My Birth Right

Chapter 7: Revelations

*Cole*

               -2 months ago-

               I took five of my most trusted warriors to travel to the states with me to find my Granddaughter niece. As soon as I stepped foot out of the plane, I felt a strong presence, strong enough to break the spell that was keeping her dormant. I shifted into my giant bat, and with my super speed I flew there without being noticed by the humans, but when I got there, there were only remains and traces of magic that were left behind. Whoever did this was smart to leave, I had to find whoever did this, luckily for me I had a few tricks up my sleeve.

               I caught scent of Lilith and decided to follow it, I came to a small house and decided to look around, clothes were packed up and nobody was here. The witch probably had told her to run away, smart I thought to myself, then I caught another scent, somebody got to her first. I went back to where I first had caught her scent and still felt the magic that was left behind, I called my warriors to tell them where I was and to catch up with me as fast as they could, one of my warriors is a warlock so he would come in handy with this. He teleported himself and the rest to where I was. They were not of royal blood so they couldn’t shift like I could, besides being stronger and faster that was one of the only differences non royal vampires had, I was glad to have a warlock on my side it made it easier for my warriors to keep up with me.

               “Dominick can you track this witch?” I asked as soon as they got here, he went over to the middle of the circle that had been left behind, his eyes started to glow as he recited a tracking spell. “This witch is strong, I can track her, but it’ll take some time, this feels like she left scared and in a hurry, but she’s strong and tried to cover her tracks as best she could, if it wasn’t for her fear, we would have hit a dead end here” he said after getting out of his trance. I let my brother know that she was running and left almost no trace, and that it would be hard to find her. He was not incredibly happy to hear that and urged me to find her as fast as we could.

               Almost two months had passed, and Dominick had finally found the Witch we were looking for, she was hiding in a small touristy island very close to Italy, she was running a bar in an obvious and familiar giant tree that screamed of the energy she had left behind in the states. I haven’t seen one of these trees in almost ten years I smiled to myself. I was looking from the outside in with the help from Dominick, I finally spotted her in a room upstairs, and with his help we teleported right to where she was and casted a spell to keep her from escaping. “AAAAHHHHH” she screamed as soon as she saw us.

               “There is no use in screaming my dear no one will be able to hear you, Dominick here has casted a spell to keep any noise from getting out, and don’t try to escape either the spell will prevent you from that as well” I smirked at her “w-who are y-you?” she almost whispered because of how scared she was. I circled her, studying her to make sure she wasn’t going to try anything funny. I then caught sight of the necklace she was wearing, I know that necklace all too well, “you’re of the Claw coven” I said as her eyes went wide “how do you know of the Claw coven?” her fear was starting to leave her and instead replaced with curiosity. “You must be Raven, last living member of the Claw coven” I smiled at her “last time I saw you I was helping Alpha Blake rescue you, and his daughter.”

               “How? And why? You’re supposed to be bad right?” she asked confused “that doesn’t matter right now, what matters is that you know where Lilith is, and I need you to tell me” “what makes you think I know where she is?” she was starting to gain confidence. “I know you’re the one the released her from the protection spell, you left traces of your magic behind… She’s in danger and I need to find her before Ciaran does” I was starting to get a little impatient with her “who is Ciaran?” right, not many people knew about my brother that weren’t vampires, and now I had to explain to her “Ciaran is my brother and he is the man that killed your coven 10 years ago” she gasped and a flash of pain appeared in her eyes, but she quickly hid it.  

               I softened up a bit, I forgot she had only been a child when my brother decided to murder her entire family “Raven, Lilith is a special being that holds a lot of power; if my brother finds her your coven isn’t the only one that will go extinct from this world, he plans on destroying many lives.” She looked at me even more scared now than she had been before “why?” she asked with teary eyes “because he’s evil” I was about to say more when she cut in “she’s in London back with her pack” she whispered. “Thank you Raven I really appreciate you telling me. You will need to hide again some place safe; I suggest going back to the werewolves that took you in. I will see you again when the time is right” and with that Dominick teleported us out.

               We went back to Romania to the castle where we lived, I was determined to tell Ciaran that we lost all traces of Lilith, I then would leave, find her, and hide her from him to keep her safe. “Welcome back brother were you able to find my granddaughter?” with a serious and evil tone he asked me while looking at me unfaced “I’m sorry to tell you this brother, but we lost all traces of her. We can’t find her anywhere” I said with a straight face so he wouldn’t see past the lie. “Well that’s a shame” he stood up from his chair and started walking towards me “I was really hoping that you would bring her back this time when you got back” “this time? What do you mean this time?” I calmly asked but inside I started to panic, did he see through the lie? With his super speed Ciaran grabbed me by the neck and slammed me against the wall holding me up so my feet were not touching the ground, making it hard for me to get away.

