Chapter 12 || Revenge

2264 Words
Florence’s mind wasn’t at ease as she reached their room. She made it safely there and checked the room before she settled down and actually thought she was safe. All she could think about was Jaemin.  She kept on touching her lips each time, remembering when Jaemin connected them for the first time. There was a little burning tickle each time she touched her lips. She had never been kissed before. Living with someone like her father, she never dared to find someone on her own.  She was glad she didn’t. She had Jaemin. The one and only good thing her father did for was to get her married to Jaemin. Even though, she didn’t approve of it first, she was glad that she did. He was everything she wanted her future partner to be and now she had that. It meant the world to her. Her mind slowly travelled back to Jaemin being in danger and it made her heart feel uneasy. She sighed as she waited for another five minutes but when she didn’t hear anything or didn’t hear anything from Jaemin, she slowly opened the door of their room to peek through the small gap to see if she could see someone or him. Her heart sank when she saw a figure across the hall, knowing very well that it wasn’t Jaemin. She gasped softly and stepped a few steps backwards and accidentally walking into the night stand, knocking of the flower vase.  Her eyes widened as she looked down and quickly looked up again at the intruder who now had all his attention on her. As she watched him run towards her, she quickly closed the door and screamed out in horror.  Her heart beat was abnormal as she could feel herself sweat. This feeling was making her feel sick and too many thoughts was overwhelming her mind.  Was this it?  Was today the last time she would spend time with Jaemin?  These thoughts made the tears form in her eyes as she fought of the person that kept on pushing the door open. She could hear metal clinking, making her realise that he must have been carrying a weapon with him.  Florence cried softly as she tried fighting his strength but each push was harder and more dense than the other one was. It made her almost lose it.  She cried and was pushed in front because of the door but she quickly managed to hold it closed. She sobbed loudly as she rested her head against the door while keeping it close with all her weight pushed on it.  “Jaemin…” She whispered as she cried. She looked in front of her, trying to see if there was something that could help her fight this intruder off or somewhere she could quickly escape from but there was nothing here.  Everywhere she looked at, she knew would lead to her capture. And god knows what would happen if that happened.  “What do you want?!” Florence shouted as she couldn’t keep it anymore. She wanted to know who this person was and what was the best way of knowing than actually trying to communicate with him.  There was a creep giggle coming from behind the door that made her chills rise from up her spinal cord, making her slightly shiver. She blinked a few times and tried thinking of what she should say next to him.  He laughed a bit louder this time and then quickly stopped himself as he shushed himself. “I don’t want your husband finding us.” He whispered and quickly pushed again which caught Florence off guard. She was pushed aside and the door flew open as he came inside the room. Florence screamed as loud as she could in hope that Jaemin would hear her. But she wasn't even sure if he was around here... Each second that passed, she was losing hope that he would come while this man stood here. He had long grey greasy hair. It looked like he was sweating and there was some blood sputtered around his face. His eyes were wide open and it looked like he barely got some sleep. If Florence would asses him on a medical level, she would almost say that she was a mental patient. He slowly took a kitchen knife out from behind his back which was covered in someone's blood which made Florence feel sick. She was so afraid that she couldn't even think of who he might have hurt.  She crawled backwards and cried while trying to be him to change his mind. She tried talking with him but nothing seemed to work. When he slowly grabbed her leg and pulled her close to him, Florence started accepting that this could be the last moment she was alive.  His face was so close that she could feel his breath and smell it. He was intoxicated. He was acting on whatever he was under the influence of. "D-Do you want money?" Florence stuttered, trying to negotiate with him. When he looked down to her lips, Florence felt disgusted. She didn't even want to know what was going around in his mind. She wanted to stay out of that. Hoping he wouldn't make that kind of decision that could scar her for the rest of her life.  He shook his head and slowly looked at her again. "Your husband is the reason I rotted in hell for so long." He said. Florence couldn't explain what she felt during that moment. All she could tell was that there was a lot of hatred coming from him. She could feel that negativity as well as reading it off his facial expressions. As much as Florence wanted to say that he deserved it, she kept quiet, trying to listen as a friend which could distract him and buy Jaemin some time to get to her.  "If that bastard didn't find me, I would have had so much money, living my best life. But no... He had to interfere with my business and now... I finally found him. Happy and well. Famous Jaemin amongst the criminals has married a pretty woman. Everyone is curious to meet you. Luckily, I was the first." He said with a smile. Florence didn't realise that the criminals Jaemin actually found could be this dangerous. Maybe she underestimated his job, thinking it would be normal arrests for things like robbery or kidnapping but this was... A whole other level.  