Chapter 5

Damien’s POV

We have been in the Triple moon pack for three days and I have yet to see her. Luna Christy has been beyond helpful taking me around the pack and introducing me to the unmated she-wolves. All in all, it’s been a very good visit however I am very antsy to get on the road to head over to the Black Forest and find my mate. “James!” I call to him as he stands leaning against a wall, speaking with a beautiful she-wolf, who is undoubtedly the huge flirt he is.

He turns and looks at me with his eyebrow raised and mind links me “damn alpha you have the worst timing” “hmmm I would say I have great timing since apparently I’m stopping you from making an ass out of yourself” I mind link back with a smirk on my face.

“Time to go Beta James” I say with a neutral look on my face removing all emotion. The she-wolf he is talking to blushes and runs off, James stalks over to me with a knowing smirk on his face. “Ok Alpha lets go find your bride”

As the warriors that came with us started packing the cars to head to the Black Forest pack I looked over at James “Hey I think I’m going to shift and run after the last few days Jax really wants out” James gives me a knowing smirk “Well how about I run with you, Roy would like a run as well” “sounds great to me” As we walk to the tree line I link my warriors letting them know we will meet them at the Black Forest pack. My head warrior Ian links back “Yes Alpha”

Once we reach a safe distance into the woods so as not to frighten anyone with our forms I let Jax take over. As my body grows and contorts into my form Jax stretches out into his Lycan form picking up our clothes and handing them to James’s Lycan Roy so he can put them in the sack he has. We begin to run as fast as we can stretching out our muscles and let me tell you we are fast about five times faster than any wolf. As we run thru the mountains we come to a clearing with a pond and he smells her Lillies and vanilla.

Jax says “MATE!” and turns his head sniffing the air and sure enough there she is “our mate is sitting with another wolf” Jax growls out as Roy and James come to stop beside us. James’ mind links “well I mean it’s not like she knows your her mate yet? Maybe that’s her boyfri.....” Just then they see the male start to lean towards her as if he is going to kiss her as she backs away she says something we can’t quite hear as she begins to try and stand. The male she is with grabs her hand making her stop.

Jax lets out a ferocious roar shaking all the tree’s in the area. James shifts back quickly to his human form to try and calm him “whoa big guy you can’t just attack people” knowing how fierce Lycans are and how protective they get “Mate tried to leave he tried to stop her” he says with drool dripping down his very large canines in his anger. “Look Jax she is going away now, it’s ok” he pats him on the back as he turns back into his Lycan Roy.

“You go follow mate make sure she is safe, I’m going to make sure he doesn’t follow” Jax and Damien growl out. “I will follow Alpha” Roy growls and stalks after her quietly to watch over her. Taking control of my Lycan form I hear the male say something so I turn to look at him “Adra did you ....” the male says staring at me wide-eyed, so that’s her name then I make a toothy smile and snarl at him before stalking into the woods to follow James and Roy. As we catch up with them I mind-link James “I believe her name is Adra” James taking control looks at me and gives me a toothy grin. As we continue to follow her from a distance we see a cute house up ahead with a very large man on the porch. We hear her yell “Hi daddy!” while waving, the man smiles and stands to greet his daughter hugging her tightly as they begin to chat we decide it’s time to head to the pack house to introduce ourselves to the Alpha and Luna so I can meet our mate.

We move further down the edge of the forest closer to the pack house changing back to our human forms and redressing before stepping out of the forest edge to find the Alpha and the Luna on the pack steps waving to us in greeting. We shrugged at each other and begin walking the distance to the front steps to meet them.

“We are SO very honored to have you here Alpha Damien” Luna Rita says “Yes welcome to our humble pack,” says Alpha Elijah as he raises his hand to shake mine “Thank you for having us we really appreciate your hospitality, my warriors should be here soon my beta and I decided to stretch our muscles and run from The Triple Moon pack” “Yes yes that’s not an issue at all” the Alpha says as he leads us into the pack house. It's a very beautiful building the outside looks like a large resort house with four floors and lots of large windows, as you walk in the staircase is to your left with a door before it that looks like it leads to a common room with a tv and games for pack use, to the right it opens into a large sitting room with what looks like a formal dining room leading off of it. Down the hallway in front of us is the Alpha’s office, as we head there the Luna says

"We have a large cookout planned for tonight we normally do it monthly with the pack, however with school ending we also decided to make it into a kind of celebration for everyone that’s graduated, we would be honored if you would attend” “Of course, I would be honored,” I say with a smile. The Luna practically jumps with joy “Oh my goddess Lycans here in our little pack I’m so excited, I must go now to help the girls” with that she runs down the hall to finish setting everything up. James and I smile at each other and continue to follow the Alpha into his office.

“So Alpha Damien you believe your mate is in my pack? Any idea who she might be?” James goes to speak and I raise my hand slightly just enough he notices it and stops. “As Alpha McFearson said I was out for a run one morning and smelled her before realizing I had left their pack lands, I did get to see her however I have no idea her name” I say with an emotionless face, Lycan or not I know some packs aren’t very happy losing members even though this pack is very well known for its acceptance of other shifters.

“Ok that’s great maybe you can tell me what she looks like and we can get this show on the road and maybe even have your mate to you before tonight’s cookout” Alpha Elijah says with a big smile on his face. “Well she has black hair and green eyes, she was with another girl who had pink hair.” The Alpha just looks at me with wide eyes, he must know who she is. “do you think he will tell the truth?” I ask Jax “if he knows what is good for him he will” Jax says with a toothy grin that I see in my mind’s eye.

“Well, I can’t be sure...but I think you might be talking about Adra, She turns 18 in a few days and will be having her first shift on the full moon here next week. As you know she may not be able to sense you yet since her wolf isn’t fully matured. However, her mother is our head cook here in the pack house and her father is one of my best warriors. We could go speak to her mother Olivia if you would like.” “That would be fantastic but only if you are sure I don’t wish to disrupt your pack in any way” “Oh it’s no bother at all Alpha Damien your kind of a legend around here already I’m sure it spread like wildfire you have arrived.” He says with a chuckle as we all stand to head to the pack kitchen.