               “I know you’re the one that let her escape ten years ago, did you actually think you could hide something like that from me?” he was fuming in anger, his grip tightening on my neck “Ciaran, w-what a-are you t-talking a-about?” I managed to struggle the words out, the pain was too much on my throat, he slammed me on the wall again “don’t play dumb with me Cole” he then threw me across the room, I started coughing trying to catch my breath, maybe if I take out my wings now I can get away, just as I had the thought he grabbed me again and sunk his fangs on my neck “NOO!” I screamed, he now had access to all of my memories. “So that’s where she is” he smirked at me looking me straight in the eyes before dropping me to the floor “I’ll have to move my troops” he laughed as he exited the room. “Guards! Lock him up in the dungeon and get ready to invade Darkwood!” I heard him say, before the guards could get to me, Dominick appeared and teleported us out of there.

               “Dominick, we need to get to the Bloodmoon pack” my voice barely came out as a whisper, he was carrying me through the woods trying to get out of vampire territory “You’re too weak, another teleportation could be bad for you, I barely managed to get you out of there” he worriedly said “this is more important…please” I pleaded. He sighed and looked at me for a minute making sure this Is what I wanted, he grabbed on to me then we teleported again.

               “WHAT THE f**k!!!” Jack yelled at the top of his lungs ready to attack us, as soon as he saw who we were he rushed to my side and helped Dominick set me on a couch. “Where is Alpha Adrian? This is urgent” I was barely managing to get the words out “he left not that long ago with Alpha Derek, they’re heading back to his pack, the vampires started moving towards Darkwood” Jack looked at me concerned “Cole, what’s going on? Do you have any idea what’s going on?” he was starting to get angry; Jack knew about me and was in the inner circle including Darrion the Beta and their Alpha. The previous Alpha and I had given him the assignment on looking after Raven about 5 years ago when he became of age, knowing he was back made me feel better about Raven, she had listened to me. I had to tell him about my brother’s plan of taking Lilith since he now knew where she was. “Ciaran found her and he’s on his way to Darkwood pack as we speak, he moved his troops out that way, there’s most likely going to be an attack” I managed to get out “I’ll let the Alpha know right away” that was all I heard before darkness consumed me.

               *Adrian*

               We were driving as fast as we could back to Alpha Derek’s lands when I received a mind link from Jack and told me everything that had just happened “thank you for the update Jack, how is Cole doing?” I asked through the mind link “not good, Dominick says he was drained of blood and teleporting here didn’t help him, he’s in the process of healing him right now” I could tell that he wanted to say something else, so I decided to ask him “what’s on your mind Jack?” “I became really close friends with Lilith while watching over Raven, please make sure nothing happens to her, I care about her too much” he was scared for her “I’ll do whatever I can” I made a silent promise to him and cut off the mind link.

               “Is everything ok Adrian?” Derek asked with a concerned look on his face, “Cole showed up at my pack drained of blood, and very weak. Ciaran has ordered an attack on your pack… and he knows Lilith is there” I said the last part lowly, but loud enough for him to hear, his eyes flashed black meaning his wolf was trying to come out and take control, but he steadied himself “we need to drive faster and get there before he does” he growled. Darrion nodded his head and sped up, I just hoped that we would make it in time.  

               After a few hours of driving, we were finally coming up to the Darkwood castle. We hadn’t seen any vampires on the way, so we were hoping that we had made it on time. My wolf Damon kept pacing back and forth in my head, the closer we got the more uneasy he seemed to feel, it was driving me crazy and was wondering what the hell was going on with him, but he wasn’t answering me. We finally made the drive up the road to the front of the castle, as soon as I got out, I was hit with the most amazing smell of rain and fresh wet dirt “Mate!” I heard Damon say.

               *Lilith*

               I was walking out on the side garden with Cathy walking by my side, I wanted to be outside for when my uncle showed up. I just couldn’t wait to see him, since he was identical to my dad, I wanted to get that feeling that he was close. I noticed that there were more people outside than there usually was, and the warriors kept scouting around us. “Something seems off” I told Cathy while looking around at all the warriors “with so many wolves around from other packs it’s probably just a precaution” she shrugged It off, but she also seemed alert.

