Chapter 3

Damien POV

I quickly run back to the pack house where I am staying as I'm dressing my beta James walks towards me.

"What are you doing out here man? Don't you ever sleep?" I laugh at him"You know I do James I just ...I had an odd dream and went for a run before I knew it I was in another pack territory. I guess I was so lost in what I was thinking about I don't know man I just was along for the ride I guess" He looks at me for a moment smiling "well find anything while you were out there?" He says with a grin. "You know James sometimes I think you are a mind reader," I say as I clap him on the back.

"Oh yeah? What happened Damien everything ok?" I turn and grab him by the shoulders in excitement "I think I found her James I think I have finally found her!!"

"OH THANK THE GODDESS" he practically screams "Well man where is she?" he starts looking around "James...she is not in my back pocket what are you doing" he laughs

James gets a serious look on his face"What..what do you mean she isn't with you? where the hell is she then?" "Well, that's what I need to figure out, like I said I was just running I have no idea where I was. but I don't think she has had her first shift yet. I mean it seemed like she knew I was there but not like I KNEW she was there. I think she might still be in school." "Well I guess we had better cancel the she-wolf show they are going to put on for you," he says with a smirk, I sigh "yeah goddess knows I hate this anyways the way the she-wolves just parade around, Lets go talk with Alpha McFearson and see if we can figure out where my mate lives"

As we head to the Alpha's office I'm in deep thought not really watching where I am going and bump into someone I feel them bounce off of me and look up realizing I've bumped into the Alpha's daughter Mia. She isn't a bad looking girl just not to my taste. She is just a bit under 6' with medium-length strawberry-red hair, and a thin athletic build. "Oh, Mia I'm sorry I was deep in thought I apologize" I reach out grabbing her shoulders to steady her. She gives me a very sweet smile while batting her eyelashes and tilting her head to the side in a show of respect and submission "Alpha Damien so wonderful to see you again, it's quite alright you can bump into me anytime" She says trying to sound seductive. I look at her for a moment with a very serious face "Again sorry to have bumped into you we have to continue to your father's office if you will excuse us" With that, we walked away again heading towards the Alpha's office.

"Man I think she likes you" James says smirking "James none of that has ever mattered to me you know as well as I do I'm only interested in my mate"

"yeah yeah I know I know but whew she is a pretty thing"

"James you should concentrate on finding your mate someday that could all come back to haunt you, When you live as long as we do MANY things come back around." I said with a serious tone.

"After searching for as long as we have I'm beyond happy that you have found your mate, but I still don't think my mate is out there" I can see the sadness in his eyes I know why he does the things he does we have both been searching for far too long and honestly even I was losing hope, that was before this morning. "Well, perhaps your mate is with mine don't give up hope my friend we have been together for a very long time we will find her" We stop at the Alpha McFearsons office door and knock, after a moment the door opens and Beta Harold is standing there smiling at us cheerfully.

"Alpha Damien Beta James please come in I was just finishing up with the list of unmated she-wolves for you to see."

"Thank you Alpha McFearson that's why we are here I believe i may have found my mate..." Before I can finish Alpha McFearson jumps out of his chair excitedly "Well? Where is she so I can let her family know she will be packing to leave and start the transfer paperwork."

"Well Alpha that's where the issue starts I went for a run this morning and I believe I ended up at a neighboring pack while lost in thought" Thinking he might be upset by this I put on a neutral face. "Well that could be a problem but we can figure that out, what direction did you go? I know the packs around here they are our allies, I'm sure I could make some calls for you and set up a meeting with the Alpha. It's a wonderful thing to have a mate, the best blessing the goddess ever gave me." He said with a huge smile on his face.

"I went to the east running probably for 45 minutes before I realized I was no longer in Hilltop pack lands anymore" Alpha McFearson pulls out the maps from the drawer in his desk and rolls it out. "Hmmm," he says in deep thought "that would make it either the Tripple Moon Pack or...Black Forest Pack, they are both in that direction they actually tend to share the high school the Black Forest built for all shifters and supernaturals in their area. Both of them are very nice packs."

"I really do thank you for this Alpha you know my search has been very arduous and long." "No problem Alpha Damien it's my honor I will call both packs and set up what I can for your arrival. I assume you will want to leave as soon as possible?"

"Yes we will be leaving within the hour as long as everything goes well," I say smiling "James tell the men to get the cars ready and everything packed we will be leaving as soon as possible" James nods and heads out the door to let the men know to be ready. Alpha McFearson motions for me to have a seat, as I sit in the chair across from him he picks up the phone to call the Alphas of the two possible packs.

"Good Morning Alpha Noah! How are you today? Oh yes, fine fine Lillian is great thank you for asking, how is Luna Christy doing? Great to hear, wonderful. Yes of course Noah I am calling in regards to Alpha Damiens's search for his mate. Yes, he is right here, funny thing happened he went for a run this morning ending up near your pack and Black Forests pack. He believes he saw his mate however he has no idea where he was. Yes if that would be fine with you he would like to leave within the hour and head to you. Yes yes, that will be fine thank you very much Alpha I will let him know. Of course, you have a great day as well." He sets the phone down and smiles at me "He is expecting you shall we call the Black Forest pack and set up a meeting there as well while we are at it?"

I can't help but smile at this kind man before me "Thank you very much Alpha McFearson I can't tell you again how grateful I am for all of your help, I'm going to run and pack quickly if you wouldn't mind calling Black forest for me and letting me know the details?"

"Yes, of course, Alpha Damien it's no issue at all you go get ready to leave you to have a mate to find!" He laughs as he ushers me out of his office. I can't believe it I am finally going to have my mate after searching for so very long. He heads to his guest room with a huge smile on his face never even noticing the girl that is watching him from the shadows.
