Chapter 6: Memories PT. 2

*Lilith*

               “I don’t remember much about being kidnapped, but I remember semi agreeing to have my memory erased, everything in between and after is a blur, it was as if I blacked out or something for the majority of the time” I said to them “well that’s too bad, we were hoping you could give us some answers on what happened during that time” Odalis said sounding disappointed “maybe they’ll come back to her slowly” Cathy added in “what about you Darcel? What do you have to say about this?” I asked. He had just been standing there quiet, looking at me as if trying to read me “I just came here to restore your memories, if you can’t remember something it’s because you probably went through some kind trauma” he said calmly “trauma? What do you mean?” Odalis was the one to ask beating me to it “I mean that if something happened while she was kidnapped the trauma from it might have caused an involuntary memory loss or block. It is up to her to remember those events on her own” he started to gather his things “I take my leave now, good luck” he nodded at me one last time before he disappeared into thin air.

               Odalis looked like she wasn’t too pleased with the answer and looked to be lost in thought, “why do you want to know about my memories from that time?” I was curious to hear what she had to say, she looked at me for a little bit and sighed “the day that you got your memories wiped, or kidnapped I’m not too sure, but your parents also went missing. My dad thought that after we restored your memories, we would have a lead in finding them” “what do you mean? I thought my parents were dead” I stated “I don’t know… but my dad was the only one that I know of that knew what your parents were doing and why. They were supposed to meet up with him after, but they never made it, he searched for them for months but never found them.” “Where is your dad now?” I asked her, I needed to talk to him “he’s out helping out another pack, he won’t be back until your birthday celebration.”  

               That was all that was said that day. For the next few weeks, I had been out exploring with Cathy, she showed me her wolf Zoey, it was a beautiful dark brown wolf with streaks of black I thought it matched her personality all too well. She also told me everything I needed to know about werewolves, that your wolf is a totally separate being living in your mind, the mind link, when we first shift and about the mate bond. All of this sounded like a fairy tale but at the same time the thought of finding my own mate excited me.  

               “So how do you know when you find your mate? And how come you haven’t found yours yet?” I curiously asked, Cathy had turned 19 this year and from what she told me once you turn 18 and have your wolf, you’re mature enough for your wolf to find your mate, so my curiosity was getting the better of me. Then I started thinking, I wonder if my parents ever told me about it, even if they did, I didn’t remember it now. “Well I’ve been in the human world with you this whole time, and it’s rare for a wolf to have a human mate, it doesn’t happen very often, but it is possible” “I see, I’m sorry that I have kept you away from finding that” I said apologetically “hey, don’t worry about that. It was my choice to be there for you; besides there’s going to be wolves from other packs attending your party, who knows maybe my mate will be there since he doesn’t seem to be from this pack” she shrugged her shoulders, but then she smiled to herself, probably excited to check out all the fresh meat that was to come, I smiled too, just thinking about it.  

               It was already August, and my birthday was in a few days, werewolves from other packs had already started showing up. I was starting to feel really nervous about it, it would be the first time I would be shifting and honestly, I was a little scared. “There’s nothing to be afraid of” I heard a voice say. “Who said that?” I looked around to see if I could find the person that said that, but there was no one around “you’re not going to find anyone… I am your wolf, Ilene, and I’m within yourself” Holy s**t my wolf just talked to me, I thought she wasn’t supposed to show up for another three days. “We are special Lilith that’s why I was able to come to you early, I feel that we may be in danger very soon” “Danger? From what?” “I can’t tell, but I feel it coming” she told me, this is not good, I’ve got to find Cathy and let her know.

               *Adrian*

               “The vampires seem to have moved out of the territory borders” Alpha Derek said, “with that being said, I will be heading back home, as you know my niece’s birthday is in three days and I would like to show up before her celebration, would you reconsider going since the threat is no longer here?” “I’m not too sure, the threat has stopped for now, but my wolf and I feel uneasy like there is something wrong” I said, “I understand, then I will take my leave” “thank you for assisting my pack in our time of need Alpha Derek, sorry to have kept you away from your home for so long, and please wish your niece a happy birthday from me.”  

               A knock came at the door just as I was shaking Alpha Derek’s hand, wishing him safe travels, “come in” I said, my Beta Darrion walked in looking worried “Darrion is something wrong?” I asked starting to get concerned. “Alphas” he bowed his head “I’m happy to see that you haven’t left yet Alpha Derek, this news concerns you as well… One of our warriors that trailed the vampires spotted them heading towards Darkwood pack, your lands Alpha Derek” I stood up in alarm and saw that Alpha Derek had a worried and scared look on his face.

               “Everything alright Alpha Derek?” I asked cautiously “Alpha Adrian, I’m sorry to ask, but will you go back to Darkwood with me? I’m afraid this attack is directed towards my niece, and she might be in danger” he said with a worried tone “Danger? Why would your niece be in danger?” Darrion cut in. “It was about 10 years ago; my niece was kidnapped by a giant winged vampire. After she was rescued, my brother and sister-in-law decided to erase her from the supernatural world. My brother and his wife disappeared as well” he started to get sad “why would some vampire kidnap your niece? And if she was erased how come she’s back?” I asked with curiosity. “Someone awoke her, and we had no choice but to bring her back to keep her safe” he paused “the reason why she’s in danger is because my brother and I are the Gemini twins, and the vampire that wants to take her is her grandfather.”

               I could not believe what I was just hearing, the Gemini twins was just a story that my father had told me about that was thousands of years old, more like a myth. “How is this possible? And how come we were not informed of this?” I was starting to get angry “with all due respect Adrian, your father knew about all of this, he thought it would be best to keep it a secret since it was just within my family, and also so no unknown dangers would ever reach the werewolf community. Your father was a wise man, and I’m sorry he kept that secret from you.” I sighed “I understand very well, my father was a man of many secrets… Darrion make arrangements for us to leave. I will notify Jack to return immediately and take care of things here while we’re gone.”

               I mind linked Jack and he showed up almost right away, “Jack I’m glad you’re back, how is your mission going?” I greeted him with a hug, glad to see my friend again, “She’s been pretty scared lately, I think it was a good idea to come back. She says she’s going to be found and I reassured her that she would be safe here with the protection of the pack” he said. I brought him up to speed on what was happening, and he had a look on his face that I did not like very much “Adrian I’m not too sure, but I think that girl has to do with what happened to Raven all those years ago, the story fits too well. Also, I’m positive that she’s also the one that woke her up and brought her back to the supernatural again.” “I don’t know what to tell you Jack, but we will find out what’s going on” I put a hand on his shoulder to steady his nervousness. “Adrian ready to go? Alpha Derek is waiting” Darrion said urging me to leave “oh hey Jack” Darrion waved at Jack, and he waved back with a smile “yeah I’ll be right there” I turned back to Jack “I leave the pack in your hands while we’re gone, please let me know if anything happens” “I will” we said our goodbyes and left for Darkwood pack.

               *Lilith*

               Odalis told me that Uncle Derek was coming back today, I couldn’t wait for him to get here, I wanted to see him. I also needed to ask him so many questions, I had a feeling that he had all the answers I needed. “Oh, Dad’s going to be so happy to see you” Odalis squealed “I’m so happy too, I’m going to see him finally.” I had been living here for almost two months since I had arrived here, I was already starting to like living here, I didn’t miss my life at the states at all. Cathy felt the same way, so we decided to sell our house and permanently live here. That was the best decision we had ever made so far, I was happy, I have a family that loves me, and my best friend is here as well, life was great.
