Chapter 31

Zyair pov We walked out of her room, I walked ahead of Creamy who was running to keep up with me, I so much wanted to find my mate and now I’ve seen her, I was happy and sad and heartbroken and worse if only she could see how hard I was trying to keep her safe. The salmon wolf would be angry once they found out about her being here and I wanted to do it in a way it won’t cause any harm and both parties would be safe. I wasn’t sure she was getting it. I wanted to avoid her, well, I was able to, just for a couple of days. Two days that I stayed without seeing her was like hell. She won’t know I do peep through her keyhole at night just to see if she was in there. That was how crazy I was, but I tried not to get caught cause it wouldn’t be good. And then running over when I heard she was sick. Maybe the place was suffocating, that’s why I wanted to take her out tomorrow evening for some cool air. I was gonna risk it but I was gonna do it. And I had to protect her too. “..you ain’t gonna tell her?” I turned to stay her Creamy. He was by my side now. “Tell her what?” “Mate stuff.” “And you think someone like her would take it. Don’t be silly Creamy. You should come up with something better, telling her would only worsen the situation.” “I just feel like she needs to know.” “I would tell her when it’s right, and maybe then she would’ve felt it too.” For now, I won’t say anything to her about being her mate. I didn’t plan to, I wanted her to feel safe with me first, trust me, and believe that I could protect her. We met Franco in the hallway, an anxious look on his face, he was searching for me, which was obvious, I had run out of a meeting, and I had to go and clean up the mess I made. He stopped when he saw us. Creamy left. Since he had to do something for her, and it was important. “..why did You’ve to run out like that?” “I’m sorry, I thought she died.” I choked on the words I said. That was the excuse I could give. “She didn’t, did she?” “Albeit was able to do his magic.” He nodded, he was buying it. He doesn’t have a choice. I was the Alpha I couldn’t lie. I smirked at the thought. “And the board members?” “I was able to let them go, told them something came up and we would call for another meeting.” “You did well.” “That’s my job huh.” I chuckled. “Let’s go.” We continue walking again, we were heading towards the packed field, where the warriors were training. You might think I’ve forgotten who I’m, but I’ve not. I’m still the fourth son of the late alpha of moonlight pack. Zyair Wren. And home I was going there soon, I would prove to them who the real traitor was and take my place as the Alpha of moonlight pack. It was just a year that I’ve been here, and though I was welcomed after the fights it wasn’t home, I’ve come to accept them, just as they’ve come to accept me and take me like family and I took have taken them as my own family. Salmon wolves. This was destiny. My destiny. “..and the girl, you can't keep hiding her.” “Not for long, I would come up with something. You can always help me.” “What’s so special about her anyway. She’s disrespectful arrogant and rude.” “You wanna challenge her?” “I don’t want to fight with a girl, and besides seems you..” He didn’t say anything else. I looked at him and shook my head. “You better don’t think trash.” “Why did you keep her then?” “I see myself in her.” He came to an abrupt halt and stare up at me. I was tall, yeah, handsome and sexy. Damn! I’m trying to be more mature now since I had become a leader. Then, Creamy would tell. I was not a good guy. My mate better is strong enough to contain me. “How?” “Loner. Scared. Lost. When I looked at her, that’s what I do see, and it makes my heart aches seeing someone suffering just like I did.” I sighed. That was it. And at least I must say her green eyes were spectacular, it was rare and beautiful. I just couldn’t hurt her each time I stare at those eyes. “So, don’t hate her that much. Even if she did something wrong. Think of me.” I didn’t know if what I said to him, was what held him back. Neither did I know what was gonna happen. I never expect it. And there I was, I never felt so weak.
