. “If you keep following this, you’ll come across some huge double doors, you are to go in there, enjoy yourself” the woman smiled and walked off into another hallway. I started walking the way she told me to go, and after a few minutes I finally came across the big doors she told me about. I stepped up to them ready to push them open, but they opened by themselves, I soon came to find out that two men had opened them from the other side and stood guard. There was soft music playing in the room, so I headed in, as soon as I saw the opening and the people in the middle of the room I realized where I was… this was the place from my dreams. I gasped and started to panic, was I in another nightmare? I haven’t had one in close to two months, this is different though, it’s never happened this way before.   

               I walked more until I came to stand right below the balcony of the second floor and everyone turned to look at me, they moved out of the way creating a walkway, just like in the dream, three men started walking towards me. When I looked at the man in the middle all of my memories suddenly rushed back, I remember everything.   

               *Ciaran*

               - 1500 YEARS AGO-

               My father was an extremely strict man, everything had to go his way, if anyone disobeyed him, they were killed on the spot. He did not believe in just delivering the final blow, no he would drain them of their blood and then decapitate them. He was a powerful Vampire, probably one of the most powerful vampires in all of history, everyone feared him including myself. How he became so powerful, I never knew. I would one day take over my father’s kingdom, every thousand years vampires would go into hibernation for another thousand years before they would be woken up again; during that time, I would be the ruler for the next thousand years, I just had to wait 500 years for my time.  

               My father had been preparing me to take over and rule the way he did. I wasn’t as merciless as my father was, but I was slowly learning. When the time was getting close for my take over, I met my mate, she was as cruel as she was beautiful. I couldn’t wait to rule with her by my side, she had a twin sister that was identical to her, and they called themselves the Gemini twins; I thought that was just a nickname they had given to themselves, until one day I came across a book that talked about Gemini twins.

                                                           The myth of the Gemini twins:

               This is a myth as old as creation itself, a long time ago there were two sets of twins that had fallen in love with each other. Unfortunately, their families did not approve of their union ship. The twins decided to run away from their homes and go their separate ways to live the life that they wanted. Their parents were not happy with the decision that they had made so they decided to get them back at any means possible. The father of the girls decided to consult a witch to find their ware abouts and cast a spell to keep them home forever, and only marry the person they thought would be fit for them. The witch agreed to help, she had been secretly in love with the eldest of the twin boys and wanted him for herself, but he refused her love, and she was angry. Instead she casted a spell to turn the boys into werewolves and the girls into vampires, she was so angry that she accidentally transferred her powers into the eldest of both sets of twins, making them the strongest of werewolves and the strongest of vampires. The witch tried attacking them and that’s when they discovered that they had powers of their own, they accidentally killed the witch trying to defend themselves. They didn’t know that they possessed those powers, they tried to see if the younger of the twins had powers of their own, but they didn’t possess magical powers like the eldest did; they did discover though that the werewolf was stronger and faster than an Alpha werewolf, and the vampire was stronger and faster than a royal vampire.  

               When the eldest of the twins had a child of their own, the child was born both werewolf and vampire, stronger than both parents and with the magical abilities that surpassed the most powerful witch. Creatures learned of the powers these creatures possessed and hunted them down, making their special race extinct. One thousand years passed, and two sets of twins were born, one to the werewolves and one to the vampires. As the twins grew up, they became the fastest and the strongest of their races with the eldest having one type of power that they used to protect their pack, or coven. Their children were always born stronger than the parent and one magical power of their own that they discovered it will only appear for the first time when they needed it the most.

               These sets of twins came to be known as the Gemini twins, known for their strength and power. As word got out that these beings existed, others started hunting them down to see if there was a way to take their power but failed. One particular vampire came across one of the vampire Gemini’s and learned of a way to steal her power, unfortunately for him, it was the younger sister so he only managed to steal the strength and speed; now that he knew it was possible he set out to look for the eldest so that he too could have her powers. After the incident, word spread and Gemini’s went into hiding, and as time passed it was forgotten that they even existed, but every thousand years two sets of twins are still born with these abilities, even if they don’t know it themselves.

               I put the book down and took a deep breath, if everything that was written on there was true, then that would mean that my mate is one of these creatures. I started walking out of the library and thought to myself who could’ve written this book, and why was it just laying around where anyone could find it? I needed to find her and ask her if this was all true. I was making my way to our room when I heard her screaming, using my super speed I ran to her only to find my father had sunken his teeth into her and drained her of her blood. I dropped to my knees, heartbroken of what my father had done “but why?” I looked up to him, “power must be taken from those who are weak” he smiled and walked out. I went to her, she was still alive barely “I’m the youngest, my sister got away” those were the last words she said to me before she died.    

