Alpha Alice

The Party

Alice's POV

Rose is also human, like my mom. She's not only the mate of the beta, but also the gamma. To say she has a lot of responsibilities is an understatement. She kicks ass at her job though and has a large group of supporters when needed. Rose is the trainer of the female fighters, with her assistant Sarah. Sarah is the toughest and strongest female warrior, except me of course. 

Violet sits and watches everyday. I feel bad for her. Our dad could at least let her train with Rose. She should learn to defend herself in case she finds herself in a threatening position. I mentally keep that in mind, with a bunch of other rules I plan to make when I take the Alpha role. 

Now, when I say Violet sits and watches, I don't mean just me. She thinks she's sneakingly passing glances at Chris, but it doesn't go unnoticed by me. I really hope to the moon goddess that they are mates. They would be the perfect couple and I know that I can trust Chris with her. Plus, it would mean that she doesn't have to leave our pack. 

"Okay! That's enough for you birthday girl. Time to get you ready for your party!" My mom walks over, excitement written all over her beautiful face. There's no use in arguing with her, so I follow her lead with Violet as well. "I know how much you hate shopping, so mom and I went without you and bought your dress!" My sister shrieks as we walk into her room. 

"Oh, thank you! You guys are the best! Now, let me get dressed so we can get this night over with." They both look disappointed and I instantly feel bad. "Unless, you guys want to get ready together?" I ask them, trying to brighten their moods. "We would love that." Mom answers with a soft smile, and Violet smiles as well. 

"Plus, I don't trust you in doing makeup." My sister adds and I roll my eyes. "Oh, mine too!" Our mom is naturally a beauty, so she keeps her makeup plain and simple, except for parties. As in today, which is why she is asking my sister to do hers as well. 

After our hair and makeup are done, it's time to see this dress that bought for me. I unzip the bag and gawk at what's inside. I don't normally wear dresses, but this is stunning! It's a strapless, forest green, floor length dress. There's a slit on the right leg side and I find that sexy as hell. I hug them both and thank them. It's nothing too fancy, but it's perfect for me. 

There's a knock on the door and Violet opens it to let Rose inside. She let's out a loud whistle when looking at me. "Hot damn! Whoever your mate is sure is one lucky guy!" I find myself laughing along with everyone else in the room. Rose always is blunt about everything and that is one of the qualities I love most about her. 

"Oh, so I came up here to let you know that the other packs have begun to arrive for the party." I suddenly feel nervous. What if my mate is here from one of those other packs? My wolf is calm, so that's a good sign. If he was here, she would be pacing around excitedly in my head. She is eager and wants to meet her soulmate, where as I do not. 

"We'll give you a minute. Come downstairs soon." My mother says as she places a kiss on my cheek. I'm now left alone in Violet's room. Okay, you can do this! Just go down stairs, greet everyone, and enjoy myself for a night. I should speak with each alpha from these packs since they are my alliances and I would like to keep it that way. 

I compose myself and make my way down to the party. I have to admit, the ballroom looks amazing. I wouldn't expect anything less from the party planner. Aka, my mom. 

I make my way around the room and surprisingly find myself having fun. A lot of the alphas I talk to are men around my fathers age who are hoping that their sons are my mate. It takes all my will power to not roll my eyes at those comments. I'm not going to lie though, there are a ton of good looking men here. After a few hours, my father and mother take the stage and usher me to join them. 

"Thank you all for joining us in the celebration of Alice's 18th birthday! I am honored to pass my title on to her and know my pack will be in good hands."  My father announces before letting my mom speak next. "Alice, I know you will make us all proud and be a powerful leader like your father. You have been waiting for this moment since you were a young girl and I can't believe the day is here. Happy birthday, princess." 

I thank them both and proceed to do the exchanging of title ritual. This consist of slicing the palm of my hand and my father doing the same. We let drops of our blood drop into a goblet and mix together. I soon feel a surge within my body and can tell I now hold an alpha aura.  

I look out to the crowd and everyone is kneeling, everyone except for the alphas. I now hold the same rank as them. I smile as I ask them all to join me for a run. I hear a chorus of "Yes, Alpha!" all throughout the room. Even the humans join us, because they are every part of this pack as us wolves. Violet hops on to my wolf form, My mother goes on my father, Rose with Kevin, and her mother with Jackson. Believe it or not, my grandmother is a vampire, so she easily runs and keeps up with out pace. 

The only person who I wish was here still is Louise. She was my biological father's aunt, but she was more like a grandmother to me. I loved her so much and was devastated when she passed away five years ago. I like to think she is here with us though in spirit.