               Ilene started pacing around in my head and it was making me feel uneasy with everything that was going on, “Lilith, is everything ok?” Cathy stopped and looked over at me, I stopped walking as well “I don’t know, my wolf showed up earlier today and she told me danger was coming, she’s been pacing around in my head and its making me nervous” I admitted “I’m sure it’s probably nothing” she said again starting to walk again, then I got hit with the most incredible smell ever.

               It was the smell of fresh rain but stronger and more intoxicating, I was drawn to it “Hey Lilith! You’re zoning out” Cathy was talking but I couldn’t pay attention to her I was too focused on this smell that was hypnotizing me, I started walking with my nose leading the way, Cathy trying to catch my attention. The smell was leading me toward one of the entrances to the garden, a man appeared, and I stopped dead in my tracks “Lilith what’s going on with you?” Cathy asked me but I couldn’t answer her I was too distracted; my eyes were set on this man that was just standing a few feet in front of me. She looked to where I had my gaze and as softly as she could she said “Ooh” with a smirk on her face and backed away a few steps, I could tell the amusement she held in her voice, but I ignored her.

               There in front of me stood a man that was over six feet tall, he had a very muscular build it was obvious that he worked out possibly every day; He was wearing dark blue jeans and a loose polo shirt that made him look so sexy. I trailed him all the way up, he had loosely but short dark brown hair that was also a bit messy, dark green eyes that went so well with his tanned skin and a super sexy smile that made my heart skip a beat, I had to remember to catch my breath. I looked back up at his eyes and I stopped there I could tell that he had been checking me out too. “Mate!” I heard my wolf say.

               My eyes widened in amazement, and I gasped, he started moving towards me and I him “Watch out!” Cathy’s scream snapped me out of my zone right before I was snatched up into the air and was being carried away “NOO!” I heard the man yell. My uncle ran into the garden followed by others, then an attack broke out. Everyone started shifting into their wolves and the other people who were attacking in human forms, but they seemed inhuman. The ground below me had become a bloody mess in less than a minute, wolves were ripping apart the intruders, the intruders were ripping hearts out of the wolves and breaking their necks, they seemed too strong to be human, what is happening? I thought to myself.

               I looked up to see what was carrying me away, it was a creature with giant bat like wings with features of a bat on his face, it was as if he was half human half bat, is this a vampire? I got scared as the creature locked eyes with me they were completely black. “Hello again Lilith” he smirked showing me his fangs I tried to back away in fear only to be reminded that he was holding on to me while we flew away, I started squirming trying to get away and his grip tightened on my arms. “Oh, don’t tell me you forgot about me?” there was amusement in his voice, I started to panic as memories of me being kidnapped came rushing back “Grandpa” he smiled, and I immediately lost consciousness.   

 *Adrian*

               I followed the smell towards the side of the garden of the castle, when I came to the entrance there stood the most beautiful girl I had ever seen. Long brown wavy hair that fell down complimenting her curvy figure. Beautiful brown eyes that seemed to look right into my soul. She was checking me out and I could smell her arousal, Damon was urging me to go to her and devour her right here right now, but I had to push him back, I couldn’t help but smile at the thought. I heard her catch her breath, I was happy knowing that I already had that effect on her, I appreciated her already and I didn’t even know her yet.  

               I started walking to her and she started walking to me, “Watch out!” the girl that was walking next to her yelled and my beautiful mate was snatched into the air “NOO!” I yelled at the top of my lungs. Derek and some of his warriors ran to my side “Lilith no! not again” Derek said, his heart breaking; then suddenly vampires attacked from everywhere. Damon was beyond furious, he took control of my body and shifted. Damon started ripping vampires apart without mercy, heads, arms, and legs were scattered everywhere, I was a bloody mess. Some of the vampires were strong and fast, some wolves were having a hard time keeping up with them even in their wolf forms, the vampires had managed to kill a few wolves by breaking their necks and ripping their hearts out, they were ruthless creatures. My wolf was stronger due to the fact that I was an Alpha, the Betas were the next strongest wolves and then the Gammas, followed by the rest. The average werewolf was between 4 and 5 feet tall, but despite their size every wolf trained hard so that when it came to fighting, we all had a good chance in surviving whatever attack came our way.   

