“Have we met before, Mr. Wade? What’s with all the questions?” Anna asked with an innocent look, leaving Jacob baffled.
“What?” Jacob was stunned, but he quickly recovered and re-echoed his question. “Why are you back in Canada, Anna?”
Anna shook her head and looked around. “You’re scaring me, Mr. Wade. I don’t think we have ever met, but here you are, throwing questions at me. Are you sure you are mentally stable?” Anna used the exact words Doctor Fred used on her a year ago when she asked for her child, and as expected, Jacob had the same reaction she did then.
