Chapter 2

(Ash)

As we walk back to the palace I can't help but smile as I watch Rose. She has a beautiful glow. Pregnancy looks amazing on her. I can't believe that in just over a week we will get to meet the babies.

"What are you smiling for?" she asks me.

I laugh as I have been caught watching her. I reach out and grab her hand.

"I just love watching you. You are an amazing woman, and I am so blessed to have you as my mate." I say leaning down to give her a kiss.

I watch as she blushes.

"I am huge. How can you still like the way I look?" She says looking down at her belly.

"You look amazing. You have not just one, but two little people in there. Soon we will get to meet them. Your body has changed to grow our family, and I think that is the most amazing thing you could do. I fell in love with you for you, not for your looks." I say pulling her in for a hug.

She leans up and kisses me. As I attempt to deepen the kiss, I hear a rustle behind me. I turn around to face the sound.

"My King and Queen, nice to see you." Raymond says with a smile.

"Hello, Raymond," Rose says to him with a smile.

"How are you doing Rose?" Raymond asks her.

"I am okay. I feel huge and I am tired. We are just headed back to the palace." Rose explains to him.

"How did Opal take the news?" Raymond asks.

"She already knew most of it. She is very observant." I tell him.

He chuckles. "Yes she is. She is an amazing person." He says with a slight smile.

Rose takes a moment and looks at him and then she smiles.

"Do you like her?" She asks him.

"Why do you ask that?" Raymond asks her with a shocked look on his face.

"It's just a feeling that I have," she says as she rubs her belly.

"Well to answer your question. Yes I do like her, but it wouldn't work out. She has a mate out there somewhere that is looking for her." Raymond says a bit sorrowfully.

"Actually she does not have a mate looking for her. She has already met her mate and he rejected her a few years ago." I say to him.

"That is horrible. I don't understand how some wolves can turn against the bond like that. I wish that I was blessed with a mate," Raymond says.

The three of us start the walk back to the palace.

"Things are changing, so maybe you will be blessed with a mate after things with Sol has been taken care of." Rose says to him.

"That is actually why I came to find you. Sol has disappeared. We have been tracking her for weeks now and she has been in the same place. But a few hours ago she left and we have not been able to locate her again," Raymond says.

"So what does that mean for us?" Rose asks looking at me.

"Nothing as of now. We will keep our guards in place, the vampires will continue to try and track her. Maggy is working on a protection spell. She has some of her old coven coming to help her tomorrow night." I say to her squeezing her hand.

"Okay. I just want to make sure that the babies are protected when they come. I don't want them to come in the middle of a war." Rose says with a sigh.

We make it to the palace doors.

"Well I will let the two of you rest. You have a busy day tomorrow." Raymond says to us as he turns and walks around.

"Are you joining us tomorrow?" Rose asks him.

"If you would like me to, I would love to come." He tells her with a smile.

"Yes, please come. You are important to me and have helped me so much. I want you to be a part of the celebration." She says.

"Then I will be here." He says turning and walking away.

We go in and walk up to our room. Rose walks into the bathroom and starts the bath. I follow her in. She turns and smiles at me.

"I am so blessed to have you in my life." She says walking up to me.

"I think I am blessed to have you." I say wrapping my arms around her and pulling her close.

Pulling away, she begins to undress for her bath.

"Wanna join me?" she asks with a sly smile.

"Yes. Definitely yes." I say as I start to pull my shirt off over my head, making her laugh.

We both step into the tub. I sit down first and she sits between my legs, resting her head back on my chest. I wrap my arms around her and rub her belly. I feel the babies start to move. They are so active sometimes.

We sit and relax for a while before we stand up and use the shower to wash up. We get out and I wrap a towel around myself after drying off. I help Rose dry off and she smiles as she walks out of the bathroom and into the closet.

I watch as she closes the door.

"Well that's odd," Aspen says to me.

"I know, what do you think she is doing?" I say to him.

"I'm not sure. Lilly blocked me out." Aspen tells me.

I walk over and knock on the closet door. "Rose, are you okay?" I ask through the closed door.

I hear her giggle.

"I'm fine, I'll be out in a moment." She calls back to me.

I go and sit on the bed, to give her some space as I wait for her to come out.

I hear the closet door open and lift my head to watch Rose as she walks out in a baby blue teddy.

"Wow," I say to her as she walks up to me.

"I already talked to the doctor and got the okay. We can have our fun now, because once they get here we won't be able to for awhile." She says climbing onto my lap to straddle me.

"And are you sure I won't hurt the babies any or cause any pain to you?" I ask her.

"Yes I am sure," she says leaning down to kiss me.

That was all that I needed. Before he knew it I had picked her up and flipped our positions. She is now laying on her back under me.

I look down at her to see her smiling up at me. I lean down to kiss her.

"I love you," I say to her.
