Violet

Violet's POV 

I was kicking Noah's butt at a car racing racing video game when Chris interrupted us. "Violet, would you like to go for a walk with me through the garden?" He asks me, nervously. Not going to lie, I have a huge crush on this man. I toss the controller to one of the other pack members as I stand up. "That sounds delightful." I smile in response. He sticks his hand out and I interlace my fingers with his. Butterflies are invading my stomach at the touch of his skin. 

He leads us outside and to the luxurious garden. We walk in a comfortable silence as I admire the scenery as always. When we reach a wooden bench, he asks me to sit with him. "Chris, are you okay?" I break the silence, seeing as he looks nervous still. 

Taking a deep breath, he finally tells me what's on his mind. "I know I'm still too young to know who my mate is, but I have a strong feeling that it's you. At least, I hope it is." He says as he rubs the back of his neck sheepishly. "What I'm trying to say is, that, I love you. I have for so long now and had to get it off my chest. Being human, I know you can choose whoever to spend the rest of your life with. I'm just hoping it's me. If you don't feel the same way, I totally underst-

I cut him off by placing my lips on his. My first kiss. And I initiated it! I never thought I would do something so bold! He seems surprised at first, but then moves his lips along with mine. 

"I love you too, Chris." The smile on his face when I say that has my heart skipping. My happiness is stopped when I suddenly remember something. 

"Wait, what if I'm not your mate? You wanted to save everything for her and I just stole your first kiss! I'm so sorry." I begin to cry, realizing what I had done to my best friend. I feel his warm hands cup my face and lift it up to meet his eyes on mine. "Don't ever apologize for expressing your feelings, especially to me. Like I said before, I truly believe you are my mate and I wouldn't change it for the world. If, for some reason you're not, I still don't regret this magical kiss and the way you make me feel." 

He is now the one to capture my lips! This has got to be the best night of my life. I have to tell Alice about this and see what she thinks about the whole mate thing. 

Chris pulls back as his eye glaze over, meaning someone is mind linking him. He sighs, "As much as I hate to let you go, your sister is looking for you." I chuckle at how adorable he is. "I'll see you later then, my love." I place a quick, sweet kiss on those plump lips before searching for Alice. 

It took me awhile, but I finally found her outside. I could see her backside, so I ran up to her happily. That's until I noticed she had company and I instantly felt bad for ruining their meeting. However, nothing compared to the sinking feeling my heart felt when the man she was meeting with shouted out the word mate while looking at me. 

No. This can't be happening. I don't want to be fated to this man. I don't even know who he is! I do the only logical thing I can think of, run. I ran as fast as I could to my bedroom, locking the door behind me. 

Alice's POV

"Alpha Liam, are you sure that my sister is your mate?" I know how dumb that sounds, but I had to be 100% sure that it is Violet he was talking about and not some other nearby pack member. 'Of course I'm sure!" He exclaims through gritted teeth, clearly pissed off that I would ask such a thing. 

Well, s**t. This throws a dagger in my plans to kick him out of here and deny any alliance with his pack. 

"Sit. There are some things you should know about Violet." He stares at me for a second, with a grin plastered on his face. Taking a seat he asks me to tell me everything  about her.  "I can't tell you everything, that is up to her. However, I will tell you the basics. For starters, she is human. If you hurt her in anyway, I won't hesitate to kill you. Understood?" He nods his head and gestures for me to continue.

I proceed to tell him just vague information about her, in order to help him swoon her over. I feel guilty, but if the moon goddess paired them together, it must be for a reason.
