Leaving

1008 Words
Violet's POV I don't know how long I've been in my room crying, but I eventually cried myself to sleep. When I woke, it was due to a consistent knock on my door. I mumbled a quiet, "come in." Knowing that whichever wolf it is outside the door would hear me.  I'm face down in my pillow, not bothering to look up to see who it is that is now sitting on the edge of my bed. I feel a soft kiss on top of my head and a hand rubbing my back. The waterworks begin to flow more as I realize it's Chris and that I'm not his mate.  I love that he never pushes me to talk until I am ready. He just provides support and comfort, which is something I greatly appreciate. "I don't want to go." I finally mumble, breaking the silence. When I lift my head, my heart aches to see his face. He looks just as torn about this as I do. I snuggle against his chest and I can hear his heart beating rapidly.  "I don't want you to leave either, but we both know you have to." I shake my head vigorously, "Not if I reject him." I hear a soft chuckle from this wonderful man, filling my ears with delight. "We both know you won't do that. You're the kindest woman I have ever know. You wouldn't hurt someone on purpose. I hate to say this, but you should at least give him a chance before resorting to rejection." I know he's right, but I don't want to leave my home. Everyone I love resides in this pack.  "Is he still here?" He's quiet for a moment, and then I hear my answer.  "I'm right here, Violet." I look at my doorway and see Alpha Liam standing there with Alice. The guilt and sorrow in her eyes doesn't go un noticed by me. She shouldn't feel bad though, it's not her fault. She's not the one who placed my fate with some stranger.  The both slowly enter my room and take a seat on the window sill. "I'll give you some privacy." Chris says before getting up and leaving.  Liam is now the one to stand and make his way to my bedside, sitting where Chris was just a moment ago. "Hey. I don't expect you to trust or fall in love with me right away. I do promise to care for you and protect you with every ounce of my being. We will take this as slow as you need. I just ask that you give me a chance to prove that I am worthy of you."  Ugh. Why does he have to be such a gentleman. If he was an asshole, I could easily reject him... I think. I don't know what to say, so I just nod my head with a small smile.  "Thank you! You have no idea how happy you just made me!" He exclaims, clearly excited. "I'll let you pack while I make a phone call to my Beta. Okay?" Again, I just nod my head.  Alice rushes to my side, "Violet, I am so sorry! I honestly thought you and Chris were mates. You know I'm just a phone call away and you can visit whenever you want." I give my big sister a hug and we let a few tears roll onto each other. "I love you, Alice. You have nothing to apologize for."  She brings me in closer, and whispers in my ear. "My wolf doesn't trust him. Please, please, keep your guard up and call me if you need anything." I feel a chill run down my spine. "Why let me go then?" I question her.  "You're his mate. He would never harm you. Give him a chance, but only one! I already told him that I will kill him if he hurts you in any way." I smile at my protective sister. I know damn well that she means every word she says. "Noah wants to come in." I was about to ask her where he was when there was a knock on my door and in walked our brother.  He tackled my in a bear hug. "Can't. Breathe." I muttered out and he let go. "Sorry. I'm going to miss you, sis." This was the first time I've ever seen him  look so sad and serious. "I'm going to miss you too. All of you." I reply, holding back tears. I've done enough of that today.  "Noah?" I want to ask him a favor, since he's the only one that can help. He looks at me and waits for me to continue with what I have to say. "Will you look after Chris for me? Make sure he's okay and lives a happy life without me." His face suddenly hardens.  "Violet." He rubs his face with both hands. "I can promise that I'll look out for him, but I can't force him to be happy."  I knew that, but I wanted him to at least try and be happy.  "Thanks."  The both help me pack my belongings and proceed to the living room. The pack and our parents were waiting for me. Everyone began to bid me farewell and to enjoy me time with the new pack and mate. My parents told me to call everynight and to not forget to visit them. That they would also come and visit Liam and I at my new home.  Alice's POV With my sister being mated to Alpha Liam, I decided to join forces with them. Not for him or his pack, but I was doing it for my sister. I want to protect her the best that I can. As everyone said goodbye and waved them off, my wolf was howling in sadness. My little sister is gone. I'm going to miss her so much, but I have to be strong. I have a pack the run, and tomorrow I am holding my first pack meeting during breakfast.
