Chapter 11

Amethyst's POV

"Will you come back soon?" Ara asked Ady.

Ady ruffled her hair with a small smile.

"I'll try to come back soon" Ady said.

Then, he turned to look at me.

"Be careful on your way back and let us know when you arrive in California" I told him and he nodded.

"I will. Now, come here and give your big brother a goodbye hug" he said as he opened his arms wide.

I chuckled and walked up to him to give him a hug.

"Can't you act a little sweeter when I'm around? We barely see each other and I miss my sweet little Amethyst" Ady whined with a pout.

I laughed.

That was years ago when we were still kids.

That sweet and innocent Amethyst was long gone.

"Get back safely" I told him and he smiled before giving me a kiss on the forehead.

"I will. Take care of yourselves and call me regularly. I don't care if I'm in a meeting or what. Just call me and I'll pick up" he said and both Ara and I nodded.

Ady gave Ara a goodbye kiss on the forehead and then he walked away from us.

We waved him off as he disappeared inside the airport to go back to California.

"I'm going to miss Ady" Ara said as we walked back to the car.

"I will too. Now, what do you want to eat on the way back? Are you craving something?" I asked Ara.

Ara nodded vigorously.

"I really want to eat ice cream" she said as she bat her eyelashes at me.

I chuckled and nodded.

"Yey!" Ara cheered excitedly and I smiled.

We got to our car and drove to a nearby ice cream shop to get Ara her craving.

"By the way, I asked Celine to find you an OB-GYN and she said she had an aunt who is one" I started as we drove off.

"I...Actually, both Ady and I want you to get proper care during your pregnancy. I can have Celine schedule a proper check up for you once you agree" I said and glanced at her.

Ara nodded.

"Okay. I'll do what's best for my baby and I" she said with a smile.

"Also, I'll give you a credit card under my name so you can use it as you please. I know you must have some cash on you but keep it for now in case you'll need it in the future" I told her.

Ara smiled as she looked at me.

"Okay. Thank you" she said and I gave her a small smile.

We went to an ice cream shop and ate there as Ara wished.

Then, my phone rang and I answered it when I saw that it was my secretary.

"Good afternoon, miss Wright. I wanted to call you to inform you that someone is looking for you"

My brows furrowed.

"Who is it and why are they looking for me?" I asked.

"The person who called a while back, miss Wright. The one who said they had something that you own"

Oh that.

"They didn't have to personally deliver it but do thank them in my behalf" I said.

"Uhhh...actually, miss they want you here to personally receive it"

My brows furrowed again.

"What?" I spat.

"They said they want you to be here"

I massaged my temple.

"What even is that 'belonging' of mine that I need to receive it personally on MY DAY OFF" I said in frustration.

"I'm not sure, miss. Should I go and ask?"

I sighed.

"No, Alice. You don't have to do that. If they're so eager to make me go there, it only makes me think that it's some type of scam. So either tell them nicely to just keep whatever it is they're trying to give me or you can tell them I said to fck off and leave" I told her.

"Okay, miss Wright. I'll deliver the message"

"Thank you, Alice. You can leave early if you want. I'll see you tomorrow" I said.

"Thank you, miss Wright. I'll see you tomorrow"

Then we ended the call.

Ara looked at me worried.

"Is everything okay? What was that about?" she asked.

"Nothing. Just someone trying to ruin my day off" I said.

"Are you sure it's nothing? It didn't sound like nothing to me" she said

"Yes, I'm sure. Anyway, do you want to go somewhere after this?" I asked her.

Ara nodded and she took out something from her bag.

She took out a small notebook and opened it to show me.

"I made a bucket list" she said excitedly.

I chuckled and smiled as I looked at it.

She had so many things listed in there but there was one that caught my eye the most.

"You want to visit an orphanage? Why?" I asked a little nervous.

Ara immediately waved her hands in my face when she saw my expression.

"Omg. It's not what you think, Amy. I just want to do some charity work since I haven't done one in a while" she said in panic.

I immediately sighed in relief.

Ara laughed.

"Okay. Just tell me when you want it to be so I can set my schedule" I told her and she nodded.

Ara and I finished our little ice cream date and we headed home since we agreed to do her bucket list some other time because she already felt tired.

I had a ton of work piled up but she didn't have to know that.

She'd only blame herself and she'll get stressed.

After a while, we arrived at home.

Ara immediately went to her room to rest while I went to my office.

I started to finish paper work from paper work and draft to draft so I wouldn't have to worry about it tomorrow when I return to work.

I ended up pulling an all nighter.

I showered and got dressed for work without any sleep.

Like any sleepless and busy day, I decided to dress like a hobo.

The exact reason why I'm not fit to be a model.

Because I didn't care much about how I look as long as my designs are good.

It's not like anyone knows I'm a fashion designer anyway.

Who would know?

I tied my hair into a really messy bun and wore a pair of thick eyeglasses to hide my eyebags.

I didn't even bother wear any type of makeup but I did apply lipbalm on my lips.

I made myself a cup of coffee with multiple espresso shots and ate an apple to keep me up for the day.

I made some breakfast for Ara and I then woke her up to eat together.

"Are you going to work like that?" she asked as she eyed me up and down.

"Yes. Do I look homeless enough?" I asked and she giggle.