               I was furious, my father drained her of her blood and only because he wanted to become more powerful than he already was, I swear I will make him pay for this. Shortly after he went into hibernation, I started working on my plan. I would also take the power of the Gemini twins; I will become stronger than my father and kill him. According to the book, Gemini twins would only be born once every thousand years, I just had to wait. Years passed and I had twin daughters with a random vampire, she died during childbirth, I handed them over to my brother as I could not love them the way they needed me to, they were not daughters of my mate, so I didn’t want them. As they grew up, they had become stronger and faster than any vampire, I knew then that they were the Gemini twins. I was able to capture one and drained her blood and took her strength and speed, I had never felt so powerful before, I needed more. Unfortunately, the eldest one disappeared and ran away; I will let her go for now, wherever she was, she would have a child who would possess more power than her, then I would take both of them.  

               *Lilith*

               *Flashback*

               It was my seventh birthday today and I was out playing with my cousin Odalis, we were having a lot of fun and were just waiting for my party to start. I was running after her when suddenly I was grabbed from behind, I screamed, and a huge wave of power left me and knocked Odalis and the man down. I started to run trying to get Odalis to move but I was too slow, the man shifted into a monster with wings and took me away. I tried to get away from him, but he held on too tight for me to try and escape. We eventually made it to a castle. “I’m sorry for the way our meeting went my dear” “who are you?” I snapped at him, “oh, how rude of me, I am your Grandfather Ciaran” he smiled, I looked at him confused. “From the looks of your face I’m guessing that your mother hasn’t told you what she is, well let me explain it to you… have a seat” I cautiously moved to where there was a chair and sat down “I am a royal vampire, that explains the wings, anyone who is not of royal blood is not able to grow wings. Your mother is a vampire as well” he started walking around me “she is not just any vampire though, she happens to be a Gemini vampire twin, known for strength and speed. Because she is the eldest, she also has powers. Oh and your father seems to be a Gemini twin as well, which means you’re a hybrid that will be the most powerful creature known to this earth; I am here to take that power from you my dear so that I can finally take my revenge. In the process I will also get rid of anyone that gets in my way  and it’s all thanks to you.”    

               He started moving closer to me, so I got up and ran trying to find an exit, my little legs were not fast enough, and he caught me right away. He sunk his teeth into my neck and started to suck my blood, just then my mom busted through the door and knocked him out “Mom!” I ran into her arms crying and she took me away. Once we were outside, she shifted into the winged creature and carried me away. She spotted my father running in the woods and flew down to him. “Lilith, are you ok?” he took me in his arms and checked me for any injuries, “that man said that he was my grandpa, and that he wanted to take my powers to get revenge on someone” both my parents gasped and hugged me tight “mom? Dad? What was he talking about?” I looked up at both of them. Both of them sighed and looked at each other with worried looks “I’m sorry you had to be dragged in this so young” my mom finally said “your father and I are special beings, and because of that we passed down powers to you that my father wants to take for himself” I started crying. Why would my own grandfather want to bring harm to me? I didn’t ask to have these powers; I don’t even know what powers I have “what powers are you talking about?” I asked “unfortunately we don’t know, the powers will only show up when you need them the most. There is one more thing you should know… your mother and I have decided to hide you from this world, that way he cannot find you again; if we do this, you will not remember who you were, or who we are. This world will seem like it never existed” my father said, “but what about when I shift, wont I know then?” “You will undergo a spell that will keep that side of you locked away, until somebody awakens it” he said. “I don’t want to do this” I started crying and hugged my parents again “I know darling, but it’s for your own safety” my mother said as warmly as she could, even though I didn’t want to I nodded in agreement.   

               *End Flashback*  

               “Grandfather” I said starting to get angry “I see you remember me dear” he smirked “then you must remember why you are here?” he added “I remember, but I am not going to let you” I snapped at him. He clapped his hands and everyone that was in there left, they were so fast it seemed like a blur. “Whether you let me or not, I am still taking your power. You see there is someone that is going to wake up soon and I need to kill him. Unfortunately, I cannot do so unless I have your powers”, he started moving closer to me and I took a step back as I took on a fighting position. “Who is this someone you want to kill, and why do you need my powers to do it?” I asked, curiosity taking over “My father” my eyes widened “when I was younger, my father killed my mate for her powers as she was a Gemini twin herself. I swore I would do everything I could to kill him for what he did” he started to sound angry, I could tell there was a little sadness in his voice too. “So where is your father now? Shouldn’t he be dead by now or something?” he laughed like I had just told a joke and I got annoyed at that, “you really don’t know anything about vampires, do you my dear?” he wiped a fake tear from his eye. “What do you mean?” he looked at me again deciding whether he should tell me or not “vampires live forever my dear, unless someone manages to kill us. Every thousand years vampires go into a hibernation state to make sure we keep on living longer; after a thousand years of hibernating my father is finally going to wake up” “A thousand years?” I asked not believing what I was hearing. “Yes… now enough with talking” he suddenly got a weird look on his face and charged at me.

