Chapter 6

Adra's POV

As I quickly moved away from Alpha Liam I couldn't decide if I should be flattered or upset at the recent events I can't even remember a time that Liam gave me the time of day or even looked in my direction. I was simply trying to get away and relax. "Why would he do this now I just don't understand I'm so close to getting my wolf so I can find my mate," She says talking to herself trying to simply understand what in the world is going on. You would think if he was my mate he would declare that and not just try and kiss me she thinks with a scowl on her face.

As she slows down to a walk instead of jogging feeling a little more comfortable now that she knew he wasn't following her. She heard a branch snap in the distance, she spins around hoping it was not Liam coming after her. As she glances around the woods there are no sounds .. which she realizes is very odd. Returning to a jog she sees her house and her dad sitting on the porch. With a loud sigh of relief, I yell and wave at my dad "Hi daddy" as my father stands up seeing me come jogging out of the woods he has a look of concern on his face "Are you ok baby girl you look like something scared you?" "yeah I'm fine daddy just heard something in the woods and figured I would jog just a little faster, what are you doing home already?" I give my dad a big hug and he puts his arm around my shoulders and we walk into the house.

"Alpha Elijah changed up the schedules they are doing a cookout tonight in honor of the graduating class and we have a visiting Alpha from another pack here looking for his mate. Word is he knows she is here." "Really? Who is the Alpha?" I look at my dad with extreme curiosity as I hadn't heard anyone was coming but then again I don't really take part in pack gossip

"Well as far as I have heard it's Alpha Damien of the Moonlight pack" I look at my father with wide-eyed surprise "You mean the Lycan Alpha? Oh wow, that's huge!!" my dad laughs as he walks into the kitchen "Well daughter dear I believe he puts on one shoe at a time the same as we do...don't you think?" He says to me with a hint of jesting in his eyes, I laugh "Yea daddy I'm sure he does....woah maybe that's what I heard, I wonder if he was over by the lake today? I was there relaxing with Alpha Liam when we heard a really loud roar that shook the trees. That's when I decided it was time to come home" my dad raises an eyebrow obviously not missing the fact that Liam was there with me. Taking a serious tone he says "Alpha Liam huh?" Looking straight into my eyes he asks "and just what was Alpha Liam doing there" "Well Ummm I was there relaxing when he came there and offered to sit with me, Oh crap on a cracker I completely forgot about my blanket there" "Adra I don't care about the blanket, is that all that happened" he says looking at me with his dad look "Yes uh yeah dad that's it ..... ok ok he tried to kiss me but I didn't let him and then there was the loud roar and I left really quickly that's it that's all that happened I promise!" I blurt out suddenly with wide eyes realizing I just told my dad everything I absolutely didn't want to.

My dad suddenly starts laughing at my embarrassment "Oh baby girl don't be so upset I just wanted to make sure he didn't try anything with you Alpha's son or not he is still a boy. I'm not happy about him trying to kiss you" he stops smiling"But you handled it, I'm proud of you" He says kissing forehead "as for the roar it very well could have been Alpha Damien and his beta James from what I know they ran here from the Triple Moon pack" "hmm I wonder why he would have roared like that?" I ask more to myself than to my father "Hard to tell baby girl hard to tell. But you better start getting ready its mandatory for all unmated females to be there to meet the Alpha and his Beta during the cookout, not to mention your mother is asking for you in the kitchens to help out a little" "Alright daddy let me grab a quick shower and change into something more suitable for the pack cookout" at the moment I had my bathing suit on with a pair of shorts.

I ran to my room and grab a shower when I got out I blow-dried my long black hair and put it into a french braid so it will be out of the way. I grab a nice pair of jeans with rips down the legs and one of my band t-shirts and threw on some converse. Some people dress up for these things but they are meant to be fun so I always like to dress in comfortable clothes, plus I always help my mom out in the pack kitchen and set up the tables for all of the events. As I came out of my room I can see my father standing there waiting for me. "Ready to go Adra?" "Yep all ready, let's go" I say smiling up at my father and putting my hand in the crook of his elbow as he leads me out of the house.

Olivia POV

Luna Rita comes into the kitchen practically running in her excitement "Oliva, oh my goddess Alpha Damian and his Beta James are here will we have enough food is everything prepared oh my word I hope this is good enough for him we are just such a small pack with not a lot to offer" I stop what I'm doing and cross the kitchen to stand by Luna Rita reaching out to pat her arm lightly for reassurance "Luna Rita we have plenty for everyone, is this the Lycan Alpha I keep hearing about" I say as I walk back over to continue cutting up the vegetables for the grill "Yes the same exact one my goodness he looks so young for being as old as he is I really wasn't expecting that" I stop and look up at her "What do you mean Luna?" The Luna moves closer to me as she isn't normally quite so loud about a visiting Alpha although she is very sweet and is excitable in a very adorable way "Well he looks like he might be in his early twenties and I know he is at least 100 years old and has been looking for his mate for almost 50 years" She says just loud enough that I can hear her "Really that long? and he thinks his mate is here in our little pack? That poor man I couldn't imagine being without my Ben that long" I say smiling at her sadly what an awful thought to be without your mate, your other half for so long. The Luna shakes her head in agreement "I absolutely agree with you Olivia, Oh my goodness look at the time I have to check on everything let me know if you need help in here" She says back over her shoulder as she runs out the door. I just smile at her and shake my head she is a very wonderful and kind person.

As I go back to doing my duties in the kitchen Alpha Elijah and two very good-looking younger men come walking into the kitchen. "Alpha," I say bowing my head in respect "Can I get you anything?" "No thank you, Olivia I would like to introduce you to Alpha Damien and his Beta James, they are here visiting looking for the Alpha's mate," he says with a beaming smile " Good afternoon Alpha Damien and Beta James" I say bowing my head to them. As I look at them I realize Luna Rita is correct they don't look a day over twenty-five.

"Good afternoon Ma'am," Alpha Damien says reaching his hand out to shake mine "We are here to speak with you about your daughter I believe her name is Adra?" As I look at him I can see the sparkle in his eye a bit of happiness at saying her name and I smile knowing that if this is what I think it is my daughter will be the most protected and loved woman in this country, everyone knows no one loves the way a Lycan loves their mate. I smile as I shake his hand "Why yes Alpha my daughter's name is Adra can I help you somehow?" With that, he puts his other hand on top of mine patting it softly "Yes ma'am I believe you can" He says giving me the biggest brightest smile I have ever seen.