"Amy, you're a famous fashion designer. Shouldn't you dress nicely when you go to work?" she said as she took a spoonful of food in her mouth.

"Correction. A famous ANONYMOUS fashion designer. No one would know that I actually work in the fashion industry. And it helps in keeping my identity confidential, don't you think so too?" I said and she chuckled and agreed.

"That's true but aren't you just too lazy to dress up?" she said and I chuckled.

"Well, that too" I said and we both laughed.

We finished up breakfast and I immediately went to work while Ara stayed at home.

When I got to my office, my assistant was already there wait for me.

"Good morning, miss Wright" she greeted me and I gave her a smile.

"Good morning, Alice" I said and walked straight to my table.

I plopped down to my chair and grabbed a pile of papers.

I started or should I say continued working.

I went to the storage room to check something and when I returned I saw my assistant with 2 men inside my office as if they were arguing.

"Sir, please leave. We already settled your business with us yesterday" I overheard my assistant.

My brows furrowed.

"What's happening here?" I said and they all turned to look at me.

My eyes met with a familiar pair of blue eyes.

That guy from the party.

Then, I turned to look at the other guy.

It was also the guy from the party.

The one who tried to flirt with me.

"What are you guys doing here?" I asked with a raised brow.

"We're looking for miss Amethyst Wright" the guy who flirted with me said.

I crossed my arms in front of my chest.

"You're looking at her now" I said and I saw how their expressions turned into one of shock.

"You're Amethyst Wright" the same guy from earlier said.

"Yes. Do you have a problem with that?" I asked with my brows furrowed.

He glanced at the other guy and then at me again before he shook his head.

I had a staring contest with the man who caught me in the party.

He looked at me curiously as he eyed me up and down.

"Can you state your business already and leave? As you can obviously see, I don't have much time to waste" I said.

The man with blue eyes whose name I don't even know raised his eyebrow at me.

"You're not her" he suddenly said.

I almost forgot that he can actually speak.

"Bring me to her now" he said and I chuckled in disbelief.

"Bring you to who?" I said.

"Didn't you say you were looking for Amethyst Wright? I am Amethyst Wright. Believe it or not, I don't care. Just get out of here quickly because I'm not in the mood to deal with any types of bs right now" I said as I walked pass them.

But then, I was pulled back by my arm.

He held me by my waist as he swiftly removed my hair tie.

Then, he removed my glasses as he stared straight into my eyes.

I was stunned.

Shocked.

It happened so quickly that I froze in place.

I found myself in that same position again with the same feeling.

This man's baby blue eyes pierced into my emerald green ones.

His rosy lips was only a ruler apart from my own.

I saw his chiseled jaw clench as his eyebrows furrowed.

"It's actually you" he muttered.

"Interesting" he said and my eyebrows furrowed as I pushed him away.

"What do you think you're doing? Do you want to get sued for s****l harassment?" I said angrily as my heart hammered in my chest.

He tilted his head to the side.

"It didn't seem to offend the first two times that happened so why just now?" he said.

I looked at him confused.

First two times?

As far as I remember, it only happened at the party.

Or did it?

I tried to rack my brain to remember.

When did the other time happen?

Then, suddenly I remembered.

That night at the restaurant.

He was the same man who also caught me by the bathroom.

I immediately forgot about him because of the phone call from Ady.

So that was the first time.

I massaged the bridge of my nose.

"What do you want?" I asked in frustration.

"I wanted to return this to you" he said and the other guy handed him a paper bag.

Then, he gave it to me.

I looked at it with a frown.

"What's that supposed to be?" I said.

"It's yours" he said.

I sighed and took it.

"Thanks. Now, leave" I said.

"Where's my p*****t?" he asked and I looked at him in disbelief.

"Alice, can you get me my wallet, please" I said.

"Yes, miss" she said.

The man looked at me with his brows furrowed.

"I don't need your money" he said with a frown.

I raised a brow at him.

"Then, what do you want?" I said.

He looked at me for a moment.

"Your number" he said.

I looked at him a little wide eyed.

What's this man going on about?

My number?

Is he crazy?

I just sighed and I put my hand in front of him.

"Phone" I said.

The guy beside him took out a phone and gave it to me.

I quickly typed in a number and gave it to him.

"There. Now, go before I call security on you for trespassing" I said out of patience.

He pressed something on the phone and suddenly I heard ringing from my desk.

"Answer it" he said or more like commanded.

I rolled my eyes as I walked to my table and grabbed the phone.

"Leave" I said through the phone as I looked at the man.

He just looked at me for a moment and then smirked.

I turned off the call.

"Alice, please assist them out" I said as I returned my chair.

I didn't throw them a second glance as I continued my work.

How frustrating.

After a while, Alice came back in to my office.

"I'm so sorry, miss Wright. I didn't know they'd barge in here" she said apologetically.

"It's not your fault" I told her while still focused on my work.

"Anyway, do you know them?" I asked her while still going through the papers.

"Yes. I found out yesterday because I was curious who they were when they came here" she started.

"The man who acts like a secretary is Cody Lee. Then, the other man is mr. Devon Alexus Shaw. He's the CEO of Shaw Enterprises" she said and that made me stop as I look up at me assistant.

"Devon Alexus Shaw?" I said and she nodded.

Where have I heard that name before?
