Aren't you afraid?

This is it... I'm going to die. - Timon thought while he tried to climb ahead, closer to the direction he felt Tase's scent. A few days ago he felt that something was wrong with the Pack, when he couldn't mind-link anyone. As he slowly approached the Pack his worries and pain intensified as he realized... They were all gone. He reached the Pack and fell on his knees devastated by what he saw. The snow was already piling up on the corpses of his Alpha and Luna. Their sons dead as well just like Timon's family. Everyone was gone. Timon howled long and painfully towards the sky and he felt like his heart is going to be ripped out of his chest. He wanted to curl up and die. The guilt of not being there to help, that he survived while no one else did, started to swallow him. He laid down in the snow and curled up ready to die, when his wolf barked in his mind.

"-Tase is not here... - Timon scoffed.

- Shut up Ace! How can you tell? - Ace growled.

" - I can't sense his scent.

- Of course... All you can sense now is the trench of the corpses who once used to be our friends and family!

"- If the Pack was fully gone our pain would be worse! Believe me, Tase is still alive! The fact that you haven't lost all your sanity yet, is because you still have an ALPHA! - Timon knew that Ace was right. If a wolf looses their Pack or if it's being driven out, almost immediately becomes a rouge. A wild, pack less wolf who is dangerous to itself and to his kind.

- Fine. And where is him? - Timon asked.

"- Let's switch places and I'll find him. - Timon sighed and nodded. He shifted into Ace, a huge, grey wolf with blue eyes and black patches on his paws. Ace sniffed the air and rushed deeply into the forest.

- Dude... I have a bad feeling... - Timon said after running for a while, but as soon as he finished the sentence and Ace could've smelled the danger, they were attacked. Ace fought fiercely while he tried to run towards the direction he still smelled Tase's scent faintly. They got into the deepest part of the forest and despite Ace's injuries, they left their opponents behind. Ace stopped and pulled his tail between his legs. The fur on his back stood up as he smelled a strong scent. This scent swallowed everything... His vision became blurry and he couldn't smell anything apart from that sickeningly sweet scent. He turned back when he heard vicious growls from behind his back but all he could see was that their attackers ran away.

- What's wrong buddy?! - Timon asked as the scent wasn't that unbearable for their human counterpart. Ace knew that if he shifts know, their lives might be in danger due to the injuries. But if they stay like this... That monster which is emitting the scent will definitely kill them.

"- Sorry Timon, I must risk it. - he said and they shifted back. Timon tried to call Ace but he was knocked out. Soon Timon's body started to shiver and with a painful laughter he fall into the cold snow. The last thing he saw was a pile of snow and two dancing, purple fireflies.

The next time he opened his eyes he was in a house. Timon jumped up and grabbed a burning piece of wood from the fireplace next to him. He sensed Ace but he was still unconscious. Suddenly a familiar voice shouted at him.

- Tim! Put that s**t down! You are safe now! - Timon looked around in panic but when his eyes met with Tase's he threw the wood back to the fireplace and ran to his friend.

- Oh f*****g hell! Ace was right! Tase I'm so glad that you are alive man! You can't believe how relieved I'm! - Tase hugged his best friend and he was glad that at least he still had Timon. To the noises, Adalinda came down from her room. As soon as her scent hit Timon's nose he jumped defensively in front of Tase and growled at the little girl. Even if Ace cannot help me now, I must protect my Alpha. I still don't know why, but this girl feels dangerous. Adalinda took a step back on the stairs and she looked with fear into Tase's eyes. Tase put a hand on Timon's shoulder.

- Tim! She is a friend of mine! She saved my life and yours as well. Stop this. - Timon looked confused at Tase and asked him through the link.

'- I'm happy for your wolf Tase, and glad that you are alive. But don't you smell?

"- Smell what?

' - Her! This girl is weird...- Tase rolled his eyes.

" - You are saying idiotic things just like Titan. Her scent is strong, but nothing particular. Actually, I kinda like it and got used to it already. Put your guard down, she has been alone for a long time and she is harmless. - Timon sighed and Tase smiled at Adalinda.

- Don't be afraid Ada, he is my best friend. My...Beta, actually. - Adalinda took a few more steps down and asked.

- So, Is he part of our Pack as well? - Timon growled again. Our Pack?! How could this monster consider herself part of our Pack?!

- Timon, stop!- Tase ordered and Timon felt the power of the Alpha in his voice. He stopped growling, but he didn't take his eyes off of Adalinda.

- Yes he is. - Ada smiled and her smile was indeed gorgeous. Timon noticed her unusual eyes and hair color.

- What are you? - he asked harshly and Tase sighed tiredly. This won't be easy...

- I'm Adalinda. - she said in a low innocent voice. She even tilted her head as if Timon's question was out of place and Timon shook his head.

- I asked What are you, and not Who are you. - Ada shrugged.

- I'm just me... Adalinda. Tase calls me Ada! And you are Tim?

- Timon.- he said with an edge in his voice.

- Timon. - Ada repeated obediently. She looked innocent and fragile, but that sickening scent and those eyes were so ominous,that the hair on Timon's back stood up. A shiver ran down his spine.

- Oh... Are you cold? - Adalinda asked and he shook his head.

- I'm fine.

- Are you a wolf as well? - she asked and Timon looked surprised at Tase. He shrugged.

- She found me after my first shift. Actually for two days Ada thought I was a huge dog because of Titan! - Tase said happily and scratched the back of his neck, while he stool a few glances at Ada. Timon noticed that.

- I'll go and finish gathering some mushrooms for lunch! - Adalinda said and Tase grabbed his coat.

- I can't let you go alone. - Ada smiled and put her small hands on Tase's.

- I'll be fine! You two can talk a little in the meantime! See you soon! - she said and with a cheerful smile skipped out of the house. As soon as the door closed Timon grabbed Tase's shoulders.

- Alpha! We must leave now! I don't know why, but she is dangerous! - Tase shrugged off Timon's hands.

- She just saved your life! How can you be so ungrateful?! - Timon snapped at Tase.

- How can you be so blind?! Did she cast a spell on you or something? - that moment Ace woke up.

"- Wait a moment!

- What?! - Timon asked and from his expression Tase knew he is talking with Ace.

" - The Alpha doesn't feel threatened by her scent and trusts her...

- Yes... He probably hit his head or got enchanted!

"- Or there is something more behind this!

- Like what?!

"-They ares till young, the girl specially, and she is not a wolf either. But why could Titan and Tase be immune to her scent to the length that they haven't fled yet!?

- No way...

"- What if she is our future Luna?- Ace asked excitedly and Timon's jaw dropped.

- What did Ace say? - Tase asked and Timon laughed.

- Oh boy... We are f****d!