               Damon wanted to get the fight over and done with as soon as possible so we could start looking for our mate, as much as we wanted to ditch the fight we were needed here. With my rage and drive to find our mate we managed to end the fight within thirty minutes at least. We all shifted back and put on some shorts that were kept close by since our clothes would rip apart during the shift and we always came out naked after we shifted back, so we needed to keep extra clothes close by.  “I’m going after her” I said out loud to whoever could hear me “Adrian you can’t, you don’t even know which way she was taken” Darrion stated “I don’t care, she’s my mate, she’s in trouble and I’ve got to find her and save her” I growled, Damon wanted to come out again, Darrion took a step back and bowed his head “I understand Alpha, but we need to come up with a plan, we can’t just wonder off aimlessly” I snapped my head up and started to walk towards Darrion ready to punch him when I felt a hand on my shoulder turning my attention to whoever stopped me.  

               “Adrian listen to your Beta” Derek said with a sad voice “as much as it hurts me as well, we can’t just wonder off into who knows where without a plan” I started to relax a bit “but Derek she’s my mate, I have to save her” I pleaded “I know Adrian, and I’m sorry that your first encounter with your mate had to be this way, you have to listen to reason though we will save her” Derek started to walk away towards the caste when he stopped and turned to look at me again “oh, and Adrian, I’m glad my niece has you for a mate, you’re a good one. Now go get cleaned up and rest so we can start planning my niece’s rescue” he smiled at me making me feel better. “Thank you, Derek, that means a lot to me” I made my way up to the castle and caught scent of Lilith and went up to her room, I inhaled as much of her scent as I could. Frustrated I rubbed my face with my hands and felt useless, I let my mate down, as her mate I was supposed to protect her, and I let her down on the first day at that. I hope she’ll be able to forgive me when this is all over.

               *Derek*

               I was devastated, my niece had been taken away again, and I wasn’t anywhere close to protect her. I was in my office trying to come up with a plan to save her. I had been deep in thought when a knock at the door snapped me out of my thoughts “come in” I straightened myself up. Cathy the she-wolf I had assigned to look after Lilith walked in, “Cathy what can I help you with my dear?” she was still covered in blood from the fight that had taken place. She was extraordinarily strong and was a skilled warrior from an incredibly young age, that’s why I had assigned her to watch over Lilith. “Alpha Derek, I tried following Lilith but was intercepted by many vampires that caused me to lose sight of where she was taken. I wanted to ask if I could join the rescuing team. Lilith has become a really good friend and I consider her a sister; I want to be there for her when we rescue her” she firmly stated.

               As I was about to give her an answer, another knock came at the door “come in” I said. I looked over at Cathy with an apologetic look and she nodded in understanding, Wesley my Beta and Darrion, Bloodmoon’s Beta walked in. Cathy gasped and looked towards the door as Darrion was walking in, he ran over to her, picked her up and started kissing her and she kissed back “eh hem” I cleared my throat and smiled over at a blushing Cathy, she then stood to Darrion’s side holding on to his hand. Darrion was smiling down at her, honestly in the two months that I was up in the Bloodmoon pack, I don’t think that I ever saw him looking so happy as he does now being right next to her, good for him I thought to myself. “Wesley, Darrion” I nodded to them “Alpha” Wesley was the first one to speak “we counted how many vampires we found dead, there were about 200 of them, with 20 deaths. Five being from the packs that came to visit and 15 of our own” heartache spread through me as I mind linked the families of those who had passed, it was always sad and hard to lose one of our own, being Alpha wasn’t easy. “Thank you, Wesley,” I said trying not to choke on my own voice. “It seems that their objective was to create a distraction so that no one could follow your niece while she was being carried away” I slammed my fists on the desk “Damn it! Ciaran had this all planned out” I growled.  

               “Darrion!” I looked over at him “yes Alpha?” “Is Cole still at your pack? We are going to need his help. Please get in contact with him and have him come here as soon as possible” “I’m sorry Alpha, Cole went into a coma, he collapsed as soon as he told Jack whatever he could manage out.” Damn it I thought to myself and sat down on my chair feeling defeated already. “I know a witch that might be able to help” we all turned our heads over to Cathy “how is a witch supposed to help?” I angrily asked, “she’s not just any witch, her name is Raven, she’s the one that removed Lilith’s spell” she said with a smile “What?” Darrion asked sounding angry, Cathy jumped back releasing her hold on his hand, then he softened up immediately. “I’m sorry Cathy, I didn’t mean to get angry, but I’m pretty sure you just said Raven?” without realizing it they had now caught my full attention, I wanted to know what was so special about this Raven. “What’s so special about this Raven?” Wesley beat me in asking, Darrion smiled “Raven Claw, last living descendant of the Claw Coven” finally we were getting somewhere.
