Chapter 3.

Alpha Jack cleared his throat, getting my attention. ZADE looked like he was ready to kill the two strangers that were in my room, even though one happened to be my mate. I finally found my voice after pulling away from my mate's head buried in my neck. He stood up straight and quickly apologized for his behavior to Alpha Jack. "Who are you" I asked. "My name is Nathan. This is my father, Beta Cameron. We are from the Blood Hills Pack in the east. We are here for the Alpha meetings. Our Alpha Lucas could not attend due to prior arrangements", he explained. Then he asked "What is your name". "My name is Jenna", I told him. I didn't have any parents to introduce, but Alpha Jack was the closest thing to a father that I had ever had. I introduced him and my best friend Zade. Zade shook his hand. After that, Zade came around quickly and a few seconds later was laughing and joking with Nathan like they had known each other for years. That was until Beta Cameron spoke up. "Can someone please explain to me why this girl was naked and strapped to a pole in the front yard and receiving more lashes at one time then I have ever heard of one getting all at once'. This silenced the room. The doctor was staring at Alpha Jack waiting for an explanation. We all were actually. ZADE spoke up for his father."It was the Luna. My mother. She hates Jenna and will find any reason to punish her. And let me say this now as I have witnesses. I, Zade Johnson of the Revenge Hills Pack and future Alpha of the pack hereby reject Luna Lacy Johnson as my mother and my Luna". Alpha Jack fell to his knees in pain. By denouncing the Luna as his mother, he was also rejecting Alpha Jack as his father. Beta Cameron spoke quickly to Zade. ZADE then said "I Zade Johnson of Revenge Hills pack only accepts Alpha Jack Johnson as my father and as my Alpha. I reject the Luna due to the crimes she has committed against our pack members" . When he finished, he helped Alpha Jack to stand back up on his feet and set him in the chair until he was feeling better. ZADE linked Gus and Brian to go arrest his mother for crimes against the pack as Beta Cameron linked a member of the Elder council to come at once. Luckily, the doctor had already spoken to one come to find out. A dear friend of his. Elder Micah stepped into the room and everyone bowed except for me. I looked at the old man standing in front of me. As I looked into his eyes, I began to see blurry images of a castle, then of fire, then wolves that looked like they were wearing collars. Suddenly, as if he knew what I was seeing he closed his eyes and held them shut for just a few seconds to break whatever vision I was seeing. He looked at me like he wanted to tell me something but he couldn't. He was forbidden to say a word. I tried to focus back on his eyes but he made certain not to look me straight into my eyes. Elder Micah spoke "Alpha Jack is what I have heard true about the crimes your Luna has committed against this young girl". I watched as Alpha Jack nodded his head. "Very well. Alpha Jack, your mate, is to remain in the dungeon under lock until the council has time to review everything and meet on this subject. She is to be treated like any other criminal with only the bare necessities until we reach a verdict. Am I understand?" Elder Micah asked. Alpha Jack only nodded. It was my turn to speak up. "Please, Elder Micah. Please know that Alpha Jack and no other members of this pack had anything to do with what she ordered. They were only following her orders. Alpha Jack has always done everything he possibly could do to help me despite the mate bond. He has been a father figure to me my entire life and I don't want anyone to blame him", I explained. Elder Micah looked at me and smiled softly. "My dear child, you do hold a heart of pure gold and your light will lead us all" With that, Elder Micah disappeared. "Where did he go", Zade asked, confused. The doctor only grinned and shrugged his shoulders as he left the room. "Do you get the feeling that those two know something that we do not" Beta Cameron asked, looking at everyone. Nathan was not listening to a word. He was now lying under me in my bed holding onto me for dear life. "Nathan, get out of that bed now and let her heal" Beta Cameron said, scolding his son. Nathan kissed my cheek as he quickly did as his father instructed him to do. "It's ok. I'm healed." I told everyone as I peeled back the bandage to show the wounds had closed already. Beta Cameron stared at me strangely. Almost as if he wanted to ask me something but wouldn't. I watched as he shook his head strangely. Not enough for anyone to notice except for me.