The people he had arrested or the people that knew those people were already aware of who she was to Jaemin and they were all ready to come for her.  "But don't worry. I will do you a favour. I will be quick. The others probably would have had some fun with you and tortured you before ending you. That had never been my expertise or to my liking. I rather enjoy the smell of your blood and see it leaking out of your body." He held the knife close to her cheeks while Florence was uncontrollably trembling out of fear.  "Please... Please... Don't." She begged which made it more appealing for him. He laughed as he scoffed and shook his head. "You know I enjoy it when you beg me. You might not want to do that again, I will actually want to torture you then." He smiled as if he was just being nice to her.  Florence gulped as the tears streamed down her cheeks. She didn't know what to say anymore. She was loss of words and at the same time she didn't wanted to provoke him with anything. She looked down and felt defeated. There was nothing she could do anymore. It looked like he had made up his mind and it didn't look like Jaemin was coming. A loud gun shot went off while she was in the middle of her crowded mind and blood sputtered all around her face and body. She was frozen and in shock. She screamed but after that, everything went blurry. She could hear a high pitched sound in her ear while her hand were shaking as she looked down. There was blood everywhere but it wasn't hers...  She blinked and looked up and before she look at the criminal that just invaded, Jaemin appeared in front of her. "Hey... Hey... Don't look there. Look at me. I am here. are you okay?" He kept on asking as he touched her face and then looked down at her body, trying to figure out if she was hurt somewhere.  "W-What..." She stammered. That was the only word that came out of her mouth. Jaemin looked at how pale she had become. For a nurse, she would have been able to handle blood but situations like these was not normal to her whereas it was to Jaemin. Hence why he acted so normal as if it was nothing. It was nothing to him. The man that he had arrested was for good grounds, to protect other people from him. He should have had never been released and Jaemin always fought against that but the system always had been f****d up. He doesn't even want to think about how things could have turned out if he hadn't thought to check up on Florence when he couldn't find anything. Never did he think that a woman could be important to him but Florence... She was an exception. She was everything to him and it showed. It made him vulnerable and strong at the same time. He was aware of the danger that he could bring up on Florence but never did he think he could actually that it would happen or happen this quickly. It just showed that he had to put up special circumstances to protect her and his family. Florence was still trembling and her body felt cold. "Flor... You need to try and breathe. Your body temperature is falling. So is your blood pressure... You look pale and you can faint anytime." Jaemin said as he held tightly on her as he could feel her body weaken. She nodded her head slowly but her body couldn't listen.  "I-Is he dead?" She asked and looked at him. Jaemin looked at her thoroughly and nodded his head to reassure her. He definitely was dead. He blew out his brains but Florence didn't need to know that nor see that. It would traumatise her more. She cried while clutching tightly on Jaemin's arms. "I was so scared." She cried. She let everything out. When she lived with her father, she never felt safe. She was afraid that if she didn't do something that he didn't like, he would get rid of her or the people that she cared about around the house.  She never believed her father would but there was this gut feeling that he was capable of doing anything to her as long as he got his way. As long as he was happy. The feeling of feeling uneasy as well as unsafe disappeared when she was with Jaemin. She felt untouchable and finally started getting comfortable without being too paranoid that one mistake could mean the end of her but even that ended. Although this was for different reasons, anyone could come up to her and get their way done with her just to get back at Jaemin at that was the scariest feeling for her. Jaemin sighed as he hugged her tightly. He made sure that her face rested on his chest so she wouldn't see what was behind him. He let her cry as much as she needed to and held her from her back, and from time to time, he stoked her back to console her.  "Everything will be okay. I will never let anyone hurt you. They will have to go through me before they come to you. I promise you." He said and Florence nodded her head. She sniffed as she continued hugging him tightly. All she wanted was him to be here with her. She needed him.  Jaemin was glad that nothing had happened. He would have never been able to forgive himself if she had gotten hurt. He would have beaten himself up for it. The reassuring feeling was overwhelming to him. He never knew his feelings could jump up so much. Once they came in, he was worried. Not about the staff or any of his family members.  Just Florence.  He just thought of her. It already showed how much he was falling for her. At the same time he was happy about it but it scared him too.  What mattered now was that she was safe and his arms. That's all that mattered.  _ Hello everyone, I am fully aware that it took me a long time to update and I am sorry for anyone who waits for so long for an update.
