Serious

CAMILLA'S POV -- Sitting on the edge of Jared's big ass bed, my one leg bent and my other hangs over my foot. "When is this starting?" I ask without looking back. All I can think about is how he had that girl bent over here, her ass jiggling in the air and the worst part is, I keep on seeing it in my mind as if I'm hallucinating it. When Jared doesn't answer, I glance over my shoulder, and he's glancing at the time on his phone next to his bed. "In about five minutes." He murmurs, and I look away before he looks up at me. I anxiously watch as he signs into his camera app on the TV, and my foot swings back and forth while I wait for it to pop up. He scrolls past dozens of screens before activating a HC camera, whatever that stands for. The club pops up, a dozen of bodies striding past and Jared starts to chuckle, and my curiosity makes me turn to face him. He's staring at me, a smooth grin on his face and he has his hands resting behind his head. "Are you going to sit there the entire time?" He scoffs, making me feel silly for not wanting to sit on the s*x infested bed. "I'm comfortable," I shrug, and he hums in response. He clearly doesn't believe me, but that's okay because he's clearly wary about everything and everyone, and we haven't seen each other in a very long time. I would be wary too if he was the one who called me for help, but he's Jared and he would never call for help. Jared's gaze flicks past me, and he sits up as his eyes widen, "There," his eyebrows hop, and I turn to look at the TV. "Oh my God," I murmur when I see Derek and Alison striding in together, and his eyes immediately scan the room, and not casually, he's looking for something, someone...Me. No one would find Derek dead in such a place, so let's not talk about him being alive and walking foot in that bar. It's scruffy, dirty and full of criminals. "He's really there," I murmur amazed. "And that means he really did f*****g track you," Jared growls, clearly pissed off. I turn to look at him baffled, "He knows I stay here." Jared sits up, swinging his leg down the bed as he stares at me with the utter most serious expression, "And?" Jared's eyebrows furrow together, lines forming between them, "He can find me," my voice cracks as it goes one tone up and Jared rolls his eyes as he gets up from the bed, but what really makes me stare at him is how smoothly he does it. A normal person would lean back before pulling themselves up, but he effortlessly slides onto his knee and gets to his feet before he strides around the bed and comes to sit down beside me. "Here," he lifts the remote and exits the HC camera, and enlarges the small screens, "That's the garden, the garage, the back exit, the front, the gate, every window is here and there are guards on every inch of this property. Derek can try and enter, but he wouldn't get far. I even have patrols in the street, and they know each vehicle that's allowed on this property. So sleep sound tonight, because you're sleeping in a guarded castle, princess." He looks at me when he calls me princess, and my heart rate spikes and blood pumps through my cheeks. "Can we continue watching what Derek does?" I change the subject, and his Adam's apple bobs as he changes it back to the hidden camera. I drop my other leg when my toes start to feel numb, and I sit back and lean against my hands. "Watch, I bet he's asking the bartender if he's seen you," Jared scoffs, and I stare at the bartender as he leans closer, and a bright light lights up his face before he shakes his head. Derek whips around, looking down at his phone before glancing around, and then we watch him leave, and Alison suddenly stops him, pointing at the bar. "Is the happy couple already arguing?" Jared scoffs, but seeing them standing so close, looking so familiar with one another makes me sick. I wish I stayed when Alison showed up at our honeymoon, I wish I questioned them more, but after all the years I have grown to choose to flee. I want nothing to do with Alison, and only if I had the balls to stand up to her without my parents presence, but my instinct was to run away at the sight of her. She makes my blood boil, and just the sight of her spoiled little face makes me nauseous. "I hope they burn in hell,", "Do you want them dead?" Jared asks unexpectedly, and I face him, and then realize how serious he is. "What?" I frown, wanting to laugh, but I refrain from it. "Sorry, silly question," he glances around, avoiding eye contact with me like he's guilty, or hiding something. "No, seriously...what is it?" I insist on finding out the truth, but he just sighs, shaking his head, "It was a stupid joke, and I'm sorry. I forgot that you were a serious person," his tone is teasing, and he's smiling, but I feel like he's more serious than he's leading on. "I'm not that serious," I grit out, feeling a bit defensive about his accusation. I know how to have fun, not that I've had much in the last few years while working and maintaining my love life. "You've always been so serious." His eyebrows hop, and I scoff rebelliously. "I'm fun." I deadpan, and I also know that my stern tone and bland expression doesn't help my case. "Remember in sixth grade?" He raises a brow, and I frown as I try to remember what he's talking about, "Our year end party." He drags out, giving me a knowing look. "There were rules, and...", "And you were in charge." He rolls his eyes rather dramatically for a man. "Don't," I warn, and he starts to laugh, "Sorry officer, we were just trying to enjoy the cake in the pool," his sly smirk makes the hair at the back of my neck stand up. "It's a safety hazard!" I raise my voice, and he starts to laugh a little louder as he throws his hands in the air. "Stop!" I yell at him and I punch his arm, which hurts my knuckles a little. "Stop it, stop it! Get the cake out of the water before I call Miss Humbleberry!" He teases me in a high pitched voice while laughing his ass off while I'm getting more annoyed by the second. Jared suddenly stops laughing, and a grin takes over, "See? Serious." He leans towards me, bumping my shoulder with his.