               *Raven*

               Jack and I moved back to Bloodmoon pack, the werewolves who had found me when I was younger, with Ciaran out there it was best to stay within the pack’s safety. The same day we arrived I learned that Cole made it here as well, but in a bad condition, he wasn’t lying when he said he was a good guy, I guess. He went into a coma since he was almost drained of his blood, also because he teleported too much in his state. I was asked if I could help Dominick wake him up, apparently Ciaran managed to take Lilith and we needed more information on him before attacking. I pinpointed the location of where he was keeping her, with Dominick’s intel on how many vampires there were, we just needed to come up with a good rescue plan but, I needed to know what we were walking into aside from the vampires. He was too drained, and it would take at least a few days to wake him up. “Isn’t there something else you could try to wake him up at least for a few minutes?” Jack asked in a rushed tone “I’m sorry Jack, Dominick and I are trying our hardest, but due to his state his body is refusing to wake up” I said back to him.   

               I heard Alpha Adrien sigh; he and Alpha Derek were on the phone so that if and when Cole woke up, they would listen in on the conversation. “Thank you Raven, well at least we know where she is being held we can use that and come up with a plan” Alpha Derek said not sounding too convinced, then it hit me, and I jumped up in excitement startling everyone in the room “Raven is everything ok?” Jack sounded alarmed. “Yes! Sorry, I just remembered a spell that my mother taught me when I was younger; I may not be able to wake him up, but with Dominick’s help I can look at his memories” Dominick slammed his hand over his face “I’m such an i***t, why didn’t I think of that” I couldn’t help but giggle. “Great! How long will it take?” Alpha Adrien said over the phone “not long, should be just a few minutes” I turned to Dominick addressing him now “Ready?” he nodded in approval. We took each other’s hands and started chanting.  

               After we came out of the trance, I didn’t even know how to form the words together in what we had seen in Cole’s memories. I kept stuttering trying to form words, but I couldn’t; Dominick put a hand on my shoulder and gave me a look saying not to worry he’ll handle it. “He Drank Gemini blood” you could hear loud gasps in the room and on the other line “What does that mean exactly?” Alpha Adrian asked. “Gemini twins, Like Alpha Derek himself are considered stronger and faster than any other werewolves, the vampires also have a set of Gemini twins; the younger of the twins only possess strength and speed, but the eldest can have the ability of a magical power. By draining their blood Ciaran was able to take the speed and strength of the younger one, but since he killed the older one first, her power was lost” Dominick explained. There was silence that filled the room before Adrian spoke “So what does that mean for Lilith?” “The eldest of the Gemini twins are able to pass down their abilities to their children, but because she is the daughter of both Gemini’s besides being a hybrid she will have the powers beyond those of a witch” Alpha Derek said, “We need to get to her fast, if Ciaran manages to take her powers as well, war is going to break out throughout the land.” “There is one more thing” Everyone turned to look at Dominick “What is it?” asked Jack “His father is waking up from hibernation soon, and he’s taken the blood of more Gemini’s than Ciaran ever did, he was one of the most powerful vampires known to history, we will need to fight him as well if it comes to that.”     

               I just stood there frozen, our world was probably going into war with a power crazed vampire, and somehow, we were in the middle of it. “Raven, are you ok?” I heard Jacks voice and I snapped back into reality “yeah, yeah, sorry I got lost in my thoughts” I said coming back to my feet. “Are you sure?” “Yeah, I was just thinking how we are probably going into war, and all because I took Lilith’s protection spell away” I sadly said and looked down “Raven, do not blame yourself. It was bound to happen anyway. This is not your fault” Alpha Derek reassured me, I just smiled even though he couldn’t see me. “So, Dominick, how many vampires in total did you say there are?” this time Alpha Adrian asked “when Cole and I escaped there were about 2000 vampires, but that could have changed if he’s expecting an attack. I could get us in undetected though” “Perfect, we will take 1,500 of my warriors, and Alpha Derek how many warriors can we take from your pack?” Alpha Adrian asked Alpha Derek “we will take 2,000 from my pack, I want to leave the rest here in case of another attack” he said, “when do we leave?” Dominick asked “immediately” Alpha Adrian said.
